One of the first JAZZ records I ever heard, long ago now!,was this tune.A tremendous tour de force on the piano, quite up to this amazing player's superlatively high standards.A real gem! An a deep, deep bow to Mr.Warner in recognition of his talents too!
I'm going to have to get a camera that'll allow me to zoom in and out during recording... I got one video of this trio at Sutter Creek, yet to post. Wish I had gotten Hal's great drum solo during the Saturday concert. Ah well. btw typo: it's Cow-Cow Blues, by Cow-Cow Davenport.
Posted another with Sonny in it last night. Have a few more with him yet to post too. As you're into jazz more than ragtime, check out also the video I have of Brad Kay playing Dew Drop Alley Stomp. You'll love the Clarinet Marmalade performance when I post it, with Sonny on piano, Marty on tuba, Brad on cornet and piano, Patrick Aranda on piano and trombone, and Kitty Wilson on washboard.
Youmight ought to listen to it again a couple of times. I listened to this delicious performance all the way through again, and did not experience any difficulty with the beat. I thought it was great! If there might have been any problem it would have been with the mediocre videocam ability of the camera man.

Hi Ron!
Thanks for the info above.
I fixed the write-up accordingly.
I enjoyed the 2 videos of Sonny and Marty!
Hey, when you are close you don't need the zoom, but it sure is nice sometimes, and adds more interest to your final product.

Great performers, but something was wrong with the beat on this one. They didn't seem to be together. Comments Tom?
