Drilling is like a box of chocolates...you never know what your going to get. This is one hell of a SNAFU in the drilling industry. I have seen a lot in my 20 years of drilling but this is the worst I have ever heard of not to forget the Platform than blew all to hell in the North Sea in the 1980's and killed some 165 people.

But since everyone was technically 'safe' and nobody got killed (at least that I remember)...then this is a classic example of why the "measure 3 times, cut once" carpenters' phrase should be applied to most of the aspects in life.
