if someone can relay the message to Drew Barrymore to please check out my youtube channel, nobody else need bother...actually I guess there's no one to relay the message either...thanks
You should never - and yet you absolutely must - listen to 'Sea Change' right after a girl dumps you. It'll shred your broken hear to a million little pieces.
I wouldn't call Beck underrated, cause Odelay and Sea Change are highly regarded and stuff. Loser has also been called one of the "Best Songs of the 90's" by many sources, so yeah...
this sounds nearly happy compared to the album version - its full of hope... awesome how the 2 performances truely gave a totally different of mood. like them both, beck is one of our bests artists today
this sounds nearly happy compared to the album version - its full of hope... awesome how the 2 performances truely gave a totally different of mood. like them both, beck is one of our bests artists today
i love this song its one of the greatest songs of it's kind ... most people have no idea what its about at the bar till they ask me and I tell them.. a guy is deliberatly leaving his girl but its hard so hes pushing her away
I sure agree with myspacewill: interesting guy, interesting moves, but sea change is the only stuff I've heard of his that makes me want to listen again.....It's as though he discovered the meaning of the word 'melody'.....
i don't mean to bash but why can't beck's other albums sound like this one? it sounds like for the first time he reaches for depth and now, like before he's back to weird dancy comical stuff. man i love sea change. doesn't sound like any album he's ever made or sadly ever will. does anyone know what prompted him to write this album?
I'm a huge Beck fan that loves everything he's done. His last two albums have been heavily produced and I've loved them despite some people saying they are sub par, which I could care less about the critics but I think Beck should make an acoustic album for his next album.
Really cool that Jason and Roger(from Jellyfish)both contributed to Sea Change with Roger being in Beck the longest. Since Roger joined back in 97'-98' Beck's music has changed for better or for worse. Like it or not Beck was one of Roger's first seedlings and the two created some magic together.
I know what you mean mate I was in a relationship with a girl who suffers from Bipolar Disorder and its heartbreaking. But I had to leave the situation. And she keeps contacting me but its tiring and Im tired of it. This song sums it up very well. Maybe beck has gone through something similar. And thats why he wrote this amazing song.
I was amazed when I first heard this song. Until now I've only heard Beck sing songs like Loser and Where It's At, and I didn't know he'd be able to write something so beautiful

I know exactly what you mean. Sea Change is so great and it would be nice if he made another toned down melancholic album.
Sea Change was largely influenced by Beck breaking up with his long time girlfriend.

Yeh, that's right. Acoustic albums has some special feeling, specially with artists like Beck that born with an acoustic guitar under his arm.

What about Mutations? That's a great album and and the entire album is melancholic...if you haven't checked it, check it...
