Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

So I'm looking into recording my drum set. I'm pretty sure I have all the equipment. Audio mixer, interface, mics, cables, and the Sony Acid music studio 8 as well. Now I need help putting it together. Now I just want to know how I could get the software to like recognize all my mics into the software and record. If anybody has any suggestions it would really help.

You gotta download them, of course. Go to Acid planet . com and download the 8pack, which is new every week, or downlad some loop content from contests that are available. You don't actualy have to participate in the contest in order to download the loops. I have been able to create some music of my own using Acid Xpress. You can check out some my music on my channel.

You can use any file in Wav format. Loops are just files that fit well into songs and have a good repeat without gaps in it. You can make your own samples. Acid can sample directly from CD to make your own library of sounds you like and want to use in your songs. Or you can purchase precreated collections or search for free ones on the net.

how can I make my own loops which I can then put into my track, I just don't feel like I made them when I am using other peoples loops do you know what I mean?

@Simpleitireland I've got acid express and i also have the "best of 2008" loops collection however when i open the folder and open the zip file with all the loops on the acid express application does not notice that they are there, please help me (:

@invokehazza You have to unzip the file itself and stick it somewhere, like make a new folder for it. ACID won't recognize a file that hasn't been unzipped yet.

The samples are just .wav files. You can create them with free software like goldwave or download samples from sonys acid website. Sony release a new sample pack each month called an 8 pack with a sample tune and the bits that make it up. You could also Google free sound loops or free samples. Acid can also record from CD for you.
