Those aren't glass mat batteries. They're either Trojan SCS225 or 30XHS, which are flooded batteries.

Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries usually do not fair very well in a NEV application. They need a high power charger and a balancing system to work properly and give good life.

Actually, this one has been upgraded big-time.

The controller is programmable -and I've set it for 40 mph tops. The faster you go, the shorter your range.

Cruising at around 30 mph gives you about 30 miles range. That's enough to get into town, go to three stores and come back..easy. Plus, I plug it in wherever there is an outdoor outlet and top off..extending range. A new set of Lithium batteries would give you 5 X that.
