@ShaykhJoel --I am so glad I could bring a smile to your son! Let me know his name and I would be glad to send you a video with me saying his name. Thanks for stoppping by! Have a great happy day! xxoo Miss Lori
@JFrance1021 --so sorry we didnt mean to scare you... we meant to make you laugh:)maybe even a smile... Miss Lori and Sqedunk and our friend The great Big Spider want to bring happiness to every child wecan! Never to frighten or make sad! Please give your niece a sorry hug for us! Happy Day! xxoo Miss Lori
Well done, My children love to watch and listen to your song. We have to squish lots of mosquitoes and cockroaches, so we get to talk about beneficial 'insects" like spiders. Thanks again.
@Jimtw1963 --Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to let us know! We so know how important insectsare to our world! Pretending to squish the spider is just that...pretending.. using our imagination! Thanks for stopping by! xxoo Miss Lori
Love to hear your feedback! Thanks for your kind words! If I was verse in Greek I would be glad to teach you myself!
But she can learn the words from you and will know some English!! How cool is that...her first English would be the itsy bitsy spider taught to her by her Aunt! Love it!
i really enjoyed the video...it was really funny....i am goin to sing the song to my niece....unfortunatelly i doubt it if she can sing it back with me as she is 4 and she can only speak her native language...greek :( ....great job though miss lori
Thanks for this comment! It is nice to hear from someone who understands the imagination part of songs we sing with children! Its about fun and silliness!
The squishing the spider isn't that bad.. Kids don't take it that way.. It's all fun for them.. If a kid feels bad.. then next time you keep it out of it.. and we say it was all pretend.. Kids are pretty smart, you know
To acknowledge all the responses on sqishing the spider. I do appreciate your concern. NOTE: Nursery Rhymes, Finger Plays, Mother Goose Story's, all have silly words, & actions that most would never carry out in real life.
Pretending to squish the spider at the end, doesn't teach the children to kill spiders. It's a chance for them to pretend to do something they would never actually do in real life. It's about Imagination! I encourage parents to explain the difference.
I am so sorry she cried! Please explain to her that Miss Lori is not really squishing a real spider... it is only pretend! I would love to send her a DVD to make her smile again... Just need an address...
i just had a spliff, and my girlfirend and i couldnt remember the hand movements to this rhyme. jumped on you tube, and watched your video. loved it, was fun ha ha ha
Are you in preschool? Finger plays are meant for children 7 and under.... not teenagers or adults...especially ones who use your kind of language! Thanks for your opinion!
I appreciate your opinion.... as with most songs and finger plays they are meant to be silly and fun... there is no real spider involved...though children's brains are young and still forming... they still know they are pretending there is a spider in their hands!
My 2 yr old daughter LOVES this! In fact, she is screaming "one more time!" right now! I think you should make a DVD, I would buy one for sure! Thanks for putting this up.
Thank u! I want to play with my baby girl but I'm just clueless! I just keep saying the same thing again and again. finally I can try something new :)
Thanks for your comment!! I am working on uploading more finger plays...so tell your little sister to keep visiting Sqedunk.
I appreciate your review of my yellow socks! As much as I would like to change them...they are immortalized for eternity! This clip is part of a finger plays DVD..(Finger Plays with Miss Lori) It has been distributed across the world with those yellow socks!! Too bad you didn't catch me earlier!! haha
Made in 2002!! Since when do overalls go out of style? The DVD was made for children under the age of 8.... Children dont care what clothes you are wearing...their lives revolve around how much fun they can have!
you squished the spider!!!!!!!!!!!

The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Up came the sun and dried up all the rain
The itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

Great but don't kill the spider at the end. Very uncool. Spider have a job to do too. We are all god's creatures supposedly.

I don't think you needed to teach the kids to kill the spider at the end. Children need to learn that spiders are good and helpful.
