  • I could listen to this band all day.

    I'm in heaven still :)

  • I really like this song, i think it's nice, but why are we dissing people countries???? i don't get it! It's just a song!! Geez! It's not even about that!

  • Been jamming their music state side.

  • FANTASTIC SONG I LOVE IT

  • West Aussie Represent..... Can 100% relate to this song at the moment....London can be a very lonely place sometimes...

  • london is a dirty shithole, it would have to be one of the worst citys ive been to and i was told this by all my pommy mates before i left aus. liverpool, newcastle and manchester are heaps better

  • @ExtremelyChillDyl This had to be the most pointless opinion I have ever read.

  • Brilliant song!

  • Spent a year living in London and now am back in Aus (and miss London all the time) and this is such a great song.

  • im always away in nyc n london this song brings me home haha Aussie Aussie Aussie

  • Wow!

The emotions that this song conjures up. So strong. So nostalgic.

    So ... London.

  • thanks for posting! I've been a fan of the waifs since '01 or '02ish! The Waifs are the SHIT! they're soooooooooooo groovy!

  • I'm in London still....

  • Not enought money in the world to make me stay in London right now!!!

  • i feel that australians always have that feeling... I am in Germany still.

  • Wonderful expression of homesickness - doesn't matter where you are in the world, no matter how hard you wished to be where you are - thinking of home always feels like this...

  • she was only in london one day and wrote this song

  • @1elphinstoner I know

  • I'm in Dubbo still

  • @smello79 You have Dubbo RSL, what else do you need?

  • don't live in london. never ever will. but if i did this would be my song. i cant imagine leaving the shores of this funny little country. a brissy boy, born and bred.

  • I never get tired of this song, love it.

  • "11 dislikes"

How can you dislike this video? It's lovely

  • So what's still about London?? (a bit like a fictional character once asked "what's so lonely about the khaosan road?")

  • 11 people who wish they had her voice. what an amazing song. <3

  • so reminds me of living in Australia. man i miss it.

  • 11 people never visited London.

  • My love's plane landed there at 3pm this afternoon. Miss him like crazy already.

  • so true! So real! Awesome...and timeless

  • I saw them live supporting Bob Dylan, they were so much better than Bob it was amazing. Brilliant!!!

  • For the rest of your life, your time in London will be a huge landmark. Something that you will always refer back to, whether you had a good time or bad.

    This song reflects that perfectly.

    London rocks!

  • @DanielJamesLewis well said

  • "I miss you like my left arm that's been lost in the war

today I dream of home and not of London anymore.."

you could substitute "London" for any other city or town, and still capture that intense sense of longing for home - this line always brings tears to my eyes!

  • She was only in london for 4 days!

  • shes in london still

  • I'd just moved back from London and my heart was still there when this song came out.

  • Hearing Donna sing this live is such a treat!

  • got to see the waifs at wood ford folk fester bull last year

  • try little heroes - one perfect day...

  • try little heroes - one perfect day

  • i'm dreaming of your HERB, otherwise known as weed kids.

  • This song reminds me that we're all hurtling towards death.

Better wake up. It's later than you think.

  • OK Waifs fans, clear this one up for me... the lyric "I'm dreaming of your voice and I'm dreaming of your herb/hurt/???" Help me out, thanks.

  • @AndrewCopland Acoording to the lyrics, its herb, but that doesnt make sense does it? What do you think?

  • @AndrewCopland not that i'm a hardcore fan..just like this song..but i think she did say herb! haha..how bizarre.

  • @AndrewCopland If you look at her mouth when she says it, the shape implies "herb". At least, that's how I see it.

  • @AndrewCopland if ya ever smoked shitty english herb u would understand! :P

  • it is the best ever. and just so incredibly sad. My lovely one is about to go to London for a year which makes it even more sad and meaningful :(

  • this is really good music. this is the first song i have ever heard from them.... i am a fan now thumbs up

  • I saw these guys a few times at Steves in Nedlands when they first came up from Albany. Mid-90's - was it that long ago?

  • ive got an english assessment on this song for my hsc, does anyone have any ideas about how it relates to belonging?

    its a great song.

    cheers

  • I have to play this song for a music assignment, but I only know how to play it in C, capo 4. Does anyone have or know a chordsheet for it in a different key? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • One who is tired of london is tired of life.

  • me toooits quiet wierd cause wen i was there i in away wanted to go back but now i def want to go back.....

  • My patner and I listen to the song soooooooooo much ! YAAAAAAY AUSTRALIA!!!!!!

  • Great song, great band. Josh sure plays a sweet acoustic line in this one.

  • oh how I can relate to this

  • am in London now... going home in 5 days, not sure if I'm coming back (due to various circumstances).

