  • Cools

  • can't get any uglier ...

  • very exciting

  • its so ugly

  • 22 hours doesnt seem a lot if you dont drive a lot... Because I dont think I would use more than 50 percent of the charge in one day...

  • SO UGLY

  • all this widening of the americanized version of the mitsubishi i is still not enough to fit fat americans like me

  • Please keep buying...it helps my stock in coal companies! I love coal powered cars!

  • I like the whole electric concept but I think I can speak for the average American buyer - dam what an ugly tiny car! Americana have style and flavor if Mitsubishi doesn't consider this a useful concept will not get far. I can adjust my palate for the Toyota Prius but dam I don't care how " zippy and cool" it's suppose to be it is an eyesore first !

  • WAAAAAAAAAA

  • Our atmosphere is deteriorating very fast we need these cars now.

  • @jabawokingkong No sunshine, we need hydrogen cars.

  • @Knottyboyayb Either way would be fine.

  • Why can't we have these cars be affordable prices?

  • @jabawokingkong THEY WILL BECOME AFFORDABLE WITH TIME.....Remember paying 600 dollars for a VCR ? 3,000 dollars for a laptop computer ?? I do, because in 1987 I paid close to $ 700 for a Mitsubishi stereo VCR, and in 1998 I paid close to 3,000 dollars for a laptop......Big screen TV's were thousands of dollars when they first came out....Cheers...

  • i would rather buy a moped!

  • @TheSweettooth95 A MOPED WONT PROTECT YOU FROM POURING RAIN......AN ELECTRIC CAR WILL.....

  • go liquid powered car real cars ya!

  • and there is hundreds of differnt types of fuel out ther that we havent use yet did you know that for a sample effinal and it is a lot cleaner and alot better than any battery not engine

  • if i ever get a chance alone with a electric car it will be in peaces!

  • @TheSweettooth95 ELECTRIC CARS WILL FILL THE ROAD WITHIN FIVE YEARS AS GASOLINE PRICES REACH 5 TO 8 DOLLARS PER GALLON.....DON'T BELIEVE ME, JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH THE SHOW....GAS WILL SKYROCKET IN PRICE AS INDIA AND CHINA DEMAND MORE AND MORE OF THE WORLD'S OIL PRODUCTION, AND AS SPECULATORS BID UP THE PRICE PER BARREL......

  • electric cars are junk i'll never buy one i hope thay all burn.

  • @TheSweettooth95 Oh man the most ignorant comment i have EVER seen. You realize that gas is just fossil fuels left behind by dinosaurs right? Electric Vehicles WILL be the future. In current production, the Evo XI for example. Two engines, one electric one diesel hybrid. total output, 350HP according to officials. That's enough to spank ANY gas driven car under 70 Thousand. So dude, give electricity a chance. Remember that it travels quicker than what your brain is thinking.

  • And when the OEMs start using Lithium Phosphate cells instead of these dangerous Lithium Oxide cells, I'll be first in line. Til then, just build your own.

@fifafan1 Hydrogen is the least energy dense matter on the planet. It will never be viable for transportation. It's not suitable either for fuel cells or internal combustion.

  • Yep!! That what I want in my next car. To be Zippy!! Yo!! My car goes like Zippy fast yo!!

  • we need to abandon the whole electric car idea and just jump to hyrdorgen

  • I think if they would make the electric cars look more like traditional compact cars, they might sell more. The point is to reduce the "toy" look they give off.

  • By opening "Electric Stations" that'll create jobs!

  • the most Asian style hybrid I've seen for a while lol funny shape

  • @g3or3sistor not a hybrid

  • @ConvenientCow what other name would u have for an electric car then.. it's right in the title

  • @g3or3sistor hybrid is a mix its not an electric hybrid like the volt its just electric hybrid is a mix of something ERDUR

  • ugly. im not into that japanese styling

  • This was a very well made review. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of the car. I bought the Nissan Leaf. It is 1,000 times better than this car. If any car company wants people to buy their car, be it electric or gasoline, they have to keep looks in mind. A cool looking car always sells better than an ugly car. Unfortunately, this vehicle is just not attractive. Also the Leaf is a lot more high-tech feeling inside.

  • Right now I'm looking at the Chevy Volt but I really like the Leaf. You seem to get "more car" (as far as options like the large screen media system) with the Leaf. Lee's Summit has already installed an electric charging station in it's underground city garage and is accessible to everyone (currently you can sign up for free charges).

  • The American version is wider.

You know as they built it they called Americans fat asses.

