The only thing that has happened is that the news misrepresented the actual way the checks were being processed they left out the fact that it starts at 300, i thought the same thing 600 for me then 3 per child i would have gotten 1200 back but its 3 for u and 300 per child if u r head of household and single its 6 for married it explained it in the pamphlet they sent out they didnt express that it went by ur income as well so i only got 900 back because two kids and i only made 22000 that year

"fine print" details of this thing...sort of like they wrote us a screwed up contract where we are thinking we are getting more, but then you read the "fine print" that says "unless of course, you are single". It's discrimination, I believe.
just kidding in my remark below...I can explain it for you though...that Check by the government is to make you feel better and if "everyone" spends it, it will help the economy. But not everyone will be spending it. It's just so the President looks like he is doing something good. But it won't help. People won't forget Katrina, Iraq, healthcare or the countless other things he has messed up on. It will do nothing. You will still need to pay the taxes on it at the end of the year I believe.
