My mom was on a ventilator from July 2007 until May 2009. I was rear ended in a car accident the same day she was taken from the nursing home to the er. I suffered a brain injury in my accident from being knocked out. She never wanted that but I was in charge. That was not living. My dad had cancer. Diagnosed in September 91 died April 92. pain meds did not work he wanted Kevorkian. My mom said after he passed he had a smile on his face. My mom had one on hers when i had to turn it off.