I'd really like to nail that dude, he's kinda hot.

  • We are seriously thinking of getting one of these since I rarely ever drive outside our city here in 70769. We keep 2 cars so an electric as a daily driver would fit us perfectly the prius would be the new gas guzzler in our family? None of this is happening soon since we have prius and Xb paid for. Debt is not a good thing in our family and we will wait till some dumb ass sells their electric car cause they needed a tow when they ran out of juice.

  • i don't have a problem with making or buying one but why does it cost so much to get these cars from the companys it cost less just take take a light weight frame of a car and get 50 miles making one your self.

  • Mitsubishi i is AMAZING!!!

  • I think introducing electric cars to the market is a fantastic idea, but retiring other vehicles (i.e., Eclipse) in favor of electric vehicles is a different story. If I was running a car company, I couldn't bring in electric cars at the cost of alienating my sports car buyers.

I believe that nowadays it should be possible to introduce electric cars and keep building sports cars without losing any buyers. If Mitsubishi hadn't retired the Eclipse, I'm sure people would still be happy.

  • .....also, that for $22,000 which is like €15,000, that's brilliant I thought the I Miev was €35,000!

  • Wow, when you really look at it, 4 inches is a lot. And American tastes? Are you saying they're fat?

  • Why do they make'em so freakin froggy looking. Who is gonna be the 1st car company to figure out that a nice looking car will help sell.

I like the way its going though, nice vid

  • omg hes hot

  • What will be the range of gas-powered cars or even electric hybrids when oil on this planet runs out?

    Hmm... let me see... ZERO!

At that time, it will be too late, and all your anti-electrics will be CRYING and BEGGING to go 40 miles on a single charge.

Meanwhile, our electrics will keep running on wind and solar power until the sun runs out.

  • @mphello I hope you realize that the majority of the energy for electricity comes from oil. Solar power isn't efficient nor is wind. Stupid troll

  • @lorddoa I hope you realize that that is false, number 1. Practically NO electricity comes from oil. It comes from coal. And, secondly, most of the world's energy will be forced to STOP coming from oil, one way or the other, as drilling for oil becomes not worth the cost in terms of energy. And, solar and wind are both sufficient once we build the solar and wind farms.

But you are too stupid to get these facts, because you do not have the mental capacity to do math.

  • @mphello coal and oil are made of the same thing. Dead organic matter compressed for millions of years. Look I don't want to get in a troll war with you. I'm sorry, lets move on with our lives

  • @lorddoa

That still doesn't mean "all our electricity comes from oil".

It DOES mean "all our electricity comes from dead organic matter". Clearly, morons like you do not have the brains to know that a statement does not imply its converse.

  • @mphello wrong use of the term converse. Plus I already apologized. You are just an angry troll.

  • @lorddoa

I don't want people to apologize to me. I say that in general.

Just stop saying (and doing) stupid things, like presuming to know what other people are like inside, with your shitheaded "angry troll" remark.

  • @mphello The dumb ass American public is the best friend an oil company ever had. My electric car costs 2 cents a mile and my gas car costs 14 cents a mile. If there was a free fuel, we would still think of reasons not to use it. I drive my EV to and from work and get groceries with it. Perfect 2nd car and I drive it 80% of the time. Plugs in at work and at home. No problem.

  • @Alvord1430 = The dumb ass American public is the best friend an oil company ever had.=

I agree. Just had to fight off yet another anthropogenic global warming (AGW)-denying asshole on the internet just now.

I bought an electric-assist trike this year (arrived in August after a 3-month wait). Am using it instead of my car. May get the courage next month to turn in my license plates, give up my auto insurance, and be forced to rely ENTIRELY on the trike for transportation.

  • @Alvord1430 DON'T BE TOO HARD ON THE AMERICAN CONSUMER, as they have been brainwashed by the oil companies and car makers for many decades.....Back in the 1950's and 1960's Chevy commercials made Americans feel as poor patriots if they did not purchase a Chevy.......Now we have a population which even equates high speed trains with being a communist.......SAD.......

  • Ford cars are pieces of shit. NEVER buy a Ford.

However, EVERY car in the world has parts from ALL OVER. So, it is IDIOTIC and STUPID to have these NATIONALISTIC FEUDS over which "country" produces the better car. It's CORPORATIONS which produce cars, not countries.

Back in 1990, I deliberately chose to buy a Dodge Sundance, because I wanted to "support an American company and American workers". But, now I realize it was POINTLESS, and has become even MORE pointless since parts come

  • @mphello .. from all over the world and there is no freakin' practical way of knowing, let alone controlling, where the parts of a car that I purchase come from.