Was introduced to this tune about a week ago, now can't seem to stop listening to it!

  • I think everyone leaves someone or something in London and always think of what could have been......

  • @riderpro75 you are so fucking right. so right.

  • First heard this tune in Darwin NT, Love it

  • this song hits the nail so hard on the head its not funny

  • ease up, she is a fantastic singer, great melody

  • great song. boring, too literal of a video

  • the song was written on tour when they stopped through london for 2 days, she says its the only time shes had been to london before writting.. its a great song

  • I believe it was actually written after their return to Australia and is more about the head being in "London still" rather then the body.

Take from it whatever you get.

  • Your over analysing.. Think you need to listen again darlin... It was written at the end of a long tour, last stop london, and she hated it and just wanted to get home...

  • @Drewski0411 Not what she said.

  • @mryellow123 well articulated!

  • @Drewski0411 ugh.... It wasn't a pun.... It was me stating that is not what she said.

  • She wants to go home, but doesnt want to leave london.

    feeling like that right now.

  • wtf u on, shes saying she wants to go home!! " Today i dream of Home and NOT of london anymore, im in london STILLL "

  • Pretty fuckin' good.

  • LOL, this is such a true song. I'm a Londoner and none of my Aussie mates want to go back to Australia at all!

  • umm dude i think shes saying she does wana go bak 2 aus..

  • Main song

  • This song was written by Josh, not Deb or Vic. The Waifs are fantastic and cant wait too see them live again soon.

  • Great song, shame about the poor video.

  • spickkkks and specs :)

  • Saw her on TV show the other night. Apparently she has only ever spent two days in London on a stopover LOL!!!!

  • hehe. i saw the waifs in kentish town a few years ago. maybe it was then!!

  • What does it matter....she has picked up on a quintessential Aussie backpacker trait of being in London longer than perhaps they wanted to be!!!

  • i think the blonde one is really hot

  • cool as?

    lmao loser

  • the girl went to my cousin's primary school,

    back in aussie.

    (:

  • This is a great song, but its very naughty that they are not wearing their seatbelts in Cab

  • great song

  • I saw this live at WOMADelaide a couple of years back, and Donna forgot some of the lyrics. She then sang "I'm embarrassed still...a little embarrassed still" in the next chorus, then told the crowd how the band had asked her if she wanted to practice it, and she said "nah, I don't need to practice it. It's my big single".

  • Absolutely beautiful song :)

  • I had never heard of this band but it sounds great... normaly i do not listen to music sung by women ( sorry but just do not like the woman voice :P ) but this band makes their music like uhhmmm feel good music :)

  • Thats funny 'cause ima guy and i prefer to listen to women singers. All of my favouite singers are all women. Women playing sport is another question all together though!!

  • Brilliant, nothing less...

  • miss u like my left arm that's been lost since the war ...LOL...sense of humour in a simple homesick tune...and a beautiful melody. 2 thumbs up!

wasnt in a cd compiled by uncut?

  • I almost miss that shit hole (London) after hearing this - it must be a good song.

  • I love this song- as an Aussie currently living in London, it really rings true to me and inspires such feelings of home sickness and love toward Australia. It's got such a great melancholy feel to it. I'd like to think that many other Aussie ex-pats in London would agree. The Waifs have nailed it.

  • "this is an affront to common decency"? - Boofhead, have you never been sad and homesick and pretty keen on reaching out and communicating that feeling in a plain, straightforward, unaffected way? And a tune you can whistle after a first hearing is rubbish is it? Or words that ring true without apparent artifice must be disparaged as too simple as well, a? What a highbrow little intellectual poser you seem to be , , ,

Get a life, and please don't rain on someone else's parade again.

  • I second your comments Ianni. This quasi-intellectual is probably some pathetic 37 year old undergraduate living in a squat in Newtown. I bet he's/she's never been further than Katoomba let alone London. There's something profoundly 'home like' about London, yet it can inspire great feelings of home sickness. The Waifs have tapped in to this mood very well in this song!

  • Yes very beautiful song..

  • This is such a sad and moving song...;-;

  • Come to Geelong please. Geelong is a hole. But COME BACK TO GEELONG PLEASE.

  • where is that? message to snooziesuzie44 from snoozeyoulose19! lots of snoozing!

  • Geelong is in Australia. The Waifs use to come to Geelong all the time. But haven't for a long time. It's a rip off. Geelong is in Victoria, Australia.

  • i love they she kept her accent and didnt change it to fit in to mainstream uk and us music :)

  • Whelans, Dublin, 15th May 2008 - these guy are even better live than the studio albums! They were fantastic.
