I have a problem .. I followed instructions to get my computer running 10.5.6 to work with the other computer running 10.3.9 ..The computer running 10.3.9 has the printer. I got the computers to see each other, once. And I was able to print. Now,I can't.
I have something similar: iMac Leopard 10.5.6 - Got a canon pixma iP4500 on the mac. Have pc running xp sp3. Router is a DIR-655. Wireless is OFF (CAT 5e) installed bonjour. will find printer, but won't print.
any ideas on how to get both pc's to print to this printer?
Sorry it took so long to respond; my guess is that you don't have the correct drivers on your Windows machine. Have you tried searching Google or the manufacturers site?
yeah, I've tried looking... you vid seemed to be the most complete. I got the mac to see the external hd on the pc. So that's good. it also sees the printer and sends a document, but the printer pauses.
I'll check to see if it's a driver issue. otherwise, I know I'm close. Thanks.
I'm trying to get a printer connected on a pc (on the wifi network) to be detected and able to print to from the mac. Tried everything- work groups, manually doing the ip, etc, nothing works.
Try opening System Preferences, going to Network, click "Advanced", and then WINS.
Add a WINS server for your router's IP (usually 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.1.1). This solved my problems.
However, make sure you have the most recent updates; I had this problem, and it was fixed in a later release of Leopard (Apple icon > Software Update).
does this work for wireless printing from an iPhone and iPad?

Ahh yes, if only it worked this way. That would be great. But instead, it doesn't work at all =(
