This is was a good routine but it just shows how the scoring on bars is out of control..there was no wow factor like He Kexin or Tweedle. I just feel like the scoring is very skewed for Bars...overall good job because it was clean but it just seem easy for her or for anyone to do a lot of this skills over and over the dismount reminded me of Shannon Miller.
@LCAmarkymark Nastia Liukin (No, I'm hardly a Nastia fan), is probably the only person I've seen who does pirouetting as complicated as that... Doing those pirouettes is like a double arabian, because they are often blinded on the bar, as well as requiring incredible balance and flexibility. A great deal of them are rated E. Next I'll be hearing that Anna Pavlova's switch ring looks too easy for her so she doesn't deserve a good score for it.
@bernardmvella you know what..why not..Im tired of gymnast just doing whats comfortable to them...and do the same kind of skill over and over again..Yang does this here and on floor...this code really doesn't allow a gymnast to be creative and receive a high score..while Pirouetting is all that makes Yang's and Nastia's routine the Switch ring on Pavlova's floor actually complements the other skills of here routine instead of just doing what comes easy to her.
@LCAmarkymark Ok, so I guess using natural talents in gymnastics isn't something gymnasts should do according to you. I understand you, but I don't agree with you.
@bernardmvella no not at all..just because its easy for you doesn't mean you should do them all in a row...they should be artistic in their placement of elements. Thats what Im saying...you don't have to be passive aggressive in post either.
@gymnastagirl141009 they weren't just chinese gymnast they were from many countries and in event finals most times from countries that doesn't are in the competition
Omg what i just cant understand is that of all the well excecuted skills she does, the only one that is just ugly are her kips (and perhaps the shoot up to high bar). Anyway, I mean like.. omg. Its just ridiculous. Even I can do a better kip to handstand. Why is it so hard for this super-talent (and also for He Kexin) to do a simple kip to handstand?
I actually do think Nastia deserved her UB score for team finals, although I don't like her cowboyed dismount. However, people who say Nastia is the best or the most graceful or whatsoever thingy should watch more gymnasts from all sort of countries, such as Anna Pavlova, Yang Bo, Lilia Podkopayeva, Svetlana Khorkina, etc.
Honestly like I LOVE Nastia I really do but then at the same time I think the Chinese are awesome gymnasts! Like no kidding. I would say 'though that I'm neutral 'though because I don't think Nastia gets overscored much but at the same time.. I do feel that the Chinese get underscored alot and deserve much more positive like attention instead of things like they look underage lol. You know what I mean? I LOVE BOTH THE AMERICAN AND CHINESE TEAMS =)
this isn't a video of nastia, it's a video about yang yilin. all gymnasts have their strengths and weaknesses. how about we comment on how clean and lovely yang yilin was here instead of turning every single youtube link into a nastia vs. shawn or nastia vs. he trollfest?
why do the americans always get high scores and get a bunch of praise when their routines werent really that graceful and great while the chinese their routines are awesome but their scorings are low
that was really good!!!!!!!!!!!!! but, her kips seem odd to me. is that just how they teach them in china or is it just me. please answer. just a question.
the only place that i could find a deduction was the hop on the dismount and the handstand after the tkatchev...it's not really even that much of a missed handstand either...i'm just trying to see what the judges did...if she had this performance in EF i think she would've taken gold...her ono's healy's and half turns are right on top of the bar, her releases are high and caught with good swing, no leg separation...it's almost impossible to find deductions?!?!?! STUPENDOUS!!!
Liukin has leg seperation for 3 times passing the low bar and one more on her dismount. flying low on her realease. and a late turn on the low bar missing the vertical postion....she still got 9.2 b score....
Look at this lady, leg glue together, hit her handstand all the time. only got 9.1 on her execution score, that's unfair at all
How could Liukin received the highest score with several visible form breaks and probms in TF? Yang should get a higher score than Kexin and Nastia in both TF and Bars final.
she let go a little early on the dismount....still a really good dismount though...love her handstands... i think they're the best of the entire olympics...
I did the FIG-judge-course and have to agree that Liukin has several promlems... also with her double front on floor... her knee-separation would give her a deduction of 0.3!!!
@chinatheatre did you even watch her bar finals?? she was amazing!!! i like yang yilin's bar routine too, but quite frankly, i know 11 yr olds who can do her dismount. it's not exactly new or exciting, though it was beautifully executed. i'll give her that.
Ok, I'm American. And this is insulting. Yes I know that Nastia was quite a bit over-scored. And heard and watched her fall in Preliminaries on YouTube. But frog-like? . I cheer my own country and others. Why can't we all just cheer our own countries on and hope for the best and if your country doesn't make it wish the one's that did to do their very best.