This year, I bought an electric-assist tricycle from Omega Stores in America. But, the trike was mostly built in China with the electric parts built in Germany. ALL my options sucked for an electric-assist trike.

I intend to replace my car with it.

THAT is the only way to survive the end of oil and fight global warming.

  • "Americanized - wider than usual for fat Americans"

Stop repeating false generalizations about Americans. It is BULLSHIT that there is an "obesity epidemic" in America. And, even if there is - SO WHAT? Nothing wrong with being fat.

You hypocritically attack fat people, but you don't attack REAL problems:

the needless murder and torture of BILLIONS of animals for meat each year.

We need a massive investment in biotech synthetic meat. Until then, veganism needs to be mandatory.

  • @mphello Secondly, you fail to condemn the OTHER true atrocity and injustice, besides factory farming:

human breeding. There is NO need for humans to reproduce themselves. That is PURE selfishness and greed. That is something people and governments CAN do something about. If they won't stop breeding voluntarily, we can pass laws and mandate vasectomies for men.

But, there is PRACTICALLY nothing people can do about their genetics, how fat they get.

  • Well done, honest overview. Every year we are getting closer options besides imported oil. When oil breaks $6 next oil crises electrics will be ready.

  • Oh man look at that sexy looking piece of shit.

  • Would the Middle East go into riot if the world no longer need their oil in the future?

  • how is the reliability on fully electric car really?? do u have to warm up first before u go off?? and and do u have to drain the battery well before u recharge it?? and do u have to fully recharge it as well before unplugging it??? sorry too many question cause i dont have a single damn clue about electric vehicle.

  • Damn you Californians and your slickness, showing everyone up.

  • thanks for the information

I did not know that the futuristic car existed

Yes the writer is correct - what happened to good old fashioned american knowhow

    - we got lazy

then again it might be said it was the Germans not Americans who put man on the moon- yet the US paid for it and took credit

  • so I guess for us (Amaericans) the Volt is better?

  • How come there is so few views? Their vids are great!

  • Very Very Very nice video!!

  • damn it guys it is by mo means the holly grails of the automotive world... well thanks to Chevron it is a bit.. but we did have about 4 automakers making full electric cars in the late 90's, for example the EV-1 the stock batteries could carry the car for about 150km on a charge... but then Chevron bought manufacturing and patent rights on a new battery type that could carry the vehicle for more than 200km. Toyota had their RAV4-EV, ford had the Ranger-EV... my point is, we already had them :(

  • sounds cool to say "I drive an I"

The car looks like a housefly without wings

  • is that George Lopez at 5:30?

  • LOOKS LIKE A TERD

  • This car is clearly made for japan!

Nice Video as alway. The editing is way better then other magazines da it.

  • Review the new 2012 ford focus pls!

  • Amazing video. Totally digging the drag race and banked turn.

  • I wanna go to Japan u.u

  • EVERYONE SHOULD BUY THESE!

... that way there will be more cheaper gas for me...

  • @jwatwater

If that happens in a million years and i would own a electric car, the boot will be alot smaller then normal cause I have to carry around a generator all the time :)

na come on gas prices will never go down....

  • I would absolutely LOVE an electric car (Fisker Karma) But I commute 84 miles a day, 5 days a week. One day Fisker.. one day..

  • Why does this guy rock soo hard at reviewing cars?

  • 0:35 Americanized - wider than usual for fat Americans. Arent Americans ashamed of themsemlves?! THis is pathetic. I do not want to insult them but there has to be done something about this. And this is the nation that sent a man to the Moon. Where is health care athorities to raise awareness and promote healthier eating and living.

  • @whatever04811 It's also to meet U.S. crash safety standards.

  • @yakovgolyadkin I agree with you but i cant help thinking it wasnt the primary reason.

  • @whatever04811 Have you ever seen an American in a group of Japanese people? It's not diet that makes us bigger; it's genetics -- almost an extra foot of height and arm span on average.

  • @whatever04811 i would rather have the extra inches

  • @whatever04811 i totally agree with you. in america is normal to looks fat, its the norm over here. fat people disgust me! theres many reasons to blame why were so fat, im not fat, but lots of people are

  • @whatever04811 I'm 6-feet tall and 176 lbs. I'm not overweight for my height, but my body frame is larger than a typical Asian man. So a wider car is appreciated.

