Adnan & his regiments actually waited for the Japs to surrender, the moment they met the first Japanese troops they immediately wave flags of surrender & offered their services for the Japs. Disgusted with them for not offering any challenge the Japs ordered them to line-up and were shot and were stabs w/ bayonets. Thats the true story. Stop believing in those malayan invented stories.

We lacked modern arms in S/E asia and were tacticly poor. We let Singapore, Malay, Australia & NZ down. The Jap assault was clever, but Percival surrendered to prevent a bloodbath of the local population. Ironic considering what followed.

Omg...the Arisaka rifle is the worst single bolt action one could ever get. The Japs thought if making a one hit kill using that rifle...and designed it that way...as a one hit kill.
I would rather use the Kar87, M1 Barret, MP40 and the STG 44.
Having the Arisaka rifle is a suicide...so as the Nambu pistol and their light machine guns.

stop believing in that Lt. Adnan story. My grand uncle fought in Malaya. Adnan & his regiments actually waited for the Japs to surrender, the moment they met the first Japanese troops they immediately wave flags of surrender & offered their services for the Japs. Disgusted with them for not offering any challenge the Japs ordered them to line-up and were shot and were stabs w/ bayonets. Thats the true story. Stop believing in those malayan invented stories.

The Brit Imperial Def Plan for S/E Asia was in tatters even before the Jap invasion. It relied on modern fighters and RN defending Malay and Singpre, both of which were not available because of war with the NAZIS. Singapores loss is a stain on our history. We lacked modern arms in S/E asia and were tacticly poor. We let Singapore, Malay, Australia & NZ down. The Jap assault was clever, but Percival surrendered to prevent a bloodbath of the local population. Ironic considering what followed.
