First off, there is no "correct" way to write a story so an invincible hero CAN work. i.e. sure, YOU'RE invincible but the people you care about aren't. Second, neither Aquaman nor Superman are invincible, they're just really powerful. There are things and beings that can smack them around, you simply choose to be ignorant of the fact.

its about freakin time someone other than myself, came forth to say that Aquaman is awesome. everything in these two vids are true, except for the part about him beating superman, that was the martian manhunter, but it still is impressive considering that MM has Kryptonian like powers as well as Telepathic. Oh and for those of you who may not know ,Aquaman beat Namor in Dc vs Marvel which was voted on by us the FANS!!!!! He rocks plan and simple.

Just so you know. Sub-Mariner was first published in 1939, Aquaman was published in 1941. Honestly, Aquaman is kind of plagiarized in that they both have similar origins. Both having been conceived by humans having an romantic encounters with Atlanteans. Just saying. I feel that Aquaman's success won't happen until they can make him really interesting. The character development has been terrible. Read the 1986 mini series of Aquaman, it wasn't great. But hey, hook hand and tritons, be gone.

@MrRazorChild You're correct in that Namor was published aprroximately 2 years prior to Aquaman's debut in More Fun Comic #72, But Aquaman's Golden Age origin was completely different than Namor's. In the Golden Age, Aquaman's powers derived from science discovered in the ruins of Atlantis by his father, a marine archeologist. Aqauman's Atlantean/human hybred origin was established in Silver Age. I could go futher, but Youtube has the 500 character limit. Bell well.

Many times have I defended aquaman from my friends. I brought up him beating wonder woman in the justice league animated show, but my friend said it didn't count because he won by dragging her into the ocean. How does using his powers and environment to his advantage not count? I've seen superman grab his opponents and flying high up into the sky to make them blackout, it's pretty much the same thing.

@cubed1OCBZ I agree with you, Wonder Woman is way tougher underwater than Batman or Luthor are without weapons. Batman uses environment to advantage stalks criminals in a dark costume at night okay the yellow emblem and belt make no sense though, movie version did away with those. Spiderman uses environments swings from building and climbs on walls. Hawkman flys so fights from the air, so what's wrong with fighting in your own environment? Nothing if needs to be done.

I've also always thought Aquaman was pretty underrated. I've defended him countless times. People never listen though. They have all of these preconceived ideas of the character and are content with being closed minded. I know a lot of people that hate Superman too. I like Superheroes that can be over the top and silly sometimes. When things are serious all the time it gets kind of depressing. Don't we read comics as escapism?

Women a bit more likely to have blonde hair there is Supergirl, Powergirl, 2 different Batgirls, Saturn Girl, invisible Girl, Ms. Marvel, Gwen Stacy, Chloe,Lucy Lane changed to brown, redish blonde Crystal, Alicia, & Sif changed to black, Enchantress and Lesli Lar.

Neat video man... Aquaman has always been my personal favorite super heroe (along with Swamp Thing, another underated DC heroe). I noticed you included a picture of the 90's bearded Aquaman in the "failed versions" of Aquaman. I think you should re check out that series. The bearded Aquaman was super bad-ass! He beats superboy, wonder-woman, Lobo, and many others throughout that series. Not to mention killing 6 of Darkseid's super powered minions in one issue :D

Anyways, I like how he can be put on either side and still have the story making sense. Geoff Johns is writing a new Aquaman ongoing.

In one issue, he took down Flash, Green Lanter, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Aquaman all at once. In Frank Miller's Dark Knight, he kicked Superman's ass. A serious ass-whooping. The worst mistake most heroes make is underestimating Batman. He uses that to his advantage.

aquaman does get weak on land that was one of his original weaknesses. if he's out of water too long he gets dehydrated and he can die -. - he controls 2/3 of the ocean but really are you gunna save more people on land or in the ocean he could of been way better if could manipulate the water and not just throw little wimpy water balls..

@fishandchips8956 First: Yes, he gets weak on land, but any serious affects come much later than you think. In Brightest Day, he REFUSED to come near the water. And he was away from water for about two days, when that happened and he seemed okay.

Second: That thing about it being one of his original weaknesses is half truth, writers gave him that weakness later, cuz people felt he was too powerfull.

Starbreaker once defeated Superman, Green Lantern, and the Flash all at once. and he gets KO'ed in one hit by Aquaman. its all up to the writer how they want to interpret a superhero's powers. the Wonder Twins have beaten Superman.