  • @whatever04811 the reason they made it wider is because asian citys are small and more compact and in america it is way bigger highways compared to eruopean citys and all that, not because were fat and we already do but thats why were home of the free we can do anything we want to do so we can chose if we want to eat healthy. Plus we have bigger familys to so thats why we have alot of suvs.

  • @whatever04811 I know I totally agree with you. People just don't listen to what people have to say.

  • Do they design electric cars to look stupid on purpose? I don't care how amazing it is I would never consider it just because of how silly it looks.

  • If they would make a Lancer with an electric engine that looked like a normal one I would buy it in a heartbeat, or at least start saving for one

  • @BALJIT147 That would be amazing! Why do electric cars have to look like this always! like Mitsubishi, come on, you designed the badass EVO, why couldnt u make this better?

  • @datpimpinboy Exactly and their not even going to make the evo anymore so they can go green or whatever it's stupid

  • @BALJIT147 Not really, they were gonna stop making the EVO but EVO fans protested until Mitsubishi said they decided to keep the EVO. However, the Eclipse, Galant, and Endeavor are dead. It's sad especially for the Eclipse because I really liked the Eclipse. I really dont know why Mitsu is doing this, they should keep making cars like the Lancer, Outlander, etc. Not electric crap cars. The three diamonds are losing their grace...

  • conclusion: move to Japan

  • but....leaf looks so much better :P

  • Cute car, great review and awesome editing. Loved it, great job guys.

  • Anyone who has a second car in their family should get an electric car for local commutes

  • @videonaj Totally agree.

  • bicycle wheels on this car?

  • I like it but at the same time I dont, my job is only 4 miles away so thats 8 miles total a day but what if I want to go to san deago again, I would have to either get a rental or use my gas guzzler car that only gets 12mpg but I know it will get me there and back because it has already. At this point I wish a car manufacturer would make a nice looking 4 door car with the battery covering the entire trunk with either flip up rear seats or under seat storage just to get rid of the range problem.

  • @wilburfudd Go and buy a new Honda Civic HF, you'll get 42 MPG, and it's the same price. Plus with a gasoline engine you can always upp the fuel economy by adding a K&N sports air fiter, fitting lighter rims, sports spark plugs ect.

  • not bad for a city car but i don`t think i would wont one

  • It seems like a glorified golf cart

  • @thebenstrong So doesnt the smart car, but people have been recording 60 mpg in them. Id drive one if i could get that!

  • @deedundone I know. It's hard to believe, but the Smart is an extremely safe car for what it is.

  • @thebenstrong Actually thats true. They engineered the shit out of it, and thats not a lie :)

  • RON PAUL!

  • @mjeatsies Anachy, No Federal Government, Dissolve America into 50 states of Chaos, and What Not!

  • In America, it's been widened by four inches, probably to accommodate the size of our asses.. :D

  • @jacoale lmfao my thoughts haha. My coup deville is an entire half a car wider than most ever car made after it lmfao. Its as wide as three or four smart cars haha, I swear.... its like a titanic compared to them, and like a yacht compared to this lol.

  • 4:20 this is a less than sign <

  • cool music, good review

  • why do all electric cars look so gay. the only one that looks kinda ok is the volt

  • 4:19 i think you guys put in the greater than sign instead of the less than sign. i think.

  • why cant they make those cars look good?

  • @lekmann tesla.

  • @lekmann The tesla looks good only if it were affordable.

  • @lekmann Aerodynamics and things.....I guess.

  • @lekmann Because they don't realize we want a good looking car and an effective electric car

  • @lekmann i actually like the way it looks. electric cars in my opinion shouldnt look like gas cars

  • wow those are really skinny tires!

  • @crimsoninred skinny tires means less friction so its more efficient. just if ur wondering

  • what a horrible car. lol

  • It's a great city and town runabout but nothing more.

  • yuk!

  • yuk!

  • $29,000...for a golf cart. Why not get a motorcycle and a used Honda Civic for the same price?

  • @oldschool1 because the motorcycle is even less safe, and nobody wants used :) I wouldnt personally buy one, but given the chance id have the Chevy Volt. At least its American :)

  • @yakovgolyadkin Thats definately true but owning a chevy volt doesnt mean you've given up on life unlike the prius.... But of all that... just buy a deisel and get 70 mpg... and it can be cheaper than a prius

  • @yopranay The problem is there aren't any decent diesel cars being sold in the U.S. at the moment.