I'm American, and I do not think that I could/should do whatever I want and get away with it, as I recognize justice and believe that justice be done unto me as I would have it done unto others (unless others want to play dirty then I'd be happy to entertain in return). I'm American, and I can take an insult and check myself AND improve myself! If I thought every negative suggestion is an excuse to not move my ass(excuse my language)then I will not call myself American. Wake up!
I can take negative criticism. I just hate the thought that everyone bashes USA for something or China for something. But why should I wake up? For what? I understand where your coming from. I believe the same for you. But what else are you saying?
@chinatheatre and yang yillin does not fly above the bar like nastia does yang yilins routine is beautiful but it doesnt pack in the power and artistry nastia does hence the score she got given
@gymnastandchocolate than let's see chinese or gymnasts from other countries doing this. there E score will definitely be under 9...lol. u just know NOTHING.
@gymnastandchocolate well. we all hv different comments on this and i think it doesnt matter. sorry if u think i ve insulted u or anything. u know..i'm just pissed at those officials of FIG. sometimes girls from some countries are just underscored or way overscored. the same even happens to different gymnasts from the same country. just think it's unfair, though i'm trying to say something bad about nastia or what. she may hv something really well done or the opposite. u know
@chinatheatre Don't even try to start. She earned her scores and you know it she may not have a perfect dismount because of her ankle but she has an amazing bar routine.
Queenieque is pathetic! You are a true idiot when you call other posters idiots. you, like many other americans, always use double standands. If you take Yang Yun's words as the truth, why did you wrote that Jiang Yuyuan's own words are not the evidence of her age (when Jiang told reporters that she was 12 in 2003?) You are just disgusting, an extremely biased person and completely brain-washed by your media. The world has changed, some americans will never change, just like big 3 in Detriot.
Yes, however, DPRK has had many cases within the last 10 years, and there was a report published in "Trud" (a Russian newspaper) saying that Ksenia was just 14 in the year of 2007, and would not turn 15 until next year (2008).
I believe that the predominant reason the Chinese are being investigated as they are is because America draws the worlds attention to it. If America did not see China as a threat, or if they didn't win, it would be dropped post haste. It's sad, but it's quite true.
QueenieQue and some American fans always play political and ideological cards when they talk about Chinese gymnasts! Queenieque, you can deny that many top american athlets used drugs. Chinatheatre's arguments have more logic than your endless nonsense! Bad loser.
I've got a solution... Lower the age limit! They (the IOC and FIG) thought that sending in girls that were too young to compete was detrimental. However, now that the age is set higher, more people are supposedly 'cheating' it.
Did you know that USSR, Russia, Romania, China, DPRK and many other countries have lied about a gymnasts age before? Do you also know that Ksenia Semenova is just as tiny and young looking as the Chinese girls? Why not a full blown investigation on them as well? (Russia)
QueenieQue, you're so annoying! It's you and some americans who started to attack Chinese gymnasts. Read Chinatheatre's message carefully, he is talking about gymnastics fans, not judges! Liukin could not get silver if it was not for higher scores that she got from three eastern european judges! Funny you mentioned that age cannot be tested. But have u.s. media and fans been TESTING Chinese girls' looks (eye shapes for instance) to reach their conclusion? You are a typical american hypocrat.
According to your logic, there is a HISTORY of many top u.s. athlets'using drug enhencement in olympic sports, (just go back to check how many american olympic medal winners used drugs!), are you saying that people should be suspecious about all 2008 u.s. team members' possible drug use? You can't use double standard! Or are you saying that Phelps' record should be questioned and his performance should be investigated just because there is a real history of drug usa?
Every gymnastics fan in the world except for some americans can tell that Liukin has more form problems than Yang Yilin or He Kexin! In addition to her form problems and ugly dismount, Liukin's bars in the finale was slow, no flow, handstands not precise, separate legs, and flat feet. If Liukin medaled, Britain's Beth Tweedle should medal, too. I agree with most fans in the world: Yang gold; He silver; Tweedle or Liukin bronze.
Que..., you've clearly forgotten all rude and vicious comments and attacks on Chinese gymnasts by u.s. media, coaches, fans including yourself. Don't try to hide your deep bias and hatred under some noble words. We've seen enough hypocracy."Poor form" is a fact.Look at the "best form" american gymnast in Liukin: She has a lot of form problems in a single bars routine. She always crosses her feet or legs on her beam and floor dismount. She cheats to secure her landings, but cannot fool real fans.
"It's also hard for me to comprehend Kexin being 16."
