  • can you tell the angle off the blades?

  • what is the diameter size?

  • The link is down

  • Why would you want to use something this stupid on a car? Modify the drive axle to turn it into a generator if you want to capture some of the extra energy every car produces but never uses. The balance issues would be more critical of course, but it is achievable.

  • It isn't difficult to build your own wind generator. Any auto mechanic or licensed A&P mechanic to do it for you or show you how. Plenty of places online to get the parts needed.

  • What kind of loads can it handle? How long does it take to charge up with both the solar and the wind charging?

  • where exactly did you buy this?

  • Meh

  • One Question, What does it do with it?

  • congrats on spending $200 on a turbine that gets 10 watts

  • Very nice!

  • You can find this thing on eBay under VAWT

  • If the barrel contained water, you could place a 4 inch pvc pipe through the lid. Make the shaft for the VAWT out of 3 inch pipe with a cap. Shaft would float-zero friction. You would have to mount your rotor to one surface, and the stator, to the other. Add a high energy coil and produce Ozone to clean water for drinking. Or just charge batteries, or pump the water from the wind source to the point of usage. I'm really jazzed about this idea, and I think I have to have one NOW !!

  • what is the name of the company that sells these? I am interested in the impeller part for adapting to treadmill motors. Looking for a good premade one .

  • Nice.

  • Nice door stop!

  • it seems that vertical ones are not as good as props although they might work better with variable geometry so they do go up wind on the return

  • I also want to know who you bought this from I want to get one but, would like to have a larger wattage like at least 50 for that price.\\

  • @1kzrider

    look it in ebay

    $ 199

  • What is the name of the ocmpany you purchased the Vawt from?

  • hey bro great video, I was wondering if you have the design specs for the blades and the angle you used for it?

  • What's the company's name?

  • Hope these come in the kW's? Then I would buy like 20 and them buy a lot of Batterys just incase the wind dies down and I would also buy at least 10 Solar Panels to then I should be all set and never pay for electricty again they will Pay Me mwahahahahaha gotta Luv Queensland Laws in Aus =)

  • I would like to know the name of the company where you bought this VAWT. I would like to buy one.

  • nice home built.

  • Ifs this something you built yourself?

  • No, I bought it from a company in New Jersey for $200 USD.

  • @envirosponsible What was the company? Will that put out enough NRG to run a house?

  • @clarkewi Google four seasons wind they have locations allover the country

  • @envirosponsible

Do you remember where you purchased this vertical wind turbine?

    Thanks,

    John

  • would it work on a car?.

  • That's a vague question. What do you mean specifically?

  • I think he meant, could you put this on a car and let the wind generate power for you. Not sure if the drag would overcome the power it would generate for you, possibly for making Hydrogen to power an engine. But its an interesting concept.

  • @envirosponsible strap it to the roof :D ? whats the wind rating on one of these things ? lol

  • @envirosponsible I guess he means that if you can FUEL a car with it, you know, instead of using gasoline you use this

  • @envirosponsible I think he means if you put it on the roof and then drive :p

  • @alpinemanlover

No he means put it on your hood as an ornament.

That way if you drive fast enough, you can generate enough power to keep your car going at that speed on the wind generator output alone.

  • @envirosponsible Hey, im sure that you have been asked a million times on this but where can I get one? I checked out your site but havnt seen anything on there.

  • @envirosponsible

    $200 for a 10W wind turbine........

    That is a great investment.

$200 gets me 80W of polycrystaline solar panels.

  • @lenlava

if you would be thinking of powering a car with it you would need to be realistik

a car weight a 1000lbs minimum ( the smallest like smart weigh more than that)

i takes kilowats to move a car even more to have it perform as a normal one . not even taking into effect the drag ot the assembly . shure it would power your radio and thats about it ...

  • @lenlava Well, it would make electricity, but it would cause the car to use more fuel, so the real effect is negative.
