  • lol the brunetten is dancing XD

  • i just came here to listen to the song in HD. o.o am i missing something? O.o

  • hey I want to sleep on the job and get paid for it like flight attendants do .

  • My boys hear this and start psuedo-ninja fighting all over the house! Thanks Gordon! Very entertaining!

  • Solidarity from Occupy Toronto site in St. James park!!!!

  • i cant imagine how any real canadians, unionized or NOT , can say they do not support this strike. lets all occupy on oct 15

  • People bitching about these strikes need to get their heads out of their asses. There are few industries where the workers get treated so poorly, work for free a lot of the time, and have overall horrid quality of life because of their employment. Yet, they're the lease paid for it. There's no money to pay these people, but the execs find enough to make huge 7 figure salaries, not counting the large bonuses they give themselves - neither of which they have a right to for poor performance.

  • There needs to be some editing done here but not a bad start.

  • Quit then. Go to another carrier. Find another job and leave Air Canada and let it fail.

  • @MrAdB Sure thing their buddy, just the right sorta thing to do in a recession when there are barely any jobs out there. Let's just go and throw away seniority, etc. Hey, how about rights? Do they mean nothing to you? Where do you work? Is it in a Union or a cushy job where you do not need to protect yourself from corp greed. The Rule of Law is being violated here by a Minister - who is has been on the take by AC exec.s! As Sabia did when took over LaCaisse.com, 50+ at the top should be cut

  • Great job! And thanks for informing the public on what is going on. The way management is treating you is beyond disgusting. Not to mention the government. I'd like to see that hag Ms Raitt work for 18K a year. Hell, I'd like to see her actually work. I think it's safe to say that the informed public can see exactly what the government is doing, and support the FAs totally.

  • Solidarity from a member of PSAC 901, Queen's University Teaching Assistants and Fellows

  • The regime in Egypt also hates unions. So did Saddam Hussein. All dictators oppose unions and workers because they want unlimited power. Time for Harper to go! Go flight attendants go!

  • The Toronto Civic Employees Union Local 416 C.U.P.E supports our fellow sisters and brothers!

  • I for one hope they defy the government and go on strike, I support them and wouldn't work for free or sleep in an airport waiting for the next shift.

For all the Canadians 39% of you that voted for this dictator of a Harper Government, you guys are next hope you enjoy because I'm not.

    Thanks for screwing Canada....

    Occupy anything, anywhere, any time!

And yes if you strike it will screw up my business plans going to Florida, but it's a small price to pay, Go Guys & Girls

  • Good luck Air Canada workers! Air Canada treats their customers just as badly as they treat their employees.

  • I SUPPORT YOU!! I'm an ex-FA. I worked for a non-unionized airline, and we had the same problems - but no recourse. The feds have NO right to interfere. Why do CEOs "deserve" their outlandish pay, but they say we feel "entitled" when we want to be paid fairly? People think FAs are servants of the sky, but we're there to evacuate the aircraft in emergencies, put out fires, subdue unruly passengers and save lives. Workers rights = Human rights.

  • Let's just hope that the self-centred, short-sighted people who support the government's interference work for the next company that the government forces back-to-work-legislation upon. Workers Rights = Human Rights. I ended up quitting from the airline I worked for - employees were too scattered, too scared and/or too brainwashed to get a union, and the CEOs are laughing all the way to the bank. Poor CEOs. Someone needs to put a roof over their head...on their third yacht.

  • Yes Air Canada! You guys keep it going. Fight for fair wages and working conditions!!!!!! In solidarity, Eric from CUPE 79 (Toronto Inside Workers)!

  • This made my day. I hope you get a fair contract and that Air Canada execs get what they deserve for trying to rip off their workers.

  • WHO are these people??? They certainly aren't Air Canada employees from before the assimilation with CAIL...Are they former CAIL employees???

  • @yycvor if you want to gage salaries with education your barking up the wrong tree. How many taxi drivers have a university education? How many construction workers making over $20 an hour even have high school? Industry Standards are just that ..standards...and for the most part the lowest standard that can be applied. With government always sticking their noses where it doesn't belong ( unless it suits them) employers will never really negotiate, they just wait for government intervention.