It's very hard for sports fans in the world to comprehend Michael Phelps winning those golds and breaking records in such a short period of time. However, Chinese media NEVER questions this or launches nasty accusation on Phelps.Chinese fans NEVER insult and attack Phelps like some americans have done to Chinese gymnasts! It's hard for me to comprehend how 16 years old female gymnasts could have such strong muscles as americans have.
"Firstly, no one "attacked" these girls. Being suspicious about their ages is not an attack"-- What do you mean? So it's not "attack" unless these girls are actually PHYSICALLY attacked? Verbal attack is a form of attack! Mainstream u.s. media, coaches, former coaches and fans launched a nasty campaign that shamelessly attacks and insults these innocent girls! Your view on what is considered "attack" reflects your arrogance and bullish attitude.
Quee: Your problem is, you use magnifying glass to pick the slightest imperfection in Chinese routines while never critisize obviousproblems that most top american gymnasts have. Liukin is considered by u.s. media and american fans the best bars worker in the world. But unbiased gymnastics fan can see many and much visible form problems in Liukin's bars routine. Liukin has lost gold medal to 3 different gymnasts from 3 different countries at worlds or olympics thought she's been overscored.
Queenieque, people have every Human Right to choose where they want to live! You are so hypocratic that you don't practice human right but love to preach it to others shamelessly. Compared to your "best" gymnast Nastia Liukin's ugly form, the slightest imperfection if some Chinese have (not every Chinese has so-called "dead hang") look much much better than Americans' terrible form. Of course, you are blind when it comes to Americans.
YOur japanese mother can answer this qustion better. Go ask her. It is funny to see a half-American justifies one's American status and use another half of himself to show his is righteious. I am here to make money and get the jobs from sore losers like you. End of conversation.
being a half-japanese doesn't give you an edge to condemn others as racists. Especially, your racial identity is not formed under the attacks of Chinese people. If this American society makes you feel you are a second-class citizen, make sure you locate the right target and condemn them to make yourself a better and fuller person. Condemning Chinese won't make you feel better but make us feel you are really low.
Don't be sensitive. Racism is in one's imagination. If you have a racist mind, you see everything racist. Who care you what your racial origin is, as far as you don't leave stupid comments here, I wouldn't give a shit to you. Your nation can not even speak for itself but has to borrow two stupid mounthes from Romania. I suspect your mother is not as younger looking as most Asians, is this an attack?
It's really unfair to put all Americans in one category and say that they are sore losers. Clearly there are racist Americans, and clearly there are racist people in every other country out there as well. It is extremely untrue and biased to say that Americans are the only ones writing rude things on youtube. There are sore losers in every country. There are good people in every country too. Shawn Johnson is a class act, for example. The Chinese gymnasts are amazing, and so are the USA gymnasts.
Some Americans are so low. They insult and attack others frequently, but when others criticize them, they cry: "you are anti-americans!". It seems that they have god-given right to anti-Chinese and anti-anyone else. Don't they understand that if they treat nice people as enemies, they make enemies in those people? Do they expect love from people to whom they've insulted? Too many war lovers and war mongers. Bela's wife Marta made similar rude comments on Chinese and NBC surely loves Bela.
Let's get the truth: some American sore losers STARTED their nasty attacks on Chinese gymnasts. American coaches STARTED their racist attacks on Chinese girls. Bela called Chinese "half people"! American media STARTED its hateful attacks on Chinese gymnasts! I'm just defending Chinese girls' human rights, a phrase you guys talk constantly, love to preach to others but don't practice very often.
"Well, too bad for you, Liukin DID get a higher score than Yang"
Well, too bad for you and bad losers. Chinese DID get team gold with a much higher score. They won by almost 2 points! It's funny to see that Asso. press reported "Chinese edged Americans" to win. Chinese team did not edged, they won by a big margin! We see bad losers everywhere there, from mainstream u.s. media to Bela Korolyn to american fans. They need to learn sportsmanship from Chinese, Russians, Romanians and other teams.
chinatheatre, I have read some of your posts and all you like to do 24/7 is attack americans, say how much american gymnastics sucks, say how fat american gymnasts are, and how we are always sore losers.
yang yilin did such a beautiful routine here!! talk about that! that would be sooooo much more interesting than these never-ending STUPID china vs. us comments
If crying babies can be considered mature for QueenieQue and bad losers, the word "maturity" should be redefined in English dictionaries. Some Americans definately are using a different measurement to measure everything, from judging people's maturity to people's looks. Well, they use their fat standards to judge people's ages; that's why Bela called Chinese girls "half people". But to the standard of gymnastics fans all over the world, Bela looks like a half pig.
