  • Cute dog.

  • what type of wheels do you recomend for speed skating?

  • I find that a good wipe down with a baby wipe or make up remover wipe gets the vast majority of rink junk off of my wheels, if that helps y'all any

  • This works really good... Holds up a picture of Mr. Clean..

  • thanks so much my wheels were getting pretty dirty thsnks

  • Nice vid. Thanks! I love my nasty old roller skating rink, BUT I hate the crud that is severely embedded into the carpet. One trip to the snack bar and it is cruddy wheel city... :-/

  • where i skatee people are really disrepectfull and leavee things likee gum and papers on the floor sometimes and they get stuck in my wheel. there some build up of it on my wheels what method would u recommend for removingg it?

  • @snakebytes19 Sit them in some hot water for a little bit, not boiling water but warm water. Don't leave them in there for too long though. If they have aluminum hubs make sure that you dry them off. Make sure the bearings are out also. Then just take a scrub pad to them. That should work. If they are stained use a magic eraser.

  • Hey, can you please tell me how i can take off my bearings? thanks.

  • @Winter3ase I have a video on how to remove your bearings from your wheels. If you mean taking the rubber seals off then you can use a safety pin or a exacto knife and stick it between the rubber and inner ring and run it around.

  • hey I just wanted to ask I noticed the other day when I went skating that my wheels were peeling. My skates are Reidell Dash with Cayman swirl speed groove wheels and it looks like the grooved in lines are peeling but just on the top left inside wheel of the left skate. Is this normal? Do you know of anyway to fix it? thanks

  • @metallover54 Sounds like the grooves are just wearing down. Nothing to worry about you may want to rotate them though.

  • nice setup....love the wheels. Have you ever thought of taking your plates off and turning your kingpins the other way round...looks a bit nicer and they should still tighten up to the full without touching your trainer.

  • @loveofmusicltd These were actually my sister's skates not mine. I am confused about what you are saying here.... o.O

  • @JamSkateAddiction The four big bolts that hold the trucks on can be reversed, It just means when you tighten your trucks down you dont get the protruding thread of the bolt and they stay tighter longer. I used to do it to skate vert and grind. I then noticed how little I needed to re tighten them. Just a little tid bit I suppose....

    .Peace

  • @loveofmusicltd Ok I get what you are saying now. I was all confused ha ha! I don't skate these plates I skate a Proline, a Reasctor, and Ultimate III. I forgot how the kingpins are on this one and I didn't watch my video to remember lol.

  • @JamSkateAddiction no problem...i Knew you would get it. Wish I could afford the Proline but the UK only knows how to rip people off so I wont be buying from here. Take it easy... Keep making vids. peace

  • I find a quick way to clean my wheels is to put a little bit of water on a cement floor (A nice smooth cement, not like a driveway or the road, but like an unfinished basement.) then slowly skate back and forth. The real trick is putting the right amount of water though. You have to remember not to much or it'll go all over your skates. Done right only your wheels will get wet. Then you just take a towl or rage and dry them off.

  • @flameshogun Sounds risky lol. :O :)

  • @JamSkateAddiction Sounds it but it really isn't. I've never gotten my bearings wet cleaning my wheels like that. and I just noticed my typo rag* not rage. xD

  • @flameshogun That's cool.

  • @moccommanderlego Yes I know this. I said it in the video.

  • get some skates for your dog :)

  • Comment removed

  • Careful. Too much contact with the magic eraser will erase your entire hand. Also your skate and everything else it touches

  • @blakcheycoke Lol :D right. I have already erased my sister with it ha ha. Just kidding she is still here. LOL.

  • thanks for the help.it wored real good

  • did not work for me on my skateboard :(

  • @AlixTaei Hmm I am sorry yours must be pretty dang dirty. Lol. :D

  • @JamSkateAddiction hehe thats right

  • @AlixTaei You should try popping your bearings out and soaking them in some hot water for a little while. Not extremely hot water but steamy water. That should help the stuff come off a little easier sometimes I have to do that when I go to a few rinks and everything gets stuck to my wheels lol.

  • Same way I clean my wheels......nice

  • Hey! This is fantastic! Thanks! I'm a derby player, and this is the first tutorial I've been able to get hold of on skate cleaning! Thanks so much! :D

  • Derby is awesome! :D Virtual high five lol. Soon I will have some more videos on skate cleaning and maintenance I am waiting on better audio equipment before I record anymore.

  • the folks at connie's skates offer sevices to make a custom skate out of personal shoes. but from what i understand they don't guarantee that all shoes will work. i'd think mounting an aluminum plate onto a pair of Lugz would risk damaging the sole of the shoe. plus if the sole's too soft i'd be afraid it mite split apart.

  • Yea I don't know exactly how they do it but mine and my sisters have been working fine for three or four years now. No problems with the rubber or the shoe messing up. We used bolts and really long spacers with a metal plate inside the shoe. I had a video of this on my old channel I have been meaning to redo it. It is not too hard.

  • I'm a ref for a Derby team. I've found baby wipes work pretty good. You vidoes are very nicely put together. I'm a strong skater but not the best jam skater, lol. Hope to be able to grapevine by the end of the year!

  • OMG IS THAT YOUR SHOE AS A BOOT?

  • Lol well those are my sisters actually and yes it is a etnies shoe. I have some DC skates. I am thinking about redoing a video on how to make these. : )

  • Thnks..... :)

  • No problem. : )

  • I use the magic eraser when I want to thoroughly clean my wheels.

When I'm at the rink I throw some water on the floor in the restroom then do the crabwalk back & forth to clean them after they're clean I dry them on the carpet.

BTW you didn't hear this from me:)

  • OMG didn't hear that from you lol. I would think that wouldnt't work I would be afraid to try it. I would be afraid that I would get water in my bearings. : / I am accident prone lol.

  • what plates you got on those?

  • PowerDyne DynaPro or DynaPoop as alot of people call it. Its realy really heavy and they break easy.