  • @yakovgolyadkin That is true hahaha... jeez we really need some

  • @yakovgolyadkin less mileage?? maybe you should do some research, with the electric motor fully charged the volt gets about 97mpg where as the prius gets roughly 50mpg

  • @revfan54 97mpg for 40 miles lol. After that not really. If you drive more then that and you combine both mpg its less then the prius.

  • @revfan54 The Volt on'y gets 97 mpge on its electric motor. It gets less than 40 mpg when the gas engine kicks in.

  • @revfan54 Yeah, 97 mpg until the batteries die, but the the Prius ALWAYS gets 50mpg.

  • @yakovgolyadkin ummm, its actually MORE efficient real world than a prius and its more powerfu, lol, the PRIUS is a joke, a 80's Fiesta got better mpg's

  • @yakovgolyadkin You're absolutely absurd. The Volt may need to be plugged in but it can be driven for 70 miles without using gas. That's a huge advantage over the Prius, or any hybrid competitor right now. The only joke is you, and your ridiculous views on innovative automotive exploration. BTW. The more people that buy Volts the more Chevy can produce amazing vehicles ZR1s and RS SS its all about the CAFE numbers! FOOL!

  • @JaisenJames Chevy admits that it has a maximum range of 35 miles on the electric motor, with a realistic city range of closer to 20-25 miles. Nice try, though.

  • @yakovgolyadkin Tell it to my 1990 Coup De Ville. Reliability of a Toyota my ass. I will drive my American cars until they die :) What you do say about the Volt is Overly true however, I wont argue it! Personally Im waiting for ford to come out with there cars, and, Ive always been a Nissan guy as well. Just my opinions.

  • @yakovgolyadkin I agree that the Volt isn't that great of a car, but it gets FAAAARRRRRR supirior fuel economy. More than double that of the Prius.

  • @AdrianC12345 Yeah, it's get 97 mpg UNTIL the batteries die (after about 35 miles), and then only 40mpg or (probably) less (depends on driving style) on the gasoline engine. But the the Prius ALWAYS gets 50mpg.

  • @yakovgolyadkin dude get your facts right. The Volt gets much better mileage than the Prius. You need your head checked. If you drive less than 40 miles, then you don't "need" gas. And the quality of a Chevy is better than a Toyota. I do remember Toyota's record breaking recalls not too long ago

  • @InsurgenceRX The realistic range of the electric motor in the Volt is 20-25 miles, not 40. The claimed range is only 35. After that runs out, the car is running on an engine that gets only 37 mpg.

And no, the quality of Chevy isn't better than Toyota. What about GM's recent 1.5 million car recall for the possibility of fire? Or their recall of Corvettes for the possibility of the roof flying off?

All manufacturers have recalls. But I see a lot more Toyotas lasting 200k+ miles than Chevys.

  • @yakovgolyadkin toyota had a recall for replacing the carpet, which envolved 5 million cars worldwide

  • @yakovgolyadkin don't you realise the volt is a brilliant idea and it's the future. the engine in order to extend the range was a brilliant idea, so good that bmw is using it in their i3 and i8 models. Essencially, the Volt is a electric car with it's own powerplant and it can run 40 miles in electricity alone and it can go up by filling it with gas. AND how is it less efficient? It does an average of 100+ mpg, combining electricity and gas

  • @yakovgolyadkin You're retarded !

  • @weedmastersr Do you have an actual argument to present, or are you 5?

  • @yakovgolyadkin First of all you're American and you should support you're economy by buying American car which are the best in the world.Second of all Chevy Volt is way better than a Prius, more reliable, better looking, more efficient(how can you say is less efficient?Prius is a hybrid that does 40 Mpg,the Volt does 120 Mpg),the japanese car reliability is just fake ! Oh and the interior is 100 times better in the Volt ! Both this car do more damage to the environment than a Hummer !

  • @weedmastersr No, I don't have to buy an American can because I'm American. American companies make shit cars.

The Volt hasn't been out long enough for reliability to be accurately measured, and it's ugly.

Nice made up numbers there. The Prius gets 60+ mpg, while the Volt gets 37 on the gas engine and 93 mpge on the electric, which only lasts 20-25 miles.

If Japanese reliability is fake, how come I see many, MANY more early 10+ year old Japanese cars on the road than American cars?

  • @yakovgolyadkin You're not worthy to be an American !

  • @weedmastersr Your profile lists you as being from Borsec, Romania, yet you have "GOD BLESS AMERICA!" on your page, and a profile picture of an eagle head superimposed over an American flag. Who are you to tell me if I am worthy of my citizenship in the country I was born and raised in? What is it with you silly Ea
