  • another very good and famous legend from yamaha

  • Pa-130 power supply replaced the pa-3b that originally shipped with the CS1x. Hope that helps.

  • recently got one of these, but the person who handed it down to me can't seem to find the ac adapter. do i need the specific yamaha hone that comes with it? or can i use any ac adapter that will fit?

  • @ebaggsnyc

You can use any other that fits (did it myself). It has to deliver enough power (Amperes) though.

  • what are the amp, voltage etc. specifics of your charger?

  • @ebaggsnyc

Not @ home right now, but:

    - Yamaha web site says use PA-3B

    - Web says PA-3B has specs: 12 V, 700mA, tip is plus

So, buy one with 700mA or *more* (mine has 1A, IIRC). Tip plus or selectable.

    Greetings from Germany.

  • What do you think of this compared to AN1x?

I know AN is a VA.. what I mean in terms of a performance/live/gig synth?

Which has the best arpeggiator and performance functions??

  • This was my first ever synth.

Great machine wich tought me a whole lot about synthesis and sound manipulation.

Didn't know squat about it at first but this machine with it's realy easy to use matrix was/is just perfect for a starting producer.

  • @djRen78

Yep, this was my first Synthesizer too - easy to use and actually very capable of decent Sounds. I still own it even trough i use it 93% the times as a Midi Controller for my Software Synthesizers. In Combination with some outboard effects like Vocoder,Filters,Ring Modulators etc etc etc you can really get decent Sounds out of this one...for Electronic Music only i will have to say. For Ambient or Trance Producers this is a wonderful starter Synth...

  • Thanx for posting this. I have a CS1x in mothballs right now due to me making a move. Anyway, I would throw the dems on once in awhile just for the heck of it...well...and to bug the neighbors.

  • Nop. They made cs1x and cs6x, and then stopped working in the csNx line. cs1x was the bomb for dance and house music back in early 90s.

  • uhr... and the CS2X.

  • Alright. I've researched. I don't think they do.

  • Oh man... that synthesizer is bad ass! Does Yamaha still make those?
