  • Wales has passed on<

  • This is nice...even people from Canada can enjoy this ;)

  • I briefly sang with all three of the Wells brothers (George, Wes and "Cool") during the late eighties. I was brought to the group by my brother and friend, Wales Wallace. We recorded two songs, while I was with them. One being "Duckies" and the other "Ain't No Joke When It Comes To Dope". Both produced by Tom Tom 84. Wales died in 1998. I miss my buddy very much.

  • This was also BIG on WKNR in Detroit Every time I listen to this I think back to the fall of 1969 and listening to this in my 64 Mercury

  • Guess that answered my question!! Great song, and this Date 45 is still in my repertoire -goes perfect with (I like to mix decades) Claudja Barry's (1976) "Why Must a Girl Like Me." Thank you for posting this and sharing it!! DAVEDJ

  • Oh man just listening to this I can hear me, zeke his brother joe and the other guys back in Chicago singing this at parties. we also saw them at altgeld park and the guy burst his drum. i remember Black Main's sister Moochie dancing to this song they played this song over and over to see moochie dancing . BUSTER(bilbo2shire)

  • I grew up with this song my dad was a member of the group.Leonard Truss

  • You forgot to mention Detroit. This was a huge song at CKLW!

  • are the steelers still performing on the westside

  • the steelers were performing as of last year, but what venues i'm not sure. they did the chicago music awards show last year.

  • oh yeah! i used to hear this song on WGRT in chicago but in the summer of 1970. they were in concert in the lake meadows shopping center in august then. i saw them there with my grandmother.

  • brill track ktf mate

  • Now I wonder how they got their group name. The pro Steelers, at this time, were simply awful. This group, however, did manage to place this particular song on Billboard's soul charts in 1969.

  • wasn't wales wallace a member of the steelers at one point? gr8 pics from my hometown..chi-town 4 ever!!

  • YES! that's what i've heard, along with a couple of brothers. the wells brothers. fred, you know your stuff. i'm not sure if wales is still around or not.