  • I hope you get a good and fair contract. Keep fighting

  • No education required for being a flight attendant. In fact its concidered a entry level postion at a airline, not just air canada, but worldwide. Alot of what they are asking is industry standard, including not paid to be at the terminal, or during boarding, or 8 hour minimum sleep time, ALL INDUSTRY STANDARD. How about your per diems? you forget to add that little tax free pay into your equasion of salary.. well over 1000 dollars a month on top of salary. Cry me a river

  • @yycvor then if that's all they're worth then I guess they're not an essential service and can strike without the government making outlandish claims and potentially CHANGING LAWS to force them to work. Who's really crying here??

  • @missjennifer48 Who will cry if the FAs strike are the tax payers in the long run. AC can chop the salarys of 5 maybe 10 people, but to give the 1000s and 1000s of ACA employees what they want will put the company in red. And the government will have to standby its word of essencial service and bail out the former crown corp once again.

  • @yycvor They should start by throwing out the corporate goons they listed in the beginning and find Exec.s that would be willing to work at reasonable salaries. M. Sabia walked into LaCaisse.com after they lost a collosall $47BN (invest+property) - you know what the first thing he did? Throw out 55 at the TOP of the org instead of trying to trim off the hard workers from the bottom - and the indicator to do so was the former head taking a 500k bonus after leaving the sinking ship!

  • @missjennifer48 Who will cry if the FAs strike are the tax payers. AC can chop the salarys of 5 maybe 10 people, but to give the 1000s and 1000s of ACA employees what they want, which mostly means being on the clock at all times, well over industry standard. Fares go way up, resulting in red ink quarter after quarter. And the government will have to standby its word of essencial service and bail out the former crown corp once again. Mediate and find something that works for both sides.

  • Well done!

  • These Harperites are horridly anti union. This whole AC fiasco shows why we need unions in Canada and around the world. Keep speaking up. I hope more of your colleagues do things like this. I wholeheartedly support you guys and so does the rest of the country. Fight on friends!

  • Bravo...

Stand up to the Harper thugs..

  • Fantastic. Stand up for unions.

  • I absolutely love it! My brilliant, brilliant colleagues!!!!

  • Fantastic.

  • BRAVO to the ACFA's!! EXCELLENT WORK! Everyone, SHARE with all friends everywhere!

  • 0:47 "I should have married a CEO" accompanied by a hand gesture which suggests airline executives have tiny wee-wees! Ohhhhh!!!! It's like Bill Gates...

    Flight Attendants: How so?

    Me: Y'know....Micro-soft!

  • Air Canada needs to be thrown to the side and rot.. fly WESTJET!

  • One just has to look at what happened in the U.S. with the toxic waste bonds that have almost gutted the world's economy. If you look at how many people were involved in this tragedy, and the number that were punished, literally no-one went to jail for this crime. If a worker was to steal 20 grand from the Gov. (Tax's) they would get 10-20 years in jail. These criminals got nothing and were given bonus's to stay!

  • I usually read a job description before I sign on, rather than signing on and then complaining when the job ends up being exactly like the description...

  • @zerratic They're actually trying to take away more benefits, wages, etc. But good one... I usually do my research about an issue before posting snarky retorts...

  • @missjennifer48

I did my research too. They are doing those things, but you're also complaining about things that you were told would be part of the job when you took it, which is where my point comes from. Good like with your strike, if Ottawa isn't going to support you I'd start looking for another job now...

  • @zerratic like= luck

  • @zerratic When my friends took the job the conditions were decent. Ever since bankruptcy, the front line workers have had their benefits taken away from them (used to have six passes a year, for example) they had their salaries cut and they were asked to work 10 more hours a month (with less pay!).

Do you think it is fair that they pay EI, and if want to use it are treated as if they are working half the hours of everyone else who pays the same to EI?

  • When Flight Attendents and Pilots took the job, they were told there were no risks to their health. Well, all the studies that have been hidden deleted and banned by corrupt judges (in France you cannot findthe studies anymore) regarding the higher level of Cancer in Flight Crew - why? Because they are ALARMING!!! It would be bad for business, but it is okay to use my friends life and health as expendable - who are there primarily for security, not for drinks I might add.