QueenQie is a good example of American bad losers. We gymnastics fans in the world all enjoy Chinese performance. They are so beautiful to watch, not like most Americans' with bad forms. I am very happy for Chinese girls, they totally deserve the gold!
How could Liukin get higher score on UB than Yang? You can put a big yoga ball between her legs on her dismount! For all her landings on floor, Liukin either has crossed feet or separate legs to make her landings easier. She has never been deducted for those cheating tricks. Everyone knows that it is much harder to stick landing when a gymnast puts her legs together and points her toes. Kexin took a small step on her UB landing at TF because her legs glued together and toes beautifully pointed.
FUCK U!!! nastia's dismount was disgusting, the only reason she never got deductions that big was because no-one noticed exactly HOW the frog-like dismount should be executed.
Maybe not, but I beg Nasty to close her legs together. As a young girl, it is not so graceful to keep the legs apart. BTW, I appreciate Nasty's contribution by pushing the altitude of pak to a new low.
QuenniQue: Compared with Nastia Liukin's frog-like dismount, hugely separated legs, flat feet, and several other problems in a short uneven bar routine, Yang's is much much better and prettier! Perfect form, legs and feet glue together! Go back to check how ugly Liukin's dismount is if you are not blind! Of course, when it comes to Chinese or others, you have your magnifying glass in hand, ready to pick any minor imperfections from their performance.
you know its so pathetic that everybody cant break away from this whole age controversy. Regardless of what age they are, THEY ARE fantastic lol deal with it they won team gold they were better I hoped our team could do it but they didnt. I keep reading about this on these videos and its unfair to these girls not being appreciated for being great athletes for some reason we always think we are better than everyone else lol that is why alot of other countrys dont like us cause of that arrogance
does anyone have a clip of the ending of yang's ub routine where He Kexin picks her up in the air? I thought it was the cutest thing ever to see that little tiny girl pick another up a SOLID 2 inches!
Huh? This was for the team final which she had a higher score than the individual round. Techinically, she was scored fairly here but unfairly during the individual uneven bars competition. :(
Oh well, she's a sport!!! She's happy with her bronze and happy for team gymnast He Kexin and competetitor Liukin.
I think the judges really wanted Kexin to have the gold, so they marked Yang lower. If there was more space between kexin and luikin, then yang would have gotten silver. If Kexin wasnt already sitting on the gold, they would have given gold to Yang. The real outrage would have been if the British gymnast Tweddle would have won bronze, thereby knocking Yang out of the third position. Tweddle missed the bronze by 000.25. Also, i think Kexin did deserve the gold, because of the difficulty.
He Kexin, Yang Yilin, and Liukin had the same 7.7 difficulty level so all was fair game. As I see it, each of these girls deserves the gold but it's who had the better day that Olympic day. I'm not sure what Tweddle's difficulty level were then...
I think if Yang Yilin were to get the gold that day and leaving Liukin with the bronze, THAT would have been an outrage.
Tweddle actually got a 7.8 difficulty (she had a ton of releases), but her execution was so poor. I agree with the judges wanting to give Kexin the gold, her routine (releases) was out of this world.
Fantastic job! Beautiful! Well done, Yang Yilin. Do you have her uneven bar performance from the individual competition? I thought she did a much better job in it better; although this was just as great. Her dismount was perfect in the individual round, too!
I still believe that she was underscored unfairly in the individual competition (UB) and from her reaction afterwards made it seem that she thought she did enough to get the gold, too. Oh well, what's done is done! :D Congrats Yang Yilin!
My whole family did, too, and even my sister who is an ex-gymnast and highly supports the USA gymnastics team. She was shocked and so were we. Even Liukin expressed the same thought but what's done is done.
Although, I'm sure the 'accusations' would get the best of it though and I hate to imagine how worst things could have been for Yang Yilin and her teammates if she had won the gold. Plus, Liukin would end up with the bronze and imagine the chaos against the Chinese gymnasts after that...
i agree. but i really think yilin should have won the gold even kexin thought so too thats why she carried yilin..when they announce yilin's score even liukin was surprise that it was low. but what is done is done. yilin aim high on 2012.
yilin MIGHT be in the 2012 olympics because the chances of a female gymnast in china going twice is kind of low. but i still hope she is going to be in the 2012 olympic.
She trains hard and I really do wish that she participates in the 2012 Olympic games, too, but if not, I hope she and her teammates do well in other competitions prior to 2012 London Olympic games. :)
Cheng Fei participated in 2004 and 2008...she also won the first gold for China prior to the Beijing Olympics. It's unfortunate that she didn't win the gold in the individual rounds.
