Hi, interesting set-up. I've got a question. I have an Edirol LVS-400, and I would like to be able to send a Skype video output to it, and also feed a video feed back into the same computer to send back over Skype. What can you recommend equipment wise to do this? I run all my audio through my pro studio set-up, as I already record podcasts (I work in broadcast radio), so just need a video solution. Thanks :)
Can u help me understanding what do I need a external card for? I mean, I have been capturing and editing for some time now, but I never gave in the time to understand why one gets an Aja Kona, or a blackmagic or whatever brand... Can you help me feel this gap of ingnorance?
How do you control your images with those backdrops or pictures from your camera or cam-corder?
I wanted to know how you can use this on photography? I'd really like to know how this can be done for themed photography if using a photography camera. Can you please reply or email me back?
It's a huge investment if I wanted to try to use it right away. Thanks!
@theWelshy2008 Thanks for asking. The Edirol V-440HD mixer switcher is $8495. There is a new version from Panasonic, the AW-HS50N with HDMI inputs that is in the $3800 range. It even has a keyer! I haven't tested it yet though to see how good of a job it does.
yes it is indeed magic :-) Ok thanks for the info ! .. I'll guess the light is coming from behind the curtain, ( ? ) in any event, that light must be super strong ! Thanks for your time, look forward to some new vidz with the setup, you guys are awesome !
In the search box above type 'Reflecmedia' or hit 'More From: dvestore' We have a cool video up that explains it a bit more in detail. You'll be surprised that light is about as bright as a flash light! It's kind of like those reflective vests you see construction workers wearing or cats eyes when you're driving at night.
I just saw a demo of this Reflect Media setup at Glazers Cameras in Seattle, Wa. Pretty neat! I think you should do more videos about the equipment you're using in this new studio. This is pretty interesting stuff! Marius
With the real time keyer we're able to "walk into the scene" and point out details whatever is on-screen. This could be an application or a web page for example. Just like the weatherman! There is a large monitor just off the screen so I can point in the right direction, with a real time keyer I see the composite - the finished product. Watch the Matrox video and you'll what I mean. Also, at the end of the show, we just upload - zero post production.

How come your curtain was gray, and then a few moments later it was green ? ... I'm confused.

It's like magic :)
Hit the more info button and under background you'll see Reflecmedia - it's a reflective gray cloth that you shoot a green light onto.

Why couldn't you just get an editing software and key it out in the program. Why must you key out live?

Very nice setup. I wouldn't mind some of that stuff for myself.
