This is a case where 1) both the plaintiff and defendant are reasonable people and 2) there's an honest disagreement about what happened and what was supposed to happen. Even if this case came up today I don't think JJ would do a lot of yelling because she wouldn't have to yell.
I feel for the P getting attached to the child but they had to know that trying to force adoption before the D died was going to freak her out.
I feel sorry for the defendent, but to put a child back into the care of a person when her thigh bone was broken is insane. It is so hard to break a thigh bone without doing it intentinally. This P was trying to steal her child. This girl was lucky that her mother lived and she did not end up with these people. If she was on disablity how could she have cared for a little kid? Fat is not a disablity.
it's just too bad if the young child calls the sitter Mum, Mama, Mummy I guess when you are out of the childs life 85% of the time she wouldn't see you as mother.
@Potatopte I think this must have been a "special" case since she had been notorious for her fast decision making and wise-cracking judgements way before Judge judy. That's what made her a judge in criminal court. In fact she had retired already when they approached her with the judge judy idea, I'm guessing BECAUSE of her reputation.
Judy was so different then. To hear someone say "Um" and she doesn't say "Um is not an answer" is amazing lol.
