  • granddaddy kush+gratefuldead=:)

  • By far, one of the most underrated bands for their vocal talents. I keep in mind that they are NOT vocalists, by any sense of the definition of that term, BUT some of the finest MUSICAL minds of their era and capable of a vocal MIRACLE like this!

  • If this song ever fails to make me weep I don't think life will be worth living anymore. The Dead at their most beatiful...

  • wish i could be 15 30 years ago so i could be a dead head...

  • I'd rather smoking a joint, sitting under the stars, listening to this than being anywhere near a computer.

  • American Beauty is a Classic Album!

  • THE HIPPIE MOVEMENT OF 2015 IS UPON US SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN!!

  • @xTPTxOCELOT youre gay

  • @xTPTxOCELOT seriously gay

  • @xTPTxOCELOT ocelot, ocelot where did you go?

  • everyone should listen to this song at least once. everyone would be a better person for at least five minutes and fourteen seconds.

  • Glad to hear this again. This album and Workingman's Dead are my two most favorite Dead albums.

  • When I forget the beauty of simple existence in this amazing world, I listen to this song. Your job, responsibilities and other stresses just melt away. There is beauty in life, and this song proves it.

  • That's what i call a fuckin' tune!

  • For the past week and a half i have been stressed out and depressed with college life. then i remembered that my dad would always listen to the grateful dead when he was stressed and depressed and now i understand why. only pure bliss while listening to their music. Amazing and beautiful.

  • @RiZiNDeMoN99 Welcome aboard The Bus, Young One. I am at least your dad's age, and I saw about 100 shows. That was long before cell phones sucked almost every bit of fun and spontaneity out of life, but there are still some adventures left. I hope music like this inspires you to seek them out.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest yes cell phones do, do that my favourite thing to do is pack a bowl and walk through the forests, i envy people who were around to see the dead

  • @SLIMSHADY1357 Use the youtube search bar and check out "Grateful Dead New Years Eve 1985". (Yes, I was there) The telecast really captured the crowd nicely, and gives a decent sense of what it was like to BE THERE. Of course, "Midnight Hour'' was never one of their best covers, even with Pig-Pen, but that's not why I recommend this vid; it really does capture the scene. (And Kesey and Father Sarducci!) To recreate the smell, you will need pot, patchouli oil, and Marlboro Reds. Really.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest ahahaha thanks man! that was awesome! :P

  • @SLIMSHADY1357 You're welcome. And weren't some of those hippy chicks little cutie pies? Sigh. We are all just a bunch of old farts now.

  • @MrDoubtfulguest ahaha theres still hot hippie chicks out there you just gotta go find them!

  • @SLIMSHADY1357 Yea! I married one and she's hotter than lava! :)

  • @tdhayes1 AHAHA if i could find a lady that liked the dead i would be soooo happy!

  • @SLIMSHADY1357 I was luck enough to see them once at Buckeye Lake, Ohio in 1994 250,000 sold out amazing music multitudes of people, Wish u could have experienced it too.

  • @cindy91365 i was born too effing early -.-

  • This song is sooooo far to the RIGHT!!!! Jerry was a Heroin addicted Right Winger lol

  • Yet another underrated classic from the dead who specialise in under appreciated gems!Sublime!

  • Amazing tune!!!

  • If this is not the best song you have ever heard you have not experienced life yet.

  • notice that there are NO dislikes...

  • sweet harmony...

  • @bughead3 blows me away every time. so beautiful, so perfect.

  • @TheUrbanColorFilms

You are authentic becaue you get it. That's all that's required.

  • You are authentic, because you get it. The length of your fan-ness has nothing to do with it. I'm old enough to be your father and I still feel like a newcomer.

  • one of the best dead albums ever :)

  • THE HIPPIE MOVEMENT OF 2015 IS UPON US SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN

  • I like listen to grateful dead too since 1994. so it has been half that. the first grateful dead song i love is touch of grey.

  • this is what it is like to answer a question in Spanish class while being prescribed to lithium.

  • I am a 20 year old Black Mexican From Texas that grew up on Screw and Hardcore rap and i am a Deadhead

    Everything is Officially Possible!

  • Finally, a video of a song that everyone that has watched has LIKED.

  • nothing better..

  • The RIGHT person will never get this music.

  • reminds me of my first year in college, living with 7 or 8 of my deadhead family here, sitting in silence, tripping our asses off...half of the room had tears in their eyes for a few friends that passed on that month

  • Isn't the first day of finding a band that you feel you have known your whole life the greatest?

  • The playing and especially the harmonies really get me on this song. As lovely as any Beach Boy harmony or any band of the 60's to now. Beautiful and yes heavenly!!

  • This song ended each set for years, R.I.P Jerry Garcia

  • I don't really consider myself a deadhead, but I really like some of their music. I got the American Beauty album because of Ripple, and I heard this song and fell in love with it. Man, they got some harmony!! I used to play this on the piano. I guess I'll have to see if I can still play it.

  • I just have to say... Mr. Rosso is the BEST guidance counselor ever.

  • ABSOLUTELY perfect perfect perfect perfect! Hmmmmm

  • big tune!

  • @ItzizAustin THIS. A million times this. <3

  • Dude, What the...Just so a know I was at my fist show in 75 but you gave me a laugh this morning......Thanks'

  • @TokingReefer Why? and where's mine? liquid?

  • @ripplemeinwater1 fish with apple and some dog cheese on the side please

  • Days of bliss and freedom now asleep in history....peace.

  • @thudar9 Not true, fortunately. The dead was just the beggining. Society does look pretty grim, but that doesn't mean we can't find bliss.

    Be the change :)

  • great memories to this stuff. good old friends and good old times.

  • it's been 30 yrs since i was a dead head, but a i listen, i remember why...

  • @marshvernet Once a dead head always a dead head!

  • @marshvernet you stopped being a deadhead? wtf?

  • @marshvernet arent we forever dead heads???

  • this song is the shit.

  • Great harmonizing! Beatle & Beach Boyesque.

  • Thank you so fucking much, I've been looking for this song for so long :)

  • For my gentle giant. You were the best friend a girl could ever ask for. The only thing that helps this unbearable sadness is knowing how unbelievably lucky I was to have known you. Thank you for giving me the privelege of calling you "friend" for the past 20 years. I love you. Rest now, be at peace.

    Timothy Costello 1/7/1969 - 7/6/2010.

  • wow that was touching what you said, and i dont even know you, us deadheads have special connections to each other though

  • @shill0516 so many of my brothers and sisters passed away also, great memories, we will see each other again
