This is one of my favorite plays in the pantheon of theater and I saw Derek Jacobi with the RSC perform it live so many years ago. I still have the T-shirt from the production in my drawer!
I watched this years ago; the last time was on Bravo, back in the 90's, before it turned into reality tv tripefest. I always wanted to see this production again but wasn't sure which it was; lo and behold thanks to the combination of IMDB and youtube here I am! Thank you very much for adding this.
I would immagine Jayne Tottma, has well and truly left the acting profession by now, and is likely working in a bank, a building society, an office, a library, running a pub, running a restaurant or even working as a car mechanic, Many child actors and actresses leave the acting profession, after a period because they don,t want to be professional actors and actresses and they want a more regular job or they are unlucky in the acting profesion and cannot make it as actors and actresses.
Thanks for posting this tour de force; I saw this production of Cyrano and the simultaneous run of Much Ado in London in 1983 and again on Broadway in 1984; I have very fond memories of that run and am delighted to see this here. It brings back some wonderful times.
thank you thank you thank you....this production changed my life...but it was 1983, not 85, i have it on beta max! its that old....I saw the fiennes version at chichester this year but was disappointing - even for trevor nun. This will never be bettered in my view.
THANK YOU , THANK YOU...... I have been babling to my friends about this version of Cyrano de Bergerac since I saw it on danish television in the late 1980's ......never thought I should be so lucky to see it again...Jacobi is Fantastic! and the rest of the cast is Great!

Thank you so much for posting this. What a shame, though, that they didn't use the superior Hooker translation :(

I love Cyrano de Bergerac and I was wondering if you had the play with Kevin Kline in it

Having read Cyrano and all of Shakespeares known plays ("The Norton Shakespeare"), it is a pleasure to see them. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this! This is my favorite version of Cyrano, and the version I use as a base of comparison to every other version.
