  • This is the original. Russell Crowe covered this :)

  • @russellcrowe cover?

  • Really enjoyed watching Paul Hyde solo up in Kelowna back in July 2001 as he "OPENED " for the Everly Brothers . Great songwriter and performance that night. Congrats , Paul!!

  • beautiful song treated simply :)

  • this works on so many levels. the simple, almost sparse arrangement enhance the mood and message. i like most the hook line. each of us have felt that way at least once. reminds me a bit of harry chapin. continue the craft, chuck. five and favorites.

  • The new Paul Hyde cd is called Peace Sign and came out Oct 20 on Bongo Beat.

  • The business puts you in and out of the spotlight but can't take the magic from the artist.

  • One of the best singer, songwriters around. I hope they come to the U.S. on there tour...

  • Yet another brilliant song from Paul Hyde.

  • A fine song... Paul's still got it.

  • By the way, THE BIG BOOK OF SAD SONGS is available on iTunes and also at the merch table on the current Payolas tour. Ralph/Bongo Beat

  • Check out thepayolas new(ish) web site. The boys are back.

  • harrogate rocks

  • yeah I agree. Alot of old songs still get alot of airplay but not the Payolas. Hell of good song though

  • best song is your the only one

  • Good to hear him after all these years (uh, 20 for me.) His lyrics were always thought-provoking.

  • Still writing and singing great songs. He is probably the most under-appreciated singer/songwriter in Canada. :(

  • Does Hyde still live in Canada?

    Thanks.

  • Paul lives in Vancouver. Note: The Payolas have a new album coming shortly on EMI Canada. Paul's second acoustic album is halfway done and coming soon.
