  • what in the world makes you think that was an 1/8 mile pass???

  • was that really 1/4 mile? Looked more like 1/8 mile???

  • @Ranger2Fish He went 161 mph bro..... Can't do that on an 1/8 mile pass

  • Viscious bro lovin it

  • how much do u want for it bro.....

  • OMG, that must be the nicest launch I've ever seen.....that car looks glued to the track....

    That's a badass ride man......congrats.

  • @lv2xlr8svt I think it was glued to the track lol

  • sick car but i dont know how streetable it is with that powerglide. im not sayin its not a street car but i know you dont take long trips on the highway with it.lol my friend denny had a drag radial 86 car that ran 8.70s on radials and was a street car with a 3speed auto c4 and even that was not very nice above 50mph.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Hey Genius,Chevrolets used to come from the factory with 2spd powerglides and people took trips across the country and every day commuting. You mind telling the rest of us why a 2spd powerglide isn't good for the street ? I'm curious to hear this.

  • @bootman2k1 hey genius think before you speak!obviously you have never been in a powerful car with a powerglide and 4.10s. im not lookin to argue but i know for a fact that a powerglide or even a 3speed auto with steep gears is not nice on the highway. put your vehical in 2nd gear and drive it on the highway to 65mphand hold it there for 15 miles and see how much it likes it. a 283 68 impala with a 3.08 rear is alot different then a stroked small block with 4.30 rear gears! its common sense.

  • @BLACKLACDTS 4.10s, 4.30s? This is an automatic turbo 331, no one in their right mind would run such a steep gear. The majority run a 3.08 or 3.27 in a turbo Mustang, (perfectly streetable).

Personally I think a 3.27 is the money spot for a turbo 302 based fox with an AOD, and 3.08s are perfect for one with a powerglide.

  • @svt11111 i dodnt know what setp its has. all i am sayin is nobody is driving this thing across country and enjoying it. im willing to bet there is a lil more then a 3.27 gear in this car at least 3.55 imo.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Doubt it, as for driving cross country, it is just as comfortable as any other 8 second car. 2pds aren't as bad as you think, go drive one then comment. ;)

  • @svt11111 u know what i have never been in a powerful car with a 2sp but i have been in a car with 4.10s and a c4 and it was not highway friendly. i have also been in a 8 sec nitrous car with a 3spd and it too was not nice on the hwy. if he is running a high rear gear it mite not be too bad,

  • @BLACKLACDTS Yeah no one runs that steep of a gear in a turbo windsor based Mustang, it's totally unnecessary.

Anyways, it's a CONSISTENT 8 second car, of course it's not going to ride like a Toyota Camry.

  • @svt11111 how steep of a gear? i have seen plenty of turbo stangs with 3.55s and 3.73s. why cant it ride like a camry? i think thats possible and i also think it just might drive that well but the trans is what i was talking about.

  • @BLACKLACDTS 3.55s is overkill in a turbo 302 based car. Maybe in a turbo Stang with a modular motor, but not with a punched and stroked out 302.

The powerglide makes this car VERY consistent. Go watch a manual 6spd car, 1 out of 20 passes the stars will align and a good pass will be made. Of course you will only see that one glorified run on youtube and think 'wow'.

Or a C4 or TH400 breaking down every season. The PG is reliable, streetable and consistent. Go get a ride in one. : )

  • @svt11111 i guess im goin to have to ride in a powerglide car cause the 3 speeds i have been in suck ass on the highway. and i have seen quite a few 5.0 turbos with 3.55s.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Too much gear. 3.27s and a mild stall is more than enough to cut sub 1.4 60 fts on drag radials . ; ) Personally, I wouldn't even do a 3.27 with a 331, I'd go 3.08. Ain't exactly a hi-revving setup that needs gear.

Also, a 3speed and Powerglides have very similar cruise RPMs because they both use a 1:1 ratio at cruise speeds. Only a TH400 with an OD would reduce RPMs at cruise.

  • @svt11111 you sound like you know what your talkin about. its hard to find people that know there shit on here. its nice talkin to ya. i usually play around with people till i see what they know before i waste my time.lol if i dont do a ls3(i know i know a chevy in a ford) in my 93 lx fox hatch 5.0 im goin to turbo the stock motor for a while it is a 93 so it has junk pistons but it will be fine for a while if i keep under 10 psi. stock motor 5.0s with turbos make great power and tons of torque.

  • @BLACKLACDTS You too man. Can't go wrong with an LSX motor, yeah Chevy motor in a Ford, but if it performs it performs.

