I am 21 years old and i'm now starting Paxil medication. I am interested in your videos but unfortunately i can't understand everything from hearing your speech because i'm not a native speaker. i would be grateful if you could also write the text of your videos
Paxil, avoid it like the plague! I was diagnosed with PTSD from all the fuckin combat tours the Army gave me. The shrink put me on a cocktail (paxil 60mg, klonopin 4mg)being on them, I gained 25 pounds in six months. I was active; going to the gym, swimming and taking the dogs out. I just stopped taking them because i ran out of refills one day and this is horror, worse than my PTSD!!
July 2001 to July 2002 I took paxil (paroxetine); after 3months severe tension headaches started which I found out later calling distress lines pharmacy help lines the drug was toxic to me; it left me with malignant neoplasms brain per Baycrest Hospital Toronto; Hypothyroidism per Toronto Western.
Aunt Marion, Sister Debbie a buddy John Doran same head ache took further mood stablizers &/or antypical antipsychotics they are dead GSK or Ontario or Canada did nothing to help.
Ive been on Paxil for 9 years. Was being treated for anxiety and depression. Well, paxil really worked , but I gained 20 lbs. and became apathetic. I've attempted to get off paxil 3 times and & withdrawal symptoms were always horrendous.Chills, sweats, horrible pain in back, legs, arms and neck and headache. Most troublesome symptons were nausea and vomiting. I am attempting to get off paxil under the care of a physician, Withdrawls are still pretty bad and I'm nauseated all the time.
It can suck to drop paxil. I was on 40 mg and I overdosed on christmas day. I was shaking violently and my speach was very broken. I could not walk, swallow or breath very well. I am doing better now. I am on 20 mg and I hope to bach down to 15mg or so soon. I have to do it very slow and with out my doctor. I just cut my pills and dose that way. This has been complete chaos for me for more than 8 years. I hope that you did well J.D.
my dr put me on paxil 3 days ago 20 mg and i felt so messed up from it like i had no idea what was going on so today i just took half and felt really good until afternoon then really really sleepy with a headache.. i like it that i dont have nightmares on this drug but when im sleeping i cant tell if im awake or asleep? also when i wake up my hands and feet tingle until i take it again. im wondering now if its even worth it?
perscription drugs only mask your problems if they cured anything the pharmuctical industry would crash look how many people take this crap your killin yourself its a DRUG if you wanna feel good do some coke or smack
are caused by chemical imbalances in your brain. Talking about your emotions don't always work, if anything, they stir up more unwanted overeactions for me anyway.
yeah unfortunately they are preying on the sick. There is not one test they can do to prove this chemical embalance or that it contributes at all to the sickness. This is the reason they can never recommend you STOP taking it unless you start asking and WANTING to stop. It will never be recommended because they cannot test you to see things are better, no tests exist... There are REAL problems for sure, but they cannot be fixed with these drugs, eating right, dietary supliments/nutrients are key
I went from 20mg to 10mg with no problem. I've been taking 10mg for longer than I was taking 20mg. My fear is going lower, but I am going to ask my doctor to lower my dosage.
Learning about paxil makes me worried. I was put on paxil for the first time when I was 14 ( I am now 22) I now take a pill and a half every day (60 mg the max dose). I am just worried that if I go off of it, my anxiety will come back (it used to be really bad). I just have a question....why did you decide to go off of paxil? I'd like to know why others decide to stop taking it.
I was in a similar boat as you. I was put on paxil when I was 13 and I'm now 25. I recently tapered down and stopped taking paxil all together (been 1 week so far).
If paxil works for you and you're happy with your life, I'd say keep taking it. But be warned, if you ever want to stop taking it, expect to go through heroin-like withdrawal...
Having been on Paxil for over a decade, I can honestly say that it never made me better or less depressed. At one point I was on 60mg of paxil and 300mg of Welbutrin a day and I didn't feel any happier. I wasn't happier, so my shrink wanted to put me on a 3rd drug to go with the paxil and welbutrion! That's when I said enough is enough. All they were doing was drugging me to the point of retardation.
I hate having to post multiple posts (damn 500 char limit).
Using a drug like Paxil isn't a solution, it's a stop gap measure. It doesn't address the core issues which cause your anxiety or depression. That's what you need to focus on. Why are you depressed? What situations cause you to be anxious? Those are the questions that need to be asked (and answered) before you can be happy. No amount of drugs (legal or illegal) will cure your ailments, all they do is mask the pain.
I'm much better. Most or all of the paxil symptoms seem to be gone. I feel much better for the first time in over 12 years.
I still hate aspects of my life, but I'm finally working on addressing those issues instead of just taking drugs and avoiding them like I had done for years.
i basically did a 10% to 25% taper the whole way -- i went from 10 to 7.5 to 5.6 to 5 to 3.75 to 2.5 to...oh christ, i can't even remember now. all i know is i had to find the liquid and make miniscule drops. be careful; a lot of the side effects might take two to three weeks to kick in after each dosage cut. check out paxilprogress dot org if you haven't already :)
first, wow: WHAT a freaking amazing idea; honestly. this is fantastic, and i really wish i had chronicled my entire tapering debacle. i am SO excited to see your future posts! second: your doctor's advice isn't the greatest -- 20mg to 10mg is WAY TOO BIG of a jump. to put it in perspective, it took me 7.5 months to wean off of 10mg of paxil.
I never had side effects.I take other meds for depression to.