  • @zerratic yea... I'm not striking on anything? Just in support of their right to strike. If the government forces them to go back it's a sad future for canada in general, not just the AC flight attendants. They're refusing to be pawns and so should you.

  • @zerratic Wow, that seems rather simplistic don't you think? Did the flight attendants ask to have their pensions underfunded for years, under the excuse of bankruptcy? Check out the salaries these corporate goons are taking in, why have't they returned the pay cuts to the employees who helped save the airline during the tough times? Do you know that they are only paid by the hour and when the engines are running (?) and not for the hours actually worked? They work more now and are paid less!

  • How about at least 1 percent a year for inflation (even though it i 2% avg) did the corporate douchebags even give that to the flight crew in the past seven years? Nope, nada, zilch, and the latest proposal was for an insulting % raise in quess what - 2 years!!! Thieves who are protected by Harpo's puppets in Parliament - those who refuse to respect the right to Strike, from a Govt already found in Contempt of Parliament and of the Canadian people. Their rage is legiimate, and so is OWS movem.

  • okay you big crybabies if your so sure its gonna work ur stupid strike than show your faces!!!!!!!!!

  • @sugarush002 show me your face so next time you come on my flight in can take a dump in your food

  • @mrdemolition00 Given the food on Air Canada he might not even notice the difference. The sad fact is a lot of flight attendants have to eat the leftovers to survive.

  • Tribunal members traveling for the feds get paid for time waiting at airport.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • When business class and first class passengers get a pre-departure drink from us, when we help elderly passengers with their luggage, when we help solve duplicate seat problems during boarding. We are not getting pais a single penny !

all the best to you , Air canada Flight attendants. From a friendly United Airlines flight attendant.

  • WELL DONE! I'm a teacher ... Could you come over and help us make a video?

    LOVED IT!

  • Good job guys! The facts are coming out! For people out there... Would you work 13hrs and get paid only half of it??? NO!!! Inform yourself! They are not crying babies, they are just below the poverty line that are trying to get better conditions. Good for you guys!!!

  • @doum1000 WELL SAID, hear hear - make the execs work on the planes and see how long they last before changing the work conditions to suit their money-hoarding needs.

The max salary of a FA is about 50k - which i perfectly reasonable for someone who is responsible for the lives of 55 passengers Their starting salary is only 27$k, a mere hair above the poverty line!

  • Good job guys! The facts are coming out! For people out there... Would you work 13hrs and get paid only half of it??? NO!!! Inform yourself! They are not crying babies, they are just below the poverty line that are trying to get better conditions. Good for you guys!!!

  • @doum1000

I don't know... What about sleeping and resting "on the job"?

Is it true that you sleep half the time on the long transcontinental routes?

You could say what kind of work pays people for sleeping ?

  • Those AC execs have screwed that company and their staff since 1959 and I as a tax payer am fed up with bailing these pricks out......and dont tell me about it going private in 1986 cus that BS>......Taxpayers still keep them going and the management is the problem not the staff

  • Comment removed

  • Our Govt say people in these countries need their rights, right to work and receive good wages. etc. What a double standard. Our Gov't is hell bent on ruining the middle class and making us Third World. Hypocrites. No 1 in North America for service etc? I've seen a huge turn around in attitude by the employees and you've made a great airline with numerous awards. Why are they selling this to the flying public then boinking you for being great employees. Go figure? I love this video!

  • Gov't wants to break the Unions. Without Unions protecting workers we might as well all move to a third world country with dictators who fill their pockets with our money like Libya, Eqypt, Syria, Phillipines, etc. Continued post

  • ACs are not easily replaced. Firstly, there are 6,000 of them. Secondly, during possible strike they tried to train the managers to do over seas AC jobs. Almost all of the failed the safety tests. I wonder what percentage were physically capable to do the job?! As well if I left my job for over a week to do training my department would fall apart. Apparently AC has managers to spare?!

  • Reality check....f/a's are easily replaced...high school education only requirement.

