  • I thought the Clumber Spaniel is the biggest of the spaniels..

Gah whatever, such beautiful dogs Cx

  • reminds me of the portuguese water dog

  • The Irish Water Spaniel 2 me I think they r The Poodle's cuzzin

  • I love you andrea

  • I have a toy poodle :3 I'm just flicking through the 101 dogs videos

  • @mastifflove710 their tails are naturally hairless. These dogs do not shed but have hair, like poodles.

  • @maddiecakesters thats wat they say, but mine sheds! not a lot, but more than u would think

  • This dog is amazing. Mine was a docile, beautiful, friendly creature who loved to play and never grew up. He was trained but still a bundle full of energy, just like a puppy.

  • at first, i thought the Irish water spaniel should have been called the Irish fluffy spaniel until i saw it jump into the water

  • I just lost my IWS to lymphoma on Monday. She was extremely intelligent, more so than any other dog I owned. I would tell her the name of a toy 3x and she would remember it thereafter. I'd ask her to fetch "Pink the Dog" and she would search the house and find it. She also had an incredible nose. I would put her in a sit and then hide the treat somewhere in the house. When I released her from a sit, she would find the treat within 30 seconds. I'm heartbroken and no other will compare to her.

  • must be a rare breed

  • @mastifflove710 They shed about as much as any human would shed, which is why they need grooming. The tails are mostly naked, but if it starts growing hair on it, the groomer should just shave it down.

  • my moms friend has one that had puppies and were gonna get 1!!!! i think these dogs r adorable as puppies, and beuatiful as adults!!!

  • @teamedward087 Congrats but overpopulation still sucks.

  • @FattyDudley i agree, but theres not a lot of IWS. i know the friend, all of them are going to loving homes!

  • @teamedward087 Yes, I understand that your friend's dog's offsprings will have homes. But I would prefer it if people neuter their dogs instead of breeding them even though the puppies will have homes. Nevermind though. What's done is done. Enjoy your new puppy. I'm so jealous of you hahaha. Cause my dad doesn't let me have a dog anymore :(

  • @FattyDudley thanks! it took me soooooo long to convice my dad to let me get one! I cant wait!!!

  • i have a german sheppard- Cocoa

  • @dictionary223 Irrelevant? Hahaha

  • Why r all the dogs on dogs 101 at the beginning panting?

  • @Nintendogsfreak11

Often times panting like that is a type of "laughter' in dogs. Its why some dogs will actually pant even if not doing anything that would overheat them, but are with their people or enjoying themselves. It is sort of like a cat's purr.

  • i had one called "ralph" he was my best friend from the early 90's to the end of 2005. god i miss him id sell my soul to spend a life time with my favourite dog again. these are great dogs they are always happy and loveable. we called ralph "moose" alot because thats what they look like, mooses LOL now i can see what mans best friend means :)

  • happy st.pattys day!

  • ive got a pooddle- snosher.

  • when i had one as a puppy IT WAS SO CUTE! :D

  • rasta dog lol

  • I want one of these gorgeous dogs...it's both good and bad that they're so rare. <3 One of my fave breeds. And I LOVE big hair. ;)

  • @rafflesia they are beautiful dogs and there hair is silky soft and they are great to hug :)

  • @snapple6661 I met some at "Meet the Breeds" in New York City, and they were amazing!! So lovely and sweet! They jumped up and hugged me, and their hair felt awesome...

  • I "think" the narrator sez they're sometimes referred to as "The Rat Dog" becuz 0their TAILS look like "Rat Tails." NOT that the entire dog 'looks like a rat!' Anyone knows that that would be a complete misnomer. It's also mentioned that the 'rest' of the dog "looks like a poodle."

No matter what they're "like," they're an original "first" breed & just CUTER than anything!! I love their JOY! /^_^\\

  • i don't find they look like rats... they're probably not the most gorgeous dogs around, but they're not ugly!! i like its fur, especially that toupet, lol! and look at it's legs! they're like a big teddy bear's :D what i personally find ugly is the chihuahua and many (not all) tiny purse-sized dogs... they look pathetic :P just my opinion tho. i guess there's a dog for all types!

  • i'd love to see a video on the shiba

  • they look like rats

    who would want that!!??

thats probably why theres only few in U S

    xD

  • so basicly this is a poodle that swims instead of walks in puddles...

  • actually, the naked tail, would make the tail a less efficient rutter.. the fact that the water would just glide off the tail smoothly in the water, compared to a Lab who would have a thicker tail to make their turns quicker and more efficient compared to a IWS.. i could be wrong, but hey, that's how i see it.

  • it looks just like snookie

  • @xxTheChosen1xx haha :P i bet you anything someone in the world has one of these called snookie

  • awesome dog. looks similar to macy gray...

  • haha looks like a dog sheep :)

  • :-)
