The transcript did not state Stevens was innocent of withholding250,000 in gifts from Allen, it stated he didn't accept a plea deal and prosecutors didn't follow procedural rules thus the case was thrown out. He got off on a technicality. Note he was found guilty by a jury in Oct 2008 on 7 counts of not disclosing information. He did accept gifts from Allen (oil businessman) who had pleaded guilty