Only a handful of CEO's (most have MBA's and years of business experience). CEO's are not unionized and can be fired at any time. Don't like your job....use your expertise to find a higher paying job. Good Luck!

  • @moveebuff

nooooooo....they can't be fired....they have iron clad contracts....with termination clauses...

    read....the fine print...or shut up..

  • @moveebuff do you want the people who could be responsible for saving your life in an in-flight crisis to be "easily replaced" or should we maybe work towards a higher value to the job of people who might save the life of yourself or someone you love, have to leave their families on a weekly basis to cater to the needs of cranky passengers, are bilingual (definitely not a dime a dozen skill), and meanwhile still experience sexual harassment, stereotyping, and objectifying job requirements?

  • @missjennifer48

on 9/11 and any hijackings the flight attendants were totally useless so I don't see how in the world can they

save people . That maybe because most of the FA's are women most of them obese and gays. You can replace the flight attendants with simple signs in case of landings and barricading the cockpit. With that said , I am looking to apply for a flight attendant maybe even with air canada in order to

    enter this field.

  • @gledalac1979 Wow, you just integrated about 10 offensive, uninformed, ignorant points of view into one pointless comment. I'm not really sure it's even worth arguing... Good luck with living among people though.

  • @missjennifer48

it's easy to be offended and I am not against since you I look to apply for this position in order to enter this field but have FA's really saved anyone ? Guiding people to slide down the chute is hardly heroic. Why didn't they do anything on 9/11 or any hijackings ? Do they give false assurance in a way? Maybe passengers would fight back against the hijackers if FA's weren't there. As for gays and women, sorry I haven't flown in a while but that's what I heard

  • @gledalac1979 No, its easy to be ignorant to say women & gay people could not save ppl? Also, u have NO idea what the FAs of 911 or any other terrorist encounter did to save ppl - ntm situations that COULD escalate but are defused by the conflict resolution skills all FAs use to keep u safe @ 35000 ft. FAs fighting terrorism, etc arent talked abt to keep ignorance like urs: the US/Canada don't want their narratives of bravery to celebrate "useless gay/women FAs". Imagine the outrage if it were.

  • @missjennifer48

I am saying that there is a perception out there that FA's are mainly gays and older women with few expections where the younger and more attractive FA's sleep with the pilots and they are

by no means a physical deterrent to a sabotage nor do they offer security on board, only comfort . This is a perception out there and I am honest about it since I need to apply for a FA position in order to enter the aviation field but I have no choice.

  • @gledalac1979 lol You're equating perception with fact. Good luck with your big plans... these messages will make a good cover letter.

  • @gledalac1979 Wrong - FAs are trained to be able to handle attacks. They may not all be big thugs, which you assume security is (impression from your comment)- but when Air France's plane crashed in TO and everyone was off the plane in 90s that is the security they are primarily trained for - you try and have a bunch of knuckle dragging goons do the same in an orderly fashion. They would be physically in the way of exists and corridors, for example.

  • @moveebuff

reality check ... CEO's are even more easily replaced because they are not trained or schooled in

the business they run and they don't work with their hands. They are nothing but an empty mouthpiece

that works for a few people on very top

As for education , that doesn't mean anything really since all education needs to be paid.and most of what

is taught is too general and forgotten in 10 years. These CEO's don't update their skills unlike those working with their hands.

  • YES!!! Good job you two!

As an ex flight attendant for AC I applaud your efforts loudly!

  • (black AND white). This tiny screen on my phone is too small!

  • There it is, in black in white (or blond). Good job! Your efforts are highly commended! Thank you!

  • Love it. So Creative. Thanks for your efforts!

  • GUYS...that was awesome!!!!!! to the point and clear...well for me at least...good on ya mates!!!!

  • Great video! well done ! Maybe Calin and Susan should be on reserve for a few months to really

    "feel" the "buck up"!

I hope you get what you asked for. Keep up the good work ! LOVE AC Crews! they are the best!

  • Right on ! Well done. I applaud your efforts..Harper supports you taking cuts while execs wallow in wealth. Remember that when you next have a vote.

  • I know those wigs...! Well done guys...