The BB, FX, and VT gold's were hers to lose anyway... :(
Dude, Yang will defiantely come back if she doesnt get hurt. If the gymnastic federation changes to the rules to make the Olympic competition more artistry, the all-around will be Yang's to lose. Just look at her, she will grow another 2-3 inches, and i dont see her getting fat. All she needs to do is improve her beam. Of course, she will have to compete against her teammate Linlin for all-around. But Fei taught them all, that it is possible to do 2 olympics if you work hard.
You have a point. I don't think height really plays a factor in how good a person is but determination, hard work, and faith can happen to a person. Cheng Fei is an example when she gained a few pounds in 2006 and was unable to perform a vault named after her, but she accomplished to learn it and lost the weight needed to still get recognizion for her vault for the next two years.
I wish to see ALL of the Chinese gymnastics team from Beijing 2008 to the London games in 2010. :)
Yang has already stated that she wants to model her routine after Svetlana Khorkina. So maybe height doesnt play a factor. But in Yang's case, i think her future height will actually make her a much better gymnast.
And Cheng fei's muscle mass is what makes her vault and floor so exceptional, compared to the younger gymnast that are trying to take her spot on the squad.
If Cheng Fei decides to not participate in the 2010 London games, I hope she becomes a mentor and a coach to other gymnasts. What can I say, there's no better way of mastering without a great gymnasts like her on the sideline, right?
According to her, tall gymnast have different styles. And she said, that she would have to adjust her routine as she grows taller. And that she wanted her style to resemble Khorkina. Both of her parents are very tall, so i guess everybody is expecting a big growth spurt from her in the next several years.
I just dont think China can replace Fei on vault an fx. I read that is has been hard to find powerful Chinese girls to perform them. She will be back, China will pay her millions!
OH okay! Thank you for clarifiying. Based on their appearrance, noone matched Cheng Fei body type from when she was 16 (2004 Olympics) with Yang Yilin and Deng Linlin in vault. I think Deng Linlin is promising and I believed it surprised us all when she landed her dismount very well done during her replacement vault in the team competition (Beijing).
As for parents, I think it can vary with each people. Like bball players are likely taller depsite their genes...
Your right height does vary with people, regradless of parents. But i think it is clear that Yang will be very tall. And become even more graceful then she all ready is.
Also, i think Cheng Fei has a very unique body type in all of gymnastics. She is built like a tank, but she is also graceful. The only gymnast that can beat Cheng Fei in vault and fx, is Cheng Fei.
Yes, I think Yang Yilin will grow taller; nonetheless, I also believe that if she keeps training and works hard enough, she'll be a better gymnasts in the next four years!
You're right. Cheng Fei is a fantastic and inspiring gymnasts! She is the only one who can top herself and she's a gymnasts that everyone is lucky to have watched perform over the years and hopefully she continue on.
Who knows when another gymnasts like her will come around again but there are good candidates! hahah
And man where do i begin about Deng. She wasnt even mentally preparing herself to do vault, and was a last minute substitution. And she stepped up and STUCK the vault. And on top of that, after watching her hero Cheng Fei fall on the beam immediately before her, she climbs on the beam, and sticks her routine. Deng has the mental toughness of an elite soldier. If China can duplicate Deng's toughness, the world will be unable to stop them for 100 years!!
OMG, I know!!! I instantly loved her after watching her routines but unfortunately didn't see her after the team finals. In a documentary I saw, she was probably the most emotional gymnast and being an emotional athlete for anyone does have it toll...
The coaches kept taunting her about not making it to the Olympics and what do you know! She DID participate in the Beijing Olympics and she helped her teammates and country win its first Olympic gold! :D
I would have loved to have seen that video. Yang does seem emotional and sensitive, but during competition, you wouldnt know it.
And i think all the coaches probably taunt the girls about not becoming an Olympic gymnast.
I do know this, they wont taunt Yang ever again. On the contrary, they will now put extra effort into Yang. As the coaches know now that they have a potential all-around Olympic gold medal champion under them.
This is was a good routine but it just shows how the scoring on bars is out of control..there was no wow factor like He Kexin or Tweedle. I just feel like the scoring is very skewed for Bars...overall good job because it was clean but it just seem easy for her or for anyone to do a lot of this skills over and over the dismount reminded me of Shannon Miller.

the only place that i could find a deduction was the hop on the dismount and the handstand after the tkatchev...it's not really even that much of a missed handstand either...i'm just trying to see what the judges did...if she had this performance in EF i think she would've taken gold...her ono's healy's and half turns are right on top of the bar, her releases are high and caught with good swing, no leg separation...it's almost impossible to find deductions?!?!?!

