  • Great film. Love it.

  • I have this as part of a 4 film favorites: Horror DVD collection. The other three are Body Snatchers: The Invasion Continues, Wolfen, and Bad Moon.

  • It's from 1978, but its also the best unknown movies ever! Love it!

  • 2:10 dead magnum

  • Another reason I don't trust doctors or hospitals

  • @richintalent u dont know about the black magick aspect of the hospitals do u?

  • This is a great movie! The music is so errie, bit like Hitchcock's Pysco music but more scary . And the Jefferson institute looks scary.

  • i found the book in my aunts attic today. along with jorney to the center of the earth. plus a bunch of sappy romance crap.

  • One hell of a good movie.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • eh

  • @reidharr35 Do you mean the trailer sucks or the movie (if the movie is from 1978) ?

  • @reidharr35 Congrats on writing about somethin you know NOTHING about! - So let me get this straight, if a movie was from 1978 it sucks because people would scream at a nosebleed? HMMmmmm, how old are you? SRSLY? --- How about The Shining? Rosemarys Baby? The Exorcist? (famous 1970s scare flix)

I mean you posted something that was insanely dumb and immature, think again before you post about something u dont know about geez

  • @thenewnhlsux youtube such a serious place these are the things that matter.

  • @reidharr35

    the retared teens of today

  • @romerozombie85 what about mentally handicapped teenagers?

  • @reidharr35

    i don't know?

  • @reidharr35

And yet today all of the torture porn and blood and guts is sooo not shocking. It's just gross and unintentionally hilarious. Why don't you tell us all what scares YOU.

  • @compsciguy seeing a real person being decapitated.

  • @reidharr35

So...nothing in a movie scares you, only real violence. Well...remember that reporter that was being held hostage by terrorists. Alan Greene? Or something. He was decapitated on camera, and the video sent to the FBI. And his wife saw it. That's disgusting.

  • I hate hospitals and this movie enforces it!

  • lol dont have to watch the film now

  • God this movie creeped me out the first time I saw it. Great idea behind it all.

  • i remember seeing the movie poster for this and being totally creeped out...has a very Cronenberg type feel to it.

  • And who would've thought our CONGRESS

would create the modern day sequel/remake

    whatever......not to mention the President?

    What a MESS!

  • You are talking about Terri Schiavo, and the Republican interference?

  • Comment removed

  • @ATKillZ Monkeybone perhaps?

  • @ATKillZ it sounds kind of familiar but i can only come up with 'cool world'. not sure if that's what you're looking for though

  • The Book is very best

  • The movie scared the hell out of me.

  • I love this movie!! Richard Widmark was so frightening as the nut case Dr. He's almost as scary as Robert Mitchum in Cape Fear!!

  • I have the video and I want to get the DVD. It disgusted me how corrupt those doctors were by literally murdering patients that were alive and doing well so they could sell their organs because of how greedy they were. Doctors are supposed to help save lives, not take them, isn't that right? Geneveive Bujold's character was so courageous in that movie. I mean, that poor girl went through hell to solve the mystery. She had guts. Donating organs is legal only if the person is already dead.

  • I think, perhaps you should educate yourself further on this topic...How could they use the organs of "people who are already dead"?? They remove the organs while they are brain-dead....and that is when they really die...

  • LOL oh yeah I remember the scene with Tom Selleck wickedly cool film I like it. Ill have to keep an eye out for the region 2 DVD.

The late Richard Widmark I will not be checking into his hospital fuck no! He creeps me out!

  • This film still chills me to the bone. Great construction ...... and thanks for keeping Coma alive!

  • @seediermedia2

it says 2008 and yet tis movie is sooo old

    what the hell??

  • @darkangle70s

it's a recent, fan made, trailer.

  • Sorry, forgot to mention this is a very well constructed trailer.

  • I've seen 'Coma' about three times and it's always worth watching. One of Chricton's best films as a director with a very good cast, score and the mystery and tension are well developed.

  • I must have watched it at least 4 or 5 times many or so on Turner Network in W/S 1.85:1 during the mid 1990s.

  • Coma set a new standard in medical drama and suspense. Before this they were usualy romantic Dr Kildare type things or 'terminally ill tycoon's last hope' films with wooden acting and 'empty corridor' hospitals. This had fast tracking shots down long corridors, graphic medical procedures, and great sinister music.

The dialogue is very real life and doesn't bore at all. A very underrated movie.

  • I'm looking forward to seeing the movie because I was disappointed with the book's ending...very anticlimactic. And I didn't like that Susan and Dr. Bellows' relationship didn't have a proper ending.

  • If somebody have this movie on DVD or Tape, please send me a copy.

    Thank you!

  • I would love to see this movie. Can anyone post it? Great trailer.

  • I disagree from Dunderslag. It's a fine trailer and the sense of timing was crucial here. I like the way it starts with seemingly light, feel good, romantic scenes supported by the kitsch and mellow 70s theme. Then in a sudden turning point a nurse turns off the radio in the OR and the score assumes a sinister and insidious tone wich reaches its climax when the anesthesiologist reveals the inert pupils of the lifeless girl. From then on the trailer very effectively conveys suspense and paranoia.

  • Don't get me wrong. I'm happy to found the trailer here. But it gives the wrong impression of the movie.

If you watch the trailer it seems to be more of a shocking experience, even the feelings of a horror movie are there; but Coma itself has a strong story with a paranoid atmosphere. Especially the end of the trailer doesn't fit.

  • Very good movie - but not a good trailer.

  • This trailer is for the film that was made in 1978 (at least it has not yet been remade).

    RIP Michael Crichton 1942-2008

  • Wonderfully creepy Goldsmith score.

  • and isnt susan wheeler blonde?

  • yes, she is blonde, but always the movies aren't identical to the books

  • I know right...I remember someone calling her GoldieLocks from the book...haha. Also, the actress playing Susan has an accent. Her name's Genevieve Bujold (sounds exotic), and I viewed Susan from the book as an All-American girl. Interesting. I agree though that the book is more about real-life and feminism. There's also a sweet love story between Susan and Dr. Bellows. Basically, the story defined by the big mystery about the comas.

  • in the book, nancy greenly the girl who is in coma isnt susan's best friend. it's just that she feels connected with her because they are the same age and all that stuff.

they should re-make this movie, i really liked the book is creepy :P

  • Love it! :)
