  • What you western people know about him are myths invented by the Transylvanian merchants.Impaled the old people and the children ? Seriously ? How stupid can you be to say smth like that ? Vlap Tepes was not how these so-called intellectuals describe him ! These western i-know-how-its-been people ! He didn't impale his people, he impaled thiefs and traitors ! And he impaled the nobility because they disobeyed his orders ! Don't forget He was the voivode, not the others.Discovery did this ? shit.

  • Alot of this is total bullshit, He did impale people, make no mistake but for crimes, serious ones that would've meant death in other emerging nation states so he was not a stand out, he didn't drink blood, he didn't murder women or children, it was terror yes, threat of force without actually doing it and the people he did execute deserved it, the common man loved him because he gave them liberty from tyrants, not Muslim nor Christian, but foreign tyrants

  • @lion3p0 I'm glad there is people like you that think and don't buy any shit.

  • Vlad's my hero... Haha what sick bastard

  • Hi,cine pote sa-mi spuna care este acest castel din film,ca as vrea sa vizitez ruina...ms mult

  • As the God Damned Romans perfected crucifixion as a torture execution, so the God Damned Turks perfected impalement as a torture execution. Victim lying face down on ground, stake into ass, forced through body out at shoulder by pounding with mallet or by soldiers pulling on ropes tied to legs.

  • They also would be shot by Romanians today if they said this bullshit in public.

  • A lot of this stuff eg, the dipping bread in blood and impaling children and old people, sounds like propaganda, history is written by the victors, and it makes sense for them to demonize a man who opposed them. The printing press is just as deadly as a sword. He probably was a tyrant, but things get exaggerated.

  • Muslims are crazy but good either Christians understand thugs such as Dracula

  • He impaled children and old people because they were useless? That perverted hypocritical piece of crap! Hope he enjoys rotting in hell.

  • The curious thing is that he was called "the Impaler", but actually he wasn't the inventor of that method. He took it from the Turks!

I think that both Turks and Crusaders had committed their great deal of awful things trough history...

He wasn't worse than his contemporaries, maybe on some reguards he was even better than some of them. And in the end, he fought the Turks for his Land, to protect it from invasion.

  • @TheAkela89 he's called "the impaler" cuz impalement was his most used metod of killing enemies, thieves etc...

  • why do everybody talk about something without knowing anything about it? many people get upset about the moslems and "their" methods...do they forget all the crusades in history? that was probably the christian answer to the cihad. what a fuck! in history every empire tries to dominate other nations and claim the worl for themselves. no one has handeled the other one with "two-hand touch"

  • wow, so how come vlad is so well liked in most of east europe and why is he liked by the romanians, whom he supposedly tortured so much????? compared to his time yeah he doesn't seem to be that much worse, secondly he was fighting against the turks who were well known for their torture metjods, man give me a break, this will probably feed the stupid ass western perception of him in the west. some of the more insane inhumane brutality were not confirmed by east european or romanian writing.

  • fuck the ottomans, go vlad!

  • ughh the other guy's nose got cut off........ well atleast he cant smell the dead bodies anymore ....

  • I cannot deny that he was a madman, But so is osama bin ladin. Vlad kept the insane muslims trying to force their mad stone age ways on everyone out of Europe. He did what was necessary to deal with scumbags who are so insane that they send their OWN children out to commit suicide while trying to kill others as well. He kept the insane muslims in their rightful place. In Turkey. He stopped the insane spread of islam. He learned his tactics from the mad muslim barbarians themselves.

  • @quietwarvictim You didnt see anyone in Islam impailing thousands of their own people, leaving them rotting in their own cities.

  • @Graftin2006 Do your research. Vlad Tepes LEARNED impalement from the turkish muslims which is where he first saw it happening as a child.

  • @Graftin2006 well you're wrong :) Vlad lived his childhood and adolescente in istambul and therefore educated there. So is not wrong to guess that he learned from the best , impaling and other stuff.Well that after that it happend to impale the turks , well that 's just badluck. They should've not teach him that :D

  • @quietwarvictim So he is a hero because instead of allowing the Muslim Turks to torture and kill the Romanian people he did it himself? No offence but that is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. Personally if someone was going to shove a greased pole up my anus I'm not really going to take comfort from the fact that it is a 'Christian' rather then Muslim.

  • @AussiePersian You can dispute whether or not he is a hero with the country of Romania and the Romanian people because he most certainly IS considered to be a hero there. I've studied Vlad Tepes and others back then and they were intolerant towards others who were tolerant of the "mohammadans" just the opposite of leaders today. But there was a REASON they were that way back then. Don't think I support impaling people however. LMAO!

  • @quietwarvictim

Well I actually know quite a few Romanians and they don't consider him a hero more of a myth. My point is you need to set a higher standard for who you consider a hero. The man was quite clearly insane and killed a lot your own people. And in the end he didn't manage to keep Romania from fulling under Turkish rule.

  • @AussiePersian I don't know any Romanians and I am not Romanian. I like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman lol. They don't kill. They obey the law. Vlad Tepes grew up around the turkish muslims. THAT'S my point. THEY had a BIG influence on him and research suggests that he HATED them.