How could some Americans are so blind that they can not see Liukin's various problems on bars and her famous ugly frog-like dismount?
chinatheatre 3 years ago 98
I did the FIG-judge-course and have to agree that Liukin has several promlems... also with her double front on floor... her knee-separation would give her a deduction of 0.3!!!

@chinatheatre So true! There is a video entitled 'Andreea Raducan VS Nastia Liukin' the comments in it are so delusional :/
People are saying,
'Nastia is the most graceful gymnast of all time. Andreea is okay, but not that great.'
It's horrible. The Americans don't understand that Nastia is NOT clean, NOT grace, NOT entertaining, she's a horrible AA winner. I'm much rather Anna.

@chinatheatre

Wake up!

SpunkieMunkie 3 years ago 11
Yes, however, DPRK has had many cases within the last 10 years, and there was a report published in "Trud" (a Russian newspaper) saying that Ksenia was just 14 in the year of 2007, and would not turn 15 until next year (2008).
I believe that the predominant reason the Chinese are being investigated as they are is because America draws the worlds attention to it. If America did not see China as a threat, or if they didn't win, it would be dropped post haste. It's sad, but it's quite true.
Dunntosh 3 years ago 6
QueenieQue and some American fans always play political and ideological cards when they talk about Chinese gymnasts! Queenieque, you can deny that many top american athlets used drugs. Chinatheatre's arguments have more logic than your endless nonsense! Bad loser.
SpunkieMunkie 3 years ago 4
I've got a solution... Lower the age limit! They (the IOC and FIG) thought that sending in girls that were too young to compete was detrimental. However, now that the age is set higher, more people are supposedly 'cheating' it.
Did you know that USSR, Russia, Romania, China, DPRK and many other countries have lied about a gymnasts age before? Do you also know that Ksenia Semenova is just as tiny and young looking as the Chinese girls? Why not a full blown investigation on them as well? (Russia)
Dunntosh 3 years ago 3
She's got great lines. She did have a couple limp hangs, but everything else was nice
aleksdeabreu 3 years ago 6
QueenieQue, you're so annoying! It's you and some americans who started to attack Chinese gymnasts. Read Chinatheatre's message carefully, he is talking about gymnastics fans, not judges! Liukin could not get silver if it was not for higher scores that she got from three eastern european judges! Funny you mentioned that age cannot be tested. But have u.s. media and fans been TESTING Chinese girls' looks (eye shapes for instance) to reach their conclusion? You are a typical american hypocrat.
SpunkieMunkie 3 years ago 3
According to your logic, there is a HISTORY of many top u.s. athlets'using drug enhencement in olympic sports, (just go back to check how many american olympic medal winners used drugs!), are you saying that people should be suspecious about all 2008 u.s. team members' possible drug use? You can't use double standard! Or are you saying that Phelps' record should be questioned and his performance should be investigated just because there is a real history of drug usa?
chinatheatre 3 years ago 5
Every gymnastics fan in the world except for some americans can tell that Liukin has more form problems than Yang Yilin or He Kexin! In addition to her form problems and ugly dismount, Liukin's bars in the finale was slow, no flow, handstands not precise, separate legs, and flat feet. If Liukin medaled, Britain's Beth Tweedle should medal, too. I agree with most fans in the world: Yang gold; He silver; Tweedle or Liukin bronze.
chinatheatre 3 years ago 5
Que..., you've clearly forgotten all rude and vicious comments and attacks on Chinese gymnasts by u.s. media, coaches, fans including yourself. Don't try to hide your deep bias and hatred under some noble words. We've seen enough hypocracy."Poor form" is a fact.Look at the "best form" american gymnast in Liukin: She has a lot of form problems in a single bars routine. She always crosses her feet or legs on her beam and floor dismount. She cheats to secure her landings, but cannot fool real fans.
chinatheatre 3 years ago
"It's also hard for me to comprehend Kexin being 16."