As for stock motor 302s, yeah I agree, depending on the turbo and type of fuel they don't go too far before being on borrowed time. Some tuners have achieved impressive feats though.

    /watch?v=KeDCsPJCx9o

  • @svt11111 my goal is to sound like a stock 302 with exhaust and look bone stock but have the ls3 in there.lol a bolt on ls3 can make almost 400 to the tires so in a 2800lb car it should be a great sleeper! im not sure im goin to do this i would like to. idk it all cost oney ya know and im building up a trailblazer ss rite now so the stang is on the back burner.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Would be nice, but it would be way cheaper to find an older used LS1 and throw a mild cam in it. LS3s which were only in newer 2008+ cars will cost you significantly more money.

Great motor if it's already there, but not too economical to find one for a swap.

  • @svt11111 the thing with the ls1 is its been done alot. i want the heads and cubes of the ls3. i wont do it for a while anyway so when i do i hope to find a cheap ls3 or build my own. buy a truck l92 block for cheap, get the l92/ls3 heads, good intake and build my own. lol if only i had unlimited funds.lol but if that was the case it would have a twin turbo 514 big block!

  • @BLACKLACDTS Yeah if you aren't on a budget a drop-in LS3 would definitely be awesome.

But yeah, if you build it on your own you can make big power for a lot less $. L92 BE, prc 5.3 stage 2.5 heads, nice cam and you can make some REAL healthy numbers on a super reasonable budget.

As for a TT 514, hehe. In the end, whatever you build will never be enough!

  • @svt11111 well since i havent found the money tree yet it wont be a brand new ls376 crate motor! lol idk how it will play out ya know. if anything happens to my tbss maybe it will be a ls2 fox! lol

it seem like you alos are familuar with the ls motors. what do you have? i see the name svt....

  • @BLACKLACDTS 2010 GT500, but I've owned many cars including C6s, C5s and fbodys.

LS2 fox would always be nice... : D

  • @svt11111 yes it would.lol 2010 gt500 is a sweet ride! nothing against your car but i think if ford dont step the gt500 up(i know thats hard to do) the new coyote 5.0 stangs are going to kill its sales totally. my friend bone stock off the lot 2012 5.0 with the 3.73 rear ran 12.60 @114mph!!! bone stock on 19" rims!!! with wheel hop! a tune, cai, exhaust and drag radials and its in the 11.40s!!!! if it has a blower or nos it would be a easy mid to low 10 sec car! its amazing.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Yeah, tell me about it. Unfortunately I picked it up before rumors of a 412hp GT even surfaced.

I'm just enjoying it for the time being, can't afford to take a huge hit. I might sell it this coming fall and pickup whatever Ford has in store for us come next spring, (as 2013 models).

Your friend can drive, 114mph is a pretty insane trap speed.

  • @svt11111 yes he can drive! his new 5.0 is nothing to the car he sold 2 buy the new 5.0. he had a 92 mustang coupe, pump gas 408 and 5speed went 10.20s @130mph. it was 100% street car with full interior and all. it even won car shows it was so nice and clean. it was also in 5.0 magizine.artical was called "cash coupe". his new 5.0 was just in the new 5.0 magizine coyote shootout. he placed 2nd in street tire class with just a tune ,cai on stock rims and tires and ran 12.0@116mph names jay wiley

  • @svt11111 yeah my buddy built a ls3 fox body. with a cam and stall with 3.73 gears it run 10.60s. and was a daily driver.

  • @BLACKLACDTS First of all genius as far as ''never been in a powerful car with a powerglide and 4.10's'' let me fill you in on something.I race and maintain a 69 camaro with a 2SPEED POWERGLIDE,4.10 gears and i run 7.70's at 179+ mph ! So don't tell me shit about knowing what im talking about and before you say anything else YES it is street legal and yes we DO run the car on the street. You didnt say shit about gears, you only mentioned a powerglide not being good for the street.

  • @bootman2k1 lmao whoa there cowboy no need to be nasty! and i dont care what you say fuck a powerglide on the street! whats you cars setup? motor, converter, gas, weight, tires ect??? im sure you drive the 7.70 camaro with a powerglide on the street but that dont make it a legal street car. anyway 7.70s @180mph is no joke! congrats on those awsome times.

  • @BLACKLACDTS your right, don't mean to be nasty. Right now we went from 4.10's to a 3.70 and are running a Neal Chance bolt together convertor set at 3100 stall so we can throw more nitrous to it off the line. It's a back half ladderbar car that weighs #3260 with me in it and a MT 14/32 tire. We run the car in what was the OUTLAW632 class which is now named NITROUS PRO STREET.Its a conventional headed 632 Pat Musi motor.

