This film was ridiculous... I felt like Night shot this film with only one take for each scene he shot. I loved Mark in Departed...but this wasn't his fault..It's Night's. This movie failed terribly..No build up, no tension what so ever, no surprise, I really hope Night bounces back with Airbender.... I always defended him but man, after this cringe worthy film.... I can't say i can anymore.

I like Mark Wahlberg. I LOVE M Night. He WAS one of my favorite directors up there with steven speilberg and ron howard. NOT NOW. THE HAPPENING IS THE WORST MOVIE ON THIS PLANET. The actin ruined it. Mrk Wahlber sucked a**. The girl sucked. The effects SUCKED. Even the extras in the movie w/ very small speaking roles SUCKED AT ACTING. I think M Night just did friends some favors by casting them in the movie and it sucked. I laughed while I watched it.

What happened to Mark Walhberg. I think he is a great actor, don't get me wrong, one of my favorite actors. But, this was a horrible acting job. I was SOOOO stoked to see this movie but, to be honest, it was one of the worse movies I have ever seen. I am glad he came back in Max Payne though, good work Mark. You BADASS!!!

move over "plan 9 from outer space" cause this is the worst movie ever made. wow. what an unbelievable fuck up M. Night Shyamalan is. how do you go from "sixth sense" to "the happening?" i honestly thought this guy, after sixth sense, might be some sort of contemporary Hitchcock, but he's more like a cross between Ed Wood and Douglas Sirk!  and i thought orson welles was a loser...well, at least he had talent. M. Night Shyamalan's takes the cake...biggest wanker in film history.

Anyone that has been a movie lover understands the difference between quality from poor quality. His performance was garbage and simply non believable by most standards as well as the movie. Being a critic and an interviewer is actually a conflict of interest. So your either a kiss ass, a hack, or both.

I totally agree with the comment below me. This film was unbearable. People keep trying to defend it, saying that its supposed to be funny. No. This was meant to be a thriller, and just fell apart. The "antagonist" is not even scary, and whats "happening" is more or less funny, only because its so lame.