It's very hard for sports fans in the world to comprehend Michael Phelps winning those golds and breaking records in such a short period of time. However, Chinese media NEVER questions this or launches nasty accusation on Phelps.Chinese fans NEVER insult and attack Phelps like some americans have done to Chinese gymnasts! It's hard for me to comprehend how 16 years old female gymnasts could have such strong muscles as americans have.
chinatheatre 3 years ago 2
"Firstly, no one "attacked" these girls. Being suspicious about their ages is not an attack"-- What do you mean? So it's not "attack" unless these girls are actually PHYSICALLY attacked? Verbal attack is a form of attack! Mainstream u.s. media, coaches, former coaches and fans launched a nasty campaign that shamelessly attacks and insults these innocent girls! Your view on what is considered "attack" reflects your arrogance and bullish attitude.
chinatheatre 3 years ago
Quee: Your problem is, you use magnifying glass to pick the slightest imperfection in Chinese routines while never critisize obviousproblems that most top american gymnasts have. Liukin is considered by u.s. media and american fans the best bars worker in the world. But unbiased gymnastics fan can see many and much visible form problems in Liukin's bars routine. Liukin has lost gold medal to 3 different gymnasts from 3 different countries at worlds or olympics thought she's been overscored.
chinatheatre 3 years ago
Queenieque, people have every Human Right to choose where they want to live! You are so hypocratic that you don't practice human right but love to preach it to others shamelessly. Compared to your "best" gymnast Nastia Liukin's ugly form, the slightest imperfection if some Chinese have (not every Chinese has so-called "dead hang") look much much better than Americans' terrible form. Of course, you are blind when it comes to Americans.

being a half-japanese doesn't give you an edge to condemn others as racists. Especially, your racial identity is not formed under the attacks of Chinese people. If this American society makes you feel you are a second-class citizen, make sure you locate the right target and condemn them to make yourself a better and fuller person. Condemning Chinese won't make you feel better but make us feel you are really low.
66QQ66 3 years ago
Don't be sensitive. Racism is in one's imagination. If you have a racist mind, you see everything racist. 66QQ66 3 years ago
The Chinese gymnasts are amazing, and so are the USA gymnasts.
gymn0brunette0hanley 3 years ago 4
Some Americans are so low. They insult and attack others frequently, but when others criticize them, they cry: "you are anti-americans!". It seems that they have god-given right to anti-Chinese and anti-anyone else. Don't they understand that if they treat nice people as enemies, they make enemies in those people? Do they expect love from people to whom they've insulted? Too many war lovers and war mongers. Bela's wife Marta made similar rude comments on Chinese and NBC surely loves Bela.
SpunkieMunkie 3 years ago 2
Let's get the truth: some American sore losers STARTED their nasty attacks on Chinese gymnasts. American coaches STARTED their racist attacks on Chinese girls. Bela called Chinese "half people"! They need to learn sportsmanship from Chinese, Russians, Romanians and other teams.
chinatheatre 3 years ago 2
chinatheatre, I have read some of your posts and all you like to do 24/7 is attack americans, say how much american gymnastics sucks, say how fat american gymnasts are, and how we are always sore losers.

alexgym09 3 years ago
If crying babies can be considered mature for QueenieQue and bad losers, the word "maturity" should be redefined in English dictionaries. Some Americans definately are using a different measurement to measure everything, from judging people's maturity to people's looks. Well, they use their fat standards to judge people's ages; that's why Bela called Chinese girls "half people". But to the standard of gymnastics fans all over the world, Bela looks like a half pig.
chinatheatre 3 years ago
QueenQie is a good example of American bad losers. We gymnastics fans in the world all enjoy Chinese performance. They are so beautiful to watch, not like most Americans' with bad forms. I am very happy for Chinese girls, they totally deserve the gold!
SpunkieMunkie 3 years ago
How could Liukin get higher score on UB than Yang? You can put a big yoga ball between her legs on her dismount! For all her landings on floor, Liukin either has crossed feet or separate legs to make her landings easier. She has never been deducted for those cheating tricks. Everyone knows that it is much harder to stick landing when a gymnast puts her legs together and points her toes. Kexin took a small step on her UB landing at TF because her legs glued together and toes beautifully pointed.
chinatheatre 3 years ago

Maybe not, but I beg Nasty to close her legs together. As a young girl, it is not so graceful to keep the legs apart. BTW, I appreciate Nasty's contribution by pushing the altitude of pak to a new low.
66QQ66 3 years ago 5
QuenniQue: Compared with Nastia Liukin's frog-like dismount, hugely separated legs, flat feet, and several other problems in a short uneven bar routine, Yang's is much much better and prettier! Perfect form, legs and feet glue together! Go back to check how ugly Liukin's dismount is if you are not blind! Of course, when it comes to Chinese or others, you have your magnifying glass in hand, ready to pick any minor imperfections from their performance.

teagarden8650 3 years ago
so that's the reason why she got lower score. she seemed to be having difficulties when going from the low bar to high bar.
gyuasg 3 years ago
Huh? This was for the team final which she had a higher score than the individual round. Techinically, she was scored fairly here but unfairly during the individual uneven bars competition. :(
Oh well, she's a sport!!! She's happy with her bronze and happy for team gymnast He Kexin and competetitor Liukin.
