  • U sound like yogi bear lol!

  • Cute

  • Looks like my pet T, so it's probably a Chilean Rosehair tarantula. Cute, nice find!

  • Omg the puppy!!

  • Haha it walked with it's abdomen in the air XD. Love it when they do that.

  • cute lil T <3 i would pet it

  • I would kept it as a pet:)

  • I thought the fangs were in the back.

  • when i lived in southern california I lived in LA near down town in a place called Highland Park. I never saw any tarantulas there. is it because riverside is more desertish

  • @mexiluvsw Definitely more desert like where I live. We have a very similar climate to Palm Springs - maybe 5 degrees cooler on average. With all the development nearby, we don't see tarantulas anymore. Their habitat has been taken and replaced with tract homes.

  • Awwe! he was such a cute puppy! <3

  • wow souther california huh its probly in sandiego. I live in south eastern AZ and we gat these all the time but i never kill them because they eat allot of pest grasshoppers and such. i just do what you did when they get in my way, gently re-locate them :) great vid! love the cute furry critter (dog)

  • @mexiluvsw We live about 1 hour north of San Diego and about 30 minutes south of Riverside.

  • cute

  • Why do dogs have a fascination with spiders?

I get tarantulas in my backyard all the time, and one time, when I was trying to get my dog from outside, I noticed he had something in his mouth. It was a tarantula. It bit him. XP

  • i somehow...like it.

  • There's tarantulas in Cali! Awww. I want to move to Cali so bad when I grow up but I HATE HATE HATE spiders!! D:

  • @DesTay95 Not to worry. California is a huge place with many different climates like mountains, ocean, desert, etc. Tarantulas are not everywhere in California. I was born and raised here and the tarantula in this video was the first time I ever saw one in person. We just happen to live in a desert like location where tarantulas also live. Since this video I've only seen three more.

  • Wow, it looks like it's gliding like a ghost :)

btw if I saw that I'd scream.

  • EEEEEK, If i saw that i would run a mile

  • it walks like a spider ...o, yeah. XP

  • that dog is probably full grown now huh?

  • @BlackIce700 Yep...he's been full grown for about 9 years now. I think I get more comments about the dog than I do about the tarantula. 8-)

  • lol that spider is gangsta haha just walkin along like shit let em haterz talk xD

  • STEP ON ITTTTTT

  • That spider's so cool; just look at him strollin' about like he owns the place, thinking "haters gonna hate"...

  • I hate spiders so much ! But i love tarantulas. Probably because they move slowly and don't scurry.

  • Your dog is the cutest thing EVER!!

  • I love how he's delicately walking on his tippy toes.

  • Thank GOD I live in COLD Denmark :D

  • that is so cute the tarantula and the puppy and i thought it was funny when you were doing funny talk to the puppy i laughed so hard that i poped when you said "you dont take any crap of a tarantula" arr dude your so funny

  • Good thing the pup didn't get bit. Although tarantulas are not deadly to humans, they can be deadly to dogs and cats.

  • i would scream my loungs out dude IM SCARED OF TARANTULA'S BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO :(:(:(

  • I love that dog. =D

  • oooh my god :O

  • Fuck the spider that dog is ADORABLE!

  • ITS HUGE!!!

  • how long does a tarantula live? now im starting to like it, after fearing all my life!

  • @freeaworld Male tarantulas live about 1 year (plus or minus 6 months) depending on species and environment. Female tarantulas live 10 to 30 years depending on species and environment.

  • @GregSr ***1-5 years for males. They aren't normally sold until they are a sub adult (almost full grown) however.... Just clarifying :)

  • @ipokepenguins89 You probably know more about tarantulas than I do. I got my information from Wikipedia. I'm guessing that a properly fed tarantula in captivity will easily outlive a tarantula in the wild.

  • @GregSr certain tarantula species can live up to 20-30 years in captivity :) just thought i'd say

  • @ollieforb1 Thanks for the info. I don't know much about tarantulas except for what I read in Wikipedia.

  • If i saw some shit like that In my Backyard, Id move to Antartica..

  • dublin was playing with it. wtf hahahaha

  • poor spider

  • if i could have 8 eyes i could see alot better

  • if i had 8 leggs i could move alot faster!

