@crw2424 barry sanders?slow?shit....he wasnt slow...especailly if the cpu controlled him...once he got past the line of scrimmage, you aint catchin him
The Niners were just unstoppable in this game (specially in the playoffs). -Montana's weapons were infinite in Rice, Taylor, Jones, Craig, Rathman. -And even if Montana went down you had Steve Young to run the show!
-What was even more awesome is that it was EXACTLY like this in REAL LIFE for the 49ers back then... oh the good ole' days.
he was not part of the NFL Players Association at that time the game came out (because of a contract holdout i believe), so they could not use his name
Deion not on there? I must have missed him but if not he deserves to be. Drew Hill was sick on that game, also Stephen Baker on the Giants if anyone ever used them, him and Mark INGRAM would catch every bomb you threw and were fast as hell, sick!
Singletary......averaged about 100 sacks a season with just him. Seriously, LOL on real football, but this would be great for fantasy football today....could you imagine the stats?
Okoye was in there, but he was after Neal Anderson lol... I always thought Okoye was the 2nd best after Bo in that game... He would truck over people to!!!
I hated stopping Anderson more. But a lot of credit goes to Muster and the O line bumpin you. Okoye was awesome to play with, but I always felt he fumbled more than his ball control would suggest and it felt like he always got injured.
Yeah Atwater, Deion and Lott should have been 1,2 and 3 in whatever order you wanted to put them.... They were unstoppable... This list is good, but def flawed
Who cares about INT's for a safety... Atwater put the fear of god in people when he played.. He would lay dudes out!!!!... I would much rather receivers and running backs be intimidated... I mean Deion could have probably doubled his number of INTS, but people were scared to throw his way... Don't get too caught up in numbers as this ESPN generation seems to do
He was great at what he did, and that was lay you the hell out and put fear into you like someone said earlier, he was a pro bowl safety. Intercepting is not all things, you could get 2 a year and still be great on coverage and tackling etc., int's are not everything.
Needs The Fridge as a NT. I've had 50+ sacks with him everytime as the Bears. Is the guy from GB really good? How? I'm tempted to go play a season with GB now. Should of done Top 5 FB's.
Awesome, awesome videos. I agree 100% with every player you chose! I've never seen many of these pictures, it is very nice to be able to put their picture to their game character. Thank you very much! Love live TSB!
Bob Nelson, he was the man, easily was the most dominating defensive player in that game. My only beef is with the DB's, my top 4 would be Deion, Woodson, Lott, and Fulcher. But I know Haddix (and Gill Byrd) always got lots of picks.
You could spend days pissing your opponents off with Bo Jackson, going back and forth. He was invincible, like he was in REAL LIFE! ... that is until he got injured :(
I won many a super bowl using cunningham. Drop back 20 yards, toss a bomb to barnett, or just run for it. he was always the league leader in passing and rushing in my many seasons playing that game.
No you didn't idiot. Unless you were keeping stats manually (in which case you would be the biggest D bag of all time) the game only records sacks up to 61 per year. Nice try though homo
These comments are hilarious and depressing at the same time. We have people citing Quickness ratings (which do nothing) and complaining about SOME d-linemen and linebackers are fast (when every defensive player is faster than every offensive player). And that's just on the first 2 pages.

You could make DE and NT separate, but in either case, Jerry Ball was superior to Bob Nelson.
It's sad what happened to Dennis Byrd, but NO WAY does he or Millard belong in there above Pat Swilling. BTW, they are at LB because TSB only allowed for a 3-4, so one down lineman of a 4-3 team would be shifted back) I recall Charles Haley also being a monster (that mighta been the SNES version though...)

Bobby Humphrey is a LOT better that Okoye.
Novacek is better than Jackson, and Eric Green should be 4th.
Greg Townsend and Richard Dent should be 4th and 5th in the defensive linemen.
Millard and Byrd should be the other way round.
Fulcher is the best Secondary, then Woodson, Haddix, Ronnie Lott and Richard Johnson.

sergeithebruiser 4 years ago
3 part post. All and all a pretty solid list.
Can't argue with the QBs (might've put Elway in in place of Moon as a pure QB, but Moon's supporting cast makes all the difference)
RBs on the money.
I agree that Sharpe should be in place of Drew Hill
(always thought Givens was the top guy in the Oilers squad). Anthony Miller and Andre Reed def. honorable mentions.