YTsockzAX 3 years ago
I think the judges really wanted Kexin to have the gold, so they marked Yang lower. If there was more space between kexin and luikin, then yang would have gotten silver. If Kexin wasnt already sitting on the gold, they would have given gold to Yang. The real outrage would have been if the British gymnast Tweddle would have won bronze, thereby knocking Yang out of the third position. Tweddle missed the bronze by 000.25. Also, i think Kexin did deserve the gold, because of the difficulty.
teagarden8650 3 years ago
He Kexin, Yang Yilin, and Liukin had the same 7.7 difficulty level so all was fair game. As I see it, each of these girls deserves the gold but it's who had the better day that Olympic day. I'm not sure what Tweddle's difficulty level were then...
I think if Yang Yilin were to get the gold that day and leaving Liukin with the bronze, THAT would have been an outrage.
YTsockzAX 3 years ago

YTsockzAX 3 years ago 3
I had the same thought, i thought she should have gotten the gold...
Cecilia149 3 years ago 5
My whole family did, too, and even my sister who is an ex-gymnast and highly supports the USA gymnastics team. She was shocked and so were we. Even Liukin expressed the same thought but what's done is done.
Although, I'm sure the 'accusations' would get the best of it though and I hate to imagine how worst things could have been for Yang Yilin and her teammates if she had won the gold. Plus, Liukin would end up with the bronze and imagine the chaos against the Chinese gymnasts after that...
YTsockzAX 3 years ago 2
ya, if lukin really ended up with bronze there will be a lot of chaos....
Cecilia149 3 years ago 2
i agree. but i really think yilin should have won the gold even kexin thought so too thats why she carried yilin..when they announce yilin's score even liukin was surprise that it was low. but what is done is done. yilin aim high on 2012.
chaoticstar16 3 years ago
yilin MIGHT be in the 2012 olympics because the chances of a female gymnast in china going twice is kind of low. but i still hope she is going to be in the 2012 olympic.
Cecilia149 3 years ago 2
She trains hard and I really do wish that she participates in the 2012 Olympic games, too, but if not, I hope she and her teammates do well in other competitions prior to 2012 London Olympic games. :)
Cheng Fei participated in 2004 and 2008...she also won the first gold for China prior to the Beijing Olympics. It's unfortunate that she didn't win the gold in the individual rounds.
The BB, FX, and VT gold's were hers to lose anyway... :(
YTsockzAX 3 years ago 2
Dude, Yang will defiantely come back if she doesnt get hurt. If the gymnastic federation changes to the rules to make the Olympic competition more artistry, the all-around will be Yang's to lose. Just look at her, she will grow another 2-3 inches, and i dont see her getting fat. All she needs to do is improve her beam. Of course, she will have to compete against her teammate Linlin for all-around. But Fei taught them all, that it is possible to do 2 olympics if you work hard.
teagarden8650 3 years ago
You have a point. I don't think height really plays a factor in how good a person is but determination, hard work, and faith can happen to a person. Cheng Fei is an example when she gained a few pounds in 2006 and was unable to perform a vault named after her, but she accomplished to learn it and lost the weight needed to still get recognizion for her vault for the next two years.
I wish to see ALL of the Chinese gymnastics team from Beijing 2008 to the London games in 2010. :)
YTsockzAX 3 years ago 4
Yang has already stated that she wants to model her routine after Svetlana Khorkina. So maybe height doesnt play a factor. But in Yang's case, i think her future height will actually make her a much better gymnast.
And Cheng fei's muscle mass is what makes her vault and floor so exceptional, compared to the younger gymnast that are trying to take her spot on the squad.
teagarden8650 3 years ago
What do you mean by 'model her routine'?
If Cheng Fei decides to not participate in the 2010 London games, I hope she becomes a mentor and a coach to other gymnasts. What can I say, there's no better way of mastering without a great gymnasts like her on the sideline, right?
:D
YTsockzAX 3 years ago
According to her, tall gymnast have different styles. And she said, that she would have to adjust her routine as she grows taller. And that she wanted her style to resemble Khorkina. Both of her parents are very tall, so i guess everybody is expecting a big growth spurt from her in the next several years.
I just dont think China can replace Fei on vault an fx. I read that is has been hard to find powerful Chinese girls to perform them. She will be back, China will pay her millions!
teagarden8650 3 years ago

She had two better 1.5 pirouettes here, but the other competition had a better landing.