  • O Na thats a big ass spider HONEY get the Shotgun

  • Oh okay. How often do you see these? I'm moving to Socal soon.

  • Why's his ass in the air like that? Is that normal?

  • @MickeySHFOF It's not normal. My dog had been harrassing it before I got the video camera. The spider was still agitated and in a defensive posture by the time I started taking video.

  • @MickeySHFOF Cause he's showing off his goodies.

  • I wouldnt know how to kill this bad-boy. Decisions decisions!

  • I thaught it was a fake spider/ tarantula at the start , because off the way it walked, but damn that is real :O lucky i live in england and these dont come in to our backyard , xD so cute

  • Tarantulas are the baddest. \o/ I want one.

  • Looks a little like the Aphonopelma I caught in Texas 10 years ago. I named her Desi, and I still have her.

  • TAKE OUT YOUR NET IT WILL CHASE YOU

  • be careful of the urticating hairs that some tarantulas "flick" from their abdomens

  • what did u do to the spider

  • @miguelzepeda20 I didn't do anything prior to making the video. My dog had been barking at it. After the video, I let the spider crawl onto a shovel and moved him to a nearby field - unharmed.

  • The tarantula is kinda cute :) It looks like the ones in animal crossing.

  • hes got a good swager walk! thumbs up if u agree!

  • its cute:)

  • i actually thought it was kinda cute the way it walked.

  • Lol. Walk it out Mr. Tarantula!

    Dublin is absolutely adorable. :3

I didn't know they had tarantulas in southern California.

  • thumbs up if you would have screamed your head off!

  • i had 2 tarantulas named Gina and Yvette

  • cute dog =)

  • ew mannnnnnn

  • lol "i think his fangs are in the front actually" um, yeah that's a fair call my friend :P

  • nice spider, cute puppy

  • lol thats the weirdest tarantula I've ever seen

  • KILL IT!!!!!!

  • I be like. ....I want that tarartula.......give it to me. But it's wild so i wouldn't be that mean XD And your puppy is gorgeous

  • thats so fucking gross

  • KILLL ITTTT lol i joke.

  • Fake

  • damn I would take my hockey stick and BAAAM it to the moon xD

  • what state is this, i own 7 tarantulas

  • @MrJoshdixon123 This is in southern California maybe 40 miles inland from the coast.

  • I love it how it almost seems as if the spider tiptoes across the floor. It must be quite a lot of work to get all those legs working properly!

  • my dad has had trantulars (spelling) n yh if they fling there hairs at u it bloody hurts n u cant get em out he found out the hard way lol

  • @jokaa09 'n yh'?

  • Awe! Awesome vid and yes, Dublin is ridiculously adorable.

I hope you're managing to co-exist with those sometimes creepy critters wandering through your backyard. They can be a wee bit spooky but they sure are interesting!!

Cheers from Canada! (where we don't have tarantulas wandering through our backyards). :P

  • "shiver" eww

  • aww cute dog!!!

BUT scary spider!!!eeekkk i'm always so terrified by spiders...

  • It's fascinating how crossed pair of legs go together.

I like them but I'm afraid of spiders! Even if they tell me they're safe I couldn't be close to one!

  • he is a spider you tard

  • Are you really too stupid to know sarcasm when you hear it? I could tell you were just a kid by the immaturity of your comment. Oh well...I guess kids can play on YouTube also.

Your lack of self esteem is evident by your need to put others down...for no reason.

  • actually most of the population on youtube r kidz...

  • @GregSr Monster kill!!!

  • what a beautie yea shes a beautie i ment the spider i think its a girl going by the size

  • i think that tarantula is kicking some hairs be careful or u will get some hairs stuck in u

  • your dog is so cute haha, i saw one just like it at my local petsmart :) so cute

  • The Dog is sweet.Keep a eye on your dog.The Tarantula can kill him

  • Tarantulas are amazing creatures. Which happen to be very misunderstood. There is absolutely now ay that tarantula could seriously harm a dog.

Have you ever heard of a person who died from a tarantula?

Thats because it does not happen! Only in the movies....

  • shooot it!!

  • Dublin is so cuuuuute !!!!!!

  • ten legs??

  • what a sweeeet dog

  • It's funny how I get as many comments about the dog as I do on the tarantula. 8-)

  • man!! i hate when the walk like this!!! ahh!!!

