  • This is one of my favorite plays in the pantheon of theater and I saw Derek Jacobi with the RSC perform it live so many years ago. I still have the T-shirt from the production in my drawer!

  • what a romantic story --- in both senses of the word

  • I watched this years ago; the last time was on Bravo, back in the 90's, before it turned into reality tv tripefest. I always wanted to see this production again but wasn't sure which it was; lo and behold thanks to the combination of IMDB and youtube here I am! Thank you very much for adding this.

  • I would immagine Jayne Tottma, has well and truly left the acting profession by now, and is likely working in a bank, a building society, an office, a library, running a pub, running a restaurant or even working as a car mechanic, Many child actors and actresses leave the acting profession, after a period because they don,t want to be professional actors and actresses and they want a more regular job or they are unlucky in the acting profesion and cannot make it as actors and actresses.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. What a shame, though, that they didn't use the superior Hooker translation :(

  • Is this able to buy, its awesome????

  • i have a french test about this stupid story tomorrow, ugh ! and i didn't read the book, so I'm gonna watch it here now, maybe i'll understand it..

    WISH ME GOOD LUCK :D

  • This adaptation by Burgess is crisp and cunning. Thanks so much for posting it!

  • It looks great, but can't I just find anything in French? T_T

  • I love Cyrano de Bergerac and I was wondering if you had the play with Kevin Kline in it

  • Having read Cyrano and all of Shakespeares known plays ("The Norton Shakespeare"), it is a pleasure to see them. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks for posting this tour de force; I saw this production of Cyrano and the simultaneous run of Much Ado in London in 1983 and again on Broadway in 1984; I have very fond memories of that run and am delighted to see this here. It brings back some wonderful times.

  • Thank you for this! This is my favorite version of Cyrano, and the version I use as a base of comparison to every other version.

  • I play ligniere in the Burroughs high school play of Ridgecrest California!

  • This is the Best version of Cyrano ever. Derek Jacobi does a Fantastic job portraying The Heroic Cyrano. Thanks for posting this.

  • thank you thank you thank you....this production changed my life...but it was 1983, not 85, i have it on beta max! its that old....I saw the fiennes version at chichester this year but was disappointing - even for trevor nun. This will never be bettered in my view.
