Hmmm dude i would of spent more money for AEM or INJEN i spent well over 200 for a cold air intake whichruns pipe down by the wheel house and it sounds way sexier than the short ram and where the hell did you find a 50 intake? seriously....
That will only decrease your horsepower bud, it may sound better but that is all. The factory intake and box whould give you better horsepower and mgp just because the air being fed to the motor would be tons cooler. All your intake thingy is just gonna suck in hot ass air making less horsepower. Just saying if you wanna spend 50 dollars to go slower thats fine. Lol there plenty of you people arleady here though!
Please tell me my eyes decieve me when I read this. It does increase horsepower. It's not much its only around 5-8 hp gain but it is an increase, NOT AT ALL a decrease. The air might be hot but there is alot more of it than normal. The normal air box restricts airflow due to its complex design and inability to take in air from more than one path. The filter shown here allows air to flow from several directions and have a shorter path to the engine.
remember that you will have a better hp output if you get headers, and an aftermarket intake manifold. they eliminate a good amount of bottle necking so that you can get maximum air intake as well as exhaust output. just a CAI alone wont do you much except tell everyone that you are cheap.
@shadowcell01 He might be planing on getting a good with some air intakes in it. if so, he'll have the short air with the cold air still, that's what i did
@shadowcell01 my air intake is positioned just like yours, and the thing about intakes is that they suggest you put it down in the front by your bumper, just so that it does collect colder air...the thing with having itby the engine is that the air will not be quite as cold, but still colder then normal, so you will still gain a little bit of hp, but not as much as having it at the bottom..this is due to colder air being more dense, giving the engine more to work with, but still good this way!!
@mviaya They're almost one in the same. The only real difference is the name. Some cars ave different piping layouts and colors per injen vs k&n. Just depends what sticker you want on the side of your car. Or you go buy parts from Autozone and save $150
Yeah I started with a simple short ram but after awhile having I could feel problems so I upgraded to a fujita cai. Its not as bad as most cuz it doesnt go all the way down behind the wheel so no scare for gettin water in it.
thats no good. all the heat from the engine is gonna come to your air intake. so in a matter of minutes, you will have HOT air intake. i suggest you get an injen and make it go all the way under the fender.

The things impact on that thing vs factory is -2 to +2 hp. And it shows only more hp on rollingroad with bonnet open.

Thats no good. If you live in a mostly dry climate go ahead and get a cold air intake. You can find some super cheap on ebay.