  • i love your dog how old is the dog

  • The dog's name is Dublin. At the time of the video he was probably 8 to 10 weeks old. He's about 7 years old now.

  • nice dog at the end :)

  • if i found a tarantula i'd keep the fucker lol

  • its purty

  • its a girl

  • Some 1 get the Lighter and deo we're gonna fry!

  • Mother get the hammer!

  • he's not nasty lol, he's gorgeous

  • Omg thats BIG....Kill it with fire!!!

  • I concur. I would need a flamethrower though. I'd be calling animal control to get rid of that thing. Dog is awesome, trying to drive away The Evil Thing.

  • all I can say is thank you for not killing it, there are so many others that record them finding Ts in their houses and then they kill them, but what they don't know is if you kill them more of them will show up! But thanks again for letting this misguided T have a chance at life!

  • lol i totally agree i used to be afraid of spiders until l i learned about them and now i own a pink toed and rosed haired!

  • Wonder why it has it's abdomen raised so far up. I've only seen tarantulas do that when they didn't like the substrate the owner put in the cage. I can't see any clubs, but since it's so far out in the open I think it might be a roaming male. Females tend to wait close to their burrows while males tread long distances to find them. Their lifespans are unfortunately a lot shorter than the females.

  • You obviously know more about tarantulas than I do. Just prior to taking the video, our puppy had been harrassing the spider. That's how we discovered the tarantula...from all the barking.

I think the spider was still in a defensive posture when we discovered it.

After it calmed down, I let it crawl onto a shovel and I re-located it away from my house. It crawled away and I never saw it again.

  • Ah, then that would explain the butt in the air. Hehe! I think it's cool you klive so close to wild tarantulas.

  • I think it's rear is up because it is about to flick the hairs at you in self defense. They sting and have venom in them. This thing would scare the life out of me, you sound so calm on the tape!

  • hey i am trying to decide weather i should keep this tarantula i found. i will only keep a female. i found it at school. it looks small according to my physics teacher. i brought it home and it won't eat the crickets i give him. he has a brown body. i live in texas

  • The arachnoboards team might be able to ID your tarantula. Does it wonder/climb the walls a lot? If so, it could either be a mature male or still settling in. Might not be eating if it's in premolt.

  • i really don't care anymore it is eating now. it doesn't burrow it stands in the middle of the terrarium or on top of a log

  • what kind of dog is it

  • you could get some good money for it

  • his teeth are in the front and he walks like a spider

  • Omg.. It's Big :s

  • Waaww,, i like this spider :|

    Can I Take Him, PLEASE?!

  • "He walks like a Spider" xD

    Awesome how it walks.

  • ur dog is so cute

  • aww!! cute dog

  • Glad to hear you let it go, it looks like a male out searching for some love.

  • are there tarantulas in south caroilina

  • 0_0!!!!!!

  • i came here to see the tarantula but you have the cutest puppy ever!

  • Aww, I wish I could find tarantulas in my backyard. I have a pet Rose Hair named Charlotte and I absolutely adore her!

  • why was the spider's butt up so high, rofl.

  • He is sticking his "arse" up because my dog was bothering him. It's a defensive position. I didn't have the video camera going until after my dog was bothering him but the spider was still nervous.

  • ohohoh, i gotcha now, thanks!

  • *spider walks up to you* "sup" *walks away* *thinks what the hell was he pointin at meh

  • i would have DIEEEEEED!

  • Oh shit O.o Big ass spider :oo

  • that dog is awesome

  • lol looks like he just went to say sup and walked away

  • "daaah?" hahaah great :D

    nice spider out there :)))

  • lol its small:p

  • Your puppy is gorgeous! Must have been quite unnerving seeing a huge spid strolling round your yard! Glad you let him out in a field though

  • It looks like it has 10 legs

  • tarantulas have 8 legs -_-

  • The front most 'legs' are actually called pedipalps, used to assist in feeding and, for males, in mating.

  • tarantulas have 8 lets not 10 -_-

  • is that his arse sticking up? and do tarantulas often come to play in Americans' backyards?

  • He is sticking his "arse" up because my dog was bothering him. It's a defensive position. I don't think tarantulas are common throughout the US - but they are fairly common in hot desert areas like parts of southern California.

  • well now i know where not to go. :)
