Well you see I put this "log cabin" together with bought materials, tarps, and sandbags. Its quite shitty but I do live off the grid......with broadband connection and telephone lines.

Know a guy who built a place from slabs hand milled half ton beams, no walls, just a few posts and a tiered roof to let the central fires smoke out. Hot-water system off the fire and a huge slab dinning table. Almost killed him a few times. :-)

are u really of the grid or did u buy land,abide by rules, paying taxes to whichthey can use to expand the government grid out there? I think if u have phones, net and on utube ur not off grid. i consider off grid, no need for money system and completely living off the land or water. no home depot, to old tires, no 4x4's,cars,ect... I'm no better just saying this is not my ideal off grid living.