  • @bootman2k1 sounds like a sick ride.

  • Damn it stays perfectly str8!!!

  • thats an automatic right?

  • @lokinhosk7: Yes it has a 2 speed powerglide trans.

  • i like how it sticks to the ground !!!

  • That is without a doubt the smoothest, straightest sub 9 second run I've ever seen a mustang make. SWEET!

  • @darkhorsefive0 this car is bad ass but, check out David Wolfe's 6 sec one

  • @ubernoob77 Thanks for the heads up. Checked it out. Wolfe definitely has his stuff together!

  • One word answer: PERFECT.

  • And thats why UPR reigns supreme!

I knew I knew that name from somewhere! Thats my home track. I live about 20 minutes away from UPR ahaha.

  • Now thats fast!

  • killer turbo

  • UPDATE: 8.47@163 with 1.27 60' time on 275-60-15 Hoosier Drag Radials. Upgraded my UPR suspension to UPR Competition Pro Series suspension and car hooks so much harder now...thanks Jeremy!! Thanks for all the positive comments...you guys are great!!!

  • I wonder, how much did this Mustang (price of Mustang included) cost to build?

  • lol if you challenged this beast at a light you would be shocked

  • damn dude can drive thats for sure.

  • Wow..that was one seriously smooth launch!....What tire you using?

  • That was weird how that thing spun the tires like that and still managed to stay so straight and grip. Nice work there!

  • that is to fucking clean

  • whoooooaaaaaa

  • PERFECT Jump!. nothing more can be said.

  • What heads are u running

  • @hiwayripper I run old school Trick Flow High-ports that haven't been ported yet. I don't want to screw up something that's working...lol.

  • What did this car make on the dyno??

  • @crazyaboutcars67 Going to take it soon to MacDonald Motorsports to find out.

  • That is truely awsome.

  • What bottom end are you running? I am thinking about going with a 302 boss block with eagle 4340 forged crank and rods with Arp 2000 or L19 bolts upgrade? What do you think?

  • @Mgezee1823

I'm running a Dart block with Eagle 4340 crank and H-beam rods with SRP pistons. My previous combo was a old Boss block with cast steel crank and still ran 8.83@158. I run ARP 2000 rod bolts as well. Sounds like you're on the right track. Goodluck!

  • Thanks alot. 8.51@161 in the 1/4. 5.47@130 in the 1/8 is flying. I hope my car run atleast 9.20s.

  • Comment removed

  • The converter in my car when this video was made was a PTC stalling at 5200 but since had FTI (Deland, Florida) tighten it up (4600) and went a best of 8.51@161. 5.47@130.7 1.33 60' on 275/60/15 M/T drag radials in the eigth. Sounds like your converter is perfect to me. Goodluck, let me know how it turns out.

  • Thanks, one more question, I am going with a built 1500 hp AOD with the C-6 center shaft in it, I was wondering what stall on the converter and should I have a lock-up or non lockup converter. I right now I have a non lockup 4500 stall converter from Precision Industries, man I love this converter. What do you think?

  • That launch was insane

  • that launch was smoothe as fuck for 8s

  • Holy fuck that thing leaves nicely :)

  • WOW that thing was pullin some SERIOUS G's!

  • WOW that was a good launch!

  • Just about perfect launch!

    I love this car!

  • dude thats an awesome ride. I am building a 331 boss block turbo motor right for my mustang. I am starting with a precision 74mm turbo for a year or so then I am going to an GT47 88mm turbo. This is a street car by the way. What you thinK?

  • GT47 88 is a great turbo on a T-6 flange but for a street car such as mine you might be better off going with a T-4 flange turbo like mine a PT-88 or even better the PT47 88. Not alot of people know about that turbo from Precision, it makes about 100 more HP than mine. Goodluck any way you go. Thanks for the nice comment on my car. Sorry so long to respond, kinda new to this Youtube stuff.

  • that's just insane. what a 331 turbo setup can do with the right people to build and tune that bad boy. clean as fuck also

  • This car is so awesome. Its so quiet in person...just sounds like a stock mustang on the burnout unless you catch the tiniest hint of the compressor side of the turbo spinning up or a little blow off valve flutter. It gets down the track in 8 seconds with no fuss whatsoever and does it very consistently. Gotta hand it to the owner, builder, and tuner Larry.

  • this fuckin thing is so damn bad

  • Nice to meet Larry at the Orlando World Street Nationals 2009. This car is truly sweeeet. Clean, quiet, fast and stock interior, doesn't get any better than this.

  • bad mofo

  • now that is one bad street car!!!

  • Hell yeah!

  • cool video dicky
