  • Ron Paul is the only top-tier Republican that refused to raise his hand when asked with a group of Republicans if they would approve waterboarding under some circumstances. Gary Johnson did too, but he is truly not a viable candidate.

Register Republican, and give us a 2012 election, in which American values of truth and respect are upheld. Paul is polling even with Obama in match-ups--he can win!

  • Ron paul will never be elected. You have the right to vote for him, but know you're wasting your vote (Unless you think it's cool to see him get 1.4% of the vote rather than 1.3% In that case go ahead and vote for him.

  • Is this the guy who got seduced by Bruno?

  • yeah

  • 2012!

  • RON PAUL IS the perfect politician

  • Fav 5*

  • Why do u think it's a false analogy?

  • The password is "hypocrisy".

  • Touchè, my friend.

  • the password is actually "the technique"

  • How is it a false analogy to say Japanese waterboarded and we waterboarded....we considered it torture when they did it therefore it is torture when we do it....are you firing on all cylinders? Do you have a GED or a real life HS diploma?

  • well, the japanese submerged their detainees in water and forced water into the lungs. Then after a while they would forced the water back out of the lungs.

We "just" (and i use just loosely) simulate drowning.

so yes they are both called waterboarding, but they are very different techniques.

  • Actually it is different, the Japanese didn't use torture to extract false confessions to justify a fraudulent war.

  • Actually, only 3 people were waterboarded.

And the Japanese just bombed a neutral nation killing more than 2,000 innocent men. And they forced people to pilot their planes into US battleships

  • You're switching subjects. It wasn't Japanese aggression that rendered their simulated drowning a crime. We would have be no more justified in doing it to them.

However, we were not truly a neutral nation -- we had imposed an oil embargo against Japan (usually considered an act of war) and maneuvered our Pacific fleet from its station in San Diego to Pearl Harbor - a clear indication to the Japanese that we intended to engage them soon.

  • i did not intend to switch subjects i was actually responding to freedom

    can you repost that link?

  • Do you mean this one?:

  • Kubikdav.....

You and others like you are the problem with this nation...

You don't argue technique which would actually be helpful...you argue fact...FACT....

Technique is a matter of experience mixed with imagination...i.e. opinion.

FACT is FACT and yet you war against it...you sidestep it...you lie...you do everything short of putting your fingers in your ears and go lalalala...

it's truly pathetic to see it in person...even worse in a public forum...

  • And who created falseflag operations to enter Vietnam and kill millions of vietnamese? Who killed 250.000 people with 2 bombs? and who killed 100.000 women, children adn old people in 1 nights firebombing of Tokyo? I rest my case

  • i dont understand what you are getting at.

I know the answer is america, but what are you arguing?

  • According to this article, the Japanese technique was virtually identical to our own (sans the cloth over the nose and mouth - hardly a sufficiently significant difference to warrant a completely different moral classification). Read it here:

  • You have two options....

Define the word Semantics and shut the fuck up.... or....

Realize that it doesn't matter the degree...torture is torture...

by your definition if a child rapists only sticks his tip in...he's technically not raping...because he didn't fully penetrate...

well I'll give you that...we stuck our tip in the vagina of innocence but it still raped our...OUR liberty...

We tortured...let them argue the degree at their sentencing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never said that we did not torture, nor did i say we did.

I just said that it is a false analogy, because the method was very different.

second you are arguing my claim that ron paul has a false analogy with another false analogy with the rapist comment.

  • I think he put the nail in the coffin on water boarding. It is in fact torture and the previous administration needs to be held responsible.

  • I dont think that Ron Paul is a real politician.

He makes way to much sense, AND he keeps backing up what he says with evidence!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!

I mean really, what kind of politician does that!

He even gives me the impression that he would keep his word if he got into office, would be reliable AND honest.

Nah he cant be real at all.

  • He is a statesman that just happens to keep getting re-elected. Thank you Texas. I still hate the Cowboys though.

  • Enhanced ingerrogation is not torture. Torture is torture. Enhanced interrogation is enhanced interrogation. If enhanced interrogation was torture, then Richard FatPig Cheney would call it torture. I am Rahm Emmanuel and I approve this message.

  • Please consider changing the title. It makes it look like the video is about Ron Paul torturing the rule of law.

  • Done!

  • How can someone disagree with what he just said?

I hope this message goes viral. People need to hear this rational thought.

  • another smoking hot comment from THE man

put dick in jail,,, then in the docket, then hang him !

  • I had this dream today that i went to school with a Ron Paul Revolution shirt and the teacher without an explanation told me ''take off the shirt or get suspended''. But i stood up and refused.

  • Torture is the food of terrorist organizations. I guess that is why our war profiteers use it as a means as well. Dick Cheney deserves jail just for the statements he broadcast on the television a few days ago.

  • No apologies but we do owe the wrath of law on a few folks. Don't let this data drop front the front!!! I'm writing on myself and going to protest on the street corner. I'm going to write Torture Me...I Might Not Know Something You Want Me To all over and then mock tie myself to a post at a busy corner.

  • chewbaca - grow up...

  • It makes me want to cry. "I thought you would torture me, and when you did not, I decided that everything I was told about Americans was wrong". The same can be said about what we are told about Muslims. This war is about old men lying to young people to drive their nations to war. Have we not evolved beyond this kind evil? Muslims are not our enemy, nor are veterans, constitutionalists, gun owners, or patriots. They have been playing these games with us for FAR to long.

  • You've said it well and I agree.

  • I guess we need owe Japanese WWII officers an apology?
