how do you get the zodic spear before the still shime is ended

The earliest you can get the zodiac spear is right after getting the dawn shard - Mosphoran Highwaste opens up which leads to the Salikawood then the Necrohol of Naubudis. Be warned, it's quite difficult dealing with the enemies in the Necrohol of Naubudis, even at level 99. Fortunately, many end-of-game pieces of equipment become accessible as well, much of which in the Nabreus Deadlands, if you know how to get them.

I strongly dislike guest characters in FF12 - they seem quite worthless really, primarily because you can't control them and they're often weak.

There are times where I get a sudden spike in interest toward playing video games, and there are times where it drops to nothing for months. At the time I likely noted that, I was very likely in one of those long-lasting lulls.

That was done almost 2 1/2 weeks ago (and again 2 years before that). I just need to process the 16 GB MPG video (among several others).

16 GB videos? What do you record with? I noticed a lot of recording programs, such as FRAPS (which is what I use), record uncompressed video, leaving it up to the user to fix the video before submitting it.

I record with a TV tuner, in the MPEG-2 format. You'll need a Pentium 4 system (~2.8 GHz) or better to use MPEG-2. Otherwise, use MJPEG. MJPEG is what I use to record videos of my computer activities, which also works for games. FRAPS is only used for recording computer games, not console games. 16 GB is 5 hours at 8000 Kbps (I wished I could record at 12,000 Kbps instead but my TV tuner doesn't allow it). 60 MB of video is one minute. I use Virtual Dub and Audacity to process the video.

Starting out is very difficult (due to no cure being available for things like poison, disease, and paralyze (the latter curable by resting)), but now that I'm currently level 12, things are going better. I have yet to figure out what "hirelings" are or how stats are raised (aside from equippable items). I have yet to also figure out what armor is used for (it doesn't reduce damage). I found a place for easy experience and gold, starting around level 3 or 4 - the meeting of 250 merchants.

There's a lot more coming yet, but I have yet to process the videos. On top of that, I've also got a video explaining how you get level 99 early and quickly (and I did it in under 50 hours!). My current addiction to "Might and Magic" on the Genesis is slowing it down.
