Why do you need to use Patch Panels? Couldn't you just hook the cabling directly from the switch then to the computers or other networked devices.

"This is just a tool to help minimize confusion and mess when you try and change something in the future with the cables."
However one can make a strong argument that adding extra unnecessary devices (patch panels) to the network adds to the mess and confusion : )~
