We owe money 'cause we aren't taxing the rich. Some corps like Bank of Amer & GE not only pay NO taxes but get billions back from the IRS every year. Big corps also get tax breaks 4 outsourcing jobs to 3rd world countries. We nd to provide safety nets to the unemployed&the poor. Otherwise, they have no chance of improving their situation so they can give back. A large percentage of elderly live in poverty now with soc security.To cut benefits will cause a disaster.
@PurrGrrl You don't cut Social Security for those who are on it. You start with 55 year olds who are NOT on it an have them wait until age 63, then 54 yr old waits until 64, then 53 waits until 65...until you get Social Security age to minimum 72 and the system will be saved. Doesn't hurt those on it!
Does it make any of you concerned that Bohner is going to try to push through with the debt ceiling raise a change to the Constitution of the United States of America? Do you guys want your Constitution changed? I wouldn't like it over a debate on what parts of the budget need cut. Shouldn't constitutional changes be given more thought than last minute crisis thinking? Sincerely wondering about the American view on this. A concerned Canadian neighbour.
