@guerreroyosmary hi, its called 'Doc Racing" by Randy Newman, and its only on the cars cast/crew soundtrack, where these type of soundtracks have ALL of the music in the movie unlike the soundtracks available to the public. The cast/crew soundtracks are only available to the movie makers as a gift.

I remember when I first saw this movie in the theatre. When I first saw Doc, I began wracking my brain trying to remember where I had seen his bodystyle before, and when it was revealed he was THE Fabulous Hudson Hornet, I felt like a twit, but at the same time, I had to bite down on my tongue to keep from letting out a "HELL YEAH!"

I think we can all agree: if Hudson were still around today American Cars would eat Lamborghini's for breakfast :P. Only 6 cylinders and 170 HP. I've heard that if the carbs are tuned with the same motor the Hudson Flathead-6 can make 210 HP. Funny how Ford bragged about 100 out of the Flathead V8! Can't whip the Hudson!

I know what you mean about the sound of the engine giving you chills... although for me it's for a different reason.

We've had various Hudsons in our family for years, ranging from a '41 to a '51... My dad had to sell his '51 last year because he has Alzheimers Disease and it's getting worse. He loved that car, but he can no longer drive, and my parents needed the cash. Now, when I hear the sound of a Hudson engine it always puts tears in my eyes.

cannot mess around with a 5 liter, inline 6! yea, thats right, i said 5 liters of displacement (think 302 in 6 cylinders, not 8) straight 6's are built to produce one thing; raw torque. the force that plants ur ass in the seat off the line. with the low center of gravity hudson built these with, they handled NASCAR's biggest for the first 5 years of the 50's. for those who dont know, lemme put it in perspective. faster than a hemi, better handling and more reliable trhan a flathead ford.