It wasn't turkish rule though it was islamic rule. If someone repelled invading hordes from your land that would force you under a way of life that you considered evil or unholy then he would be a hero.

  • @AussiePersian To European Christians back then the muslims were the infidels. Which is what they called them. "The first Crusade began in 1095… 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople" get the picture yet?

  • @quietwarvictim " 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.

By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world."

  • @quietwarvictim "Europe had been harassed by Muslims since the first few years following Muhammad’s death. As early as 652, Muhammad’s followers launched raids on the island of Sicily, waging a full-scale occupation 200 years later that lasted almost a century and was punctuated by massacres, such as that at the town of Castrogiovanni, in which 8,000 Christians were put to death."

  • @quietwarvictim "In 1084, ten years before the first crusade, Muslims staged another devastating Sicilian raid, burning churches in Reggio, enslaving monks and raping an abbey of nuns before carrying them into captivity.

In 1095, Byzantine Emperor, Alexius I Comneus began begging the pope in Rome for help in turning back the Muslim armies which were overrunning what is now Turkey, grabbing property as they went and turning churches into mosques."

  • @quietwarvictim "Several hundred thousand Christians had been killed in Anatolia alone in the decades following 1050 by Seljuk invaders interested in 'converting' the survivors to Islam.

Not only were Christians losing their lives in their own lands to the Muslim advance but pilgrims to the Holy Land from other parts of Europe were being harassed, kidnapped, molested, forcibly converted to Islam and occasionally murdered."

  • @quietwarvictim "The greatest crime of the Crusaders was the sacking of Jerusalem, in which 30,000 people were said to have been massacred. This number is dwarfed by the number of Jihad victims, from India to Constantinople, Africa and Narbonne, but Muslims have never apologized for their crimes and never will. What is called 'sin and excess' by other religions, is what Islam refers to as the will of Allah." Now do you understand where I'm coming from at all?

  • @AussiePersian

What they fail to mention is that it was lawbreakers and traitors who got the shaft. Break the law, get punished. Too complicated?

  • @AussiePersian He didn't kill any Romanian, he impaled thief and traitors.

  • @quietwarvictim Mad stone age?... Byzantium was defeated by what was a modern weaponry at that time... Now at that time, London was a stone age compared to Istanbul....

  • @quietwarvictim hahahaha your a simpleton

  • Question: Where did Vlad Dracula learn impalement from?

Answer: The barbaric muslim slime. Case Closed.

  • he made the islamic extremists forget about jihad and go home. He's got my vote! He made the "islamist" barbarians realize that Europe didn't want sharia law or scumbag islam. He therefore is a hero!!!!!!

  • He did however put all the sick, old, and unwanted population in a church and locked it, then set fire to the church. That does end the homeless problem though.

  • I apologize for my opinion but I must say that this english historian is an AMATOR!

Vlad never impaled his own people, children or elders except the spies, lazy people, thiefs and traitors. The romanians that were impaled were the dead ones and its purpose was to bring down the turkish morale. He never drunk blood, he never put his bred in blood.I am dissapointed to see that an english hystorian is using Bram Stoker fantasmagoric literature

  • The guy is american imho. I really hate the way he talkes.. so slowly and trying to sound very important. But he sounds like he's been smoking pot LOL.

  • Okey guys lissen the world havent always been so peacefull, no telefons no mobiles, and u have to keep the people tho gether so they dont do revolt, the u do this thins... iv would have done it if i had the balls for it....

  • He wasn't impaling his own people.

He did that to his enemys, the turkish soldiers that were captured as hostages.

Look for what Ottomans did to Chritians that time, and then speak.

They were religion fanatics that were killing christians just because they were Christians.

  • lol man, what do we have here, A LITTLE MUSLIM HATER, YES U ARE, YES U ARE.... look at the 16 Crusades christians did against the holy land, and thene speak, Regards from sweden

  • first off the female historian is neither male or American. second you shouldn't have to impale ppl for not working, like children. third these events are recorded, these historians and professors are not merely geenrating their own viewpoint. And according to Vlad' point-of-view, you probably wouldv'e been impaled also for stupidity and laziness i reckon'

  • well is quite weird that in this documentary the only documented argument broght here is a letter of the father of Vlad in rest i'm only hearring the words of some American historians....Word do not give any credibily if they are not supported by documents. Vlad, cruel ? yes Mad ? probably but.. not forget his regim cleaned the streets of beggers, thiefs .For us seems cruel ,but for the society of that time.Impaling was also a psychological war tactic against the Turks.

  • In Vlad's own words -: "I have killed men and women, old and young...23,884 Turks and Bulgarians without counting those whom we burned alive in their homes or whose heads were not chopped off by our soldiers...

    At the end,Vlad's head was chopped off by the Turks end sent to I S T A N B U L ;)

  • There was much propaganda at that time regarding the cruelties of Vlad. While much of it was probably true, it is hard to seperate the myth his enemies created. Whatever the case, the Ottomans were a greater evil than Vlad the Impaler Prince.

  • "Christian" I don't think so.

  • the way he inserts the stake in them made me vomit
