240p= 64kb/s MP3

360p= 96kb/s AAC BASELINE (default quality when video is loaded)

360p= 128kb/s AAC MAIN (unclear what this means)

480p= 128kb/s AAC

720p= 152kb/s AAC

1080p= 152kb/s AAC

The human auditory process (from ear drum to brain signals) cannot significantly differentiate (especially on average sound systems, as mentioned in my first post response) between 128kb/s and 152kb/s. As confirmed on youtube's website, the standard Sample Rate is 44.1khz, the standard for CDs.

@MacNelsen Theoretically, sure. But, when I play 24-bits through my Bose 901s and compare them to my 16-bits of the same shows, I hear a difference. When I play a 24-bit rip of a virgin Aoxomoxoa vinyl and compare it to the 16-bit version of the same recording, I hear a difference.

Then again, when I take tests with an audiometer, I hear below 0 decibels, into negative decibels. I have a great ear. Maybe most people can't hear it, but the difference between 24 and 16 IS meaningful.
