My dad was a T/Sgt in the 8th Army Air Corp too. He was assigned to the C47. He told me some accounts of his time overseas that were very sad. I'm glad he made it back of course, but many of his friends never did. I still have some photos he took while over Burma.
I went to a nice wedding Osnabruck in 1981.

My Uncle served in the 701stBS 445thBG(H),2nd AD, 8th AF and was a Bombardier.Shot down 24 Feb 44 and held POW at Stalag Luft 1 in Barth.
I salute you and all veterans of WWII.
