awesome 3 videos. I just got my t2i yesterday, and after watching the 3 vids, I went back to take some photos today, and there is a huge difference since now that I know what the controls do, lol. thanks
I would be very interested in learning all of these types of things and how they affect the photo and capture the setting. As you've probably guessed I'm a bit of an amateur, and I have the canon 550D, so far I haven't strayed too far from Auto settings, but I am fascinated in learning about all the settings to get the best out of my camera and get the best photos :)
When i am filming, the camera with automaticly stop and say "video recording has been stopped automaticly" do u know why it does this or how to fix that?
i just recently got this camera as a gift since I like taking alot of pics of friends and family members....But I am clueless in how this camera works or what its capable of. Your video helped me out a lot. Especially what the numbers in the screen mean. Subscribed :)
@MediaUnlocked Like if your out with friends; and you need to take it fast, or if there's movement. For me sometimes the lense will take to long to auto focus, and then one take a picture. is there a good lense for times when your going out with friends? more geared to it i mean
Ermm Also when you described how Av mode works, completely incorrect... You have full control over aperture and the camera automatically adjusts shutter speed.
Thanks for this...great for beginners! Just got this camera from my husband for my bday and had no clue how to use it, lol. I knew i would be able to come across just the right video to teach a beginner how to use this camera, thx again, just what i was looking for!
@MediaUnlocked I didn't get what we are supposed to do with WB, i mean how to use it while taking pictures and if i take a picture of white blank paper in any light, would tht be gud? I've bought my canon this week so m totally new:D
@L0lal0la23 White Balance helps with getting your color of your picture a guine as possible. By taking a picture of the white piece of paper in the area I was shooting in it helped get better color composition.
ok so question if i have a 50mm lens and i want to move in video mode, but i dont want to keep playing with the focus in order to keep there face in focus, how can i bring everything in focus, cause i have been playing with my canon for a few days trying to figure out how to do this.... i was thinking like 1/40 f11, when i do that it seems nothing changes on the video side of things...
how do I open up one stop while keeping aperture constant from the previous exposure? Also how do I close one stop while keeping the aperture sonstant from the previous exposure? I'm so confused! Are there certain aperture settings that go with shutter speeds, or can I mix and match?
could you take photos with all of the different manual settings and go over the amount of iso , shutter speed and apeture with each different shot. or have you already done this in another video that i havent seen? if so id like to know :))
why dint u mention anything about the CA mode? i guess it stands for creative auto. im a beginner so iv just tried it a bit.. wud love to know more abt it!
Thanks, I never thought of using the AUTO setting as a meter. I am doing a photo shoot in a month for a friend and I now have a way to check out my settings.
I've been using my t2i in a studio on manual...setting the ISO to 100 or 200, aperture and shutter speed...during shoots I've found the setting seem to change without me doing anything. It became most noticeable when the shutter speed went to 1/320 and half the frame was black being out of sync with the strobe. I'm using the 'Q' button to change settings...My question is am I doing something wrong or is the camera broken?
@TheVATraveler If your shutter speed goes over 200 to 250 it will start to give you black lines it has to do with the speed of the flash not being as fast as the speed of the camera
TV is Shutter Speed Priority, you will have the control of your Shutter speed and the camera will adjust the ISO and the Aperture, for you. This is good if you want to take a picture that take Shutter speed as priority , like sport games, water fall, etc etc.
Lol, AV mode is Aperture Priority , you will have the control of your F/stop or Aperture and the camera will adjust the Shutter speed and the ISO for you to get a correct exposure. This is good if you want to focus on one particular subject of an image. eg, Portrait photography, etc etc.
Hi, can you help me please? I have Eos 550d and I can record a video maximum with 50 fps I don't have the option to record with 60 fps. Can you answer me why is that?
I believe u gave a wrong description of the Aperture Priority (Av) mode. When ur in the Av mode u have control over the aperture and the camera sets the shutter speed for u. What u said about the Av mode is actually the description of the Shutter Priority(Tv) mode.
Everyone I spoke to told me Class 10 cards are recommended for video shooting. Definately check the data transfer or writing speeds, some cards can write the video faster than others.
I have Panasonic SDHC Class 10 Memory Card With its speed data transfer rate of 20MB/sec and never ever had any problems with it, but they are a bit expensive than other cards.
Hi again! Ok I have a problem/question and I hope you can help! I have this camera (Canon T2i) and for some reason when I put it on the video setting and press the record button..it only records for around 12-15 seconds and automatically stops. I tried to look under all the different settings but cant seem to find out what the problem is. I also googled this and most ppl were talkinga bout the memory card. Im using a Sandisc w/lots of space so I dont know why this is happening :( Pls help!
@MediaUnlocked Oh I see..Okay I will have to go take a look when I get home tonight! I have a feeling it may be a 6 but not too sure. Would you recommend a certain specific memory card for shooting videos on the T2i camera?
