  • Looks like a concert for grand theft auto san andreas.....

  • It was okay, nothing amazing though.

  • Dance is supposed to be whatever you feel from the music, from the moment

  • I had to watch this twice, once for the music and second to laugh at he shitty dancing from the blonde chick.

  • this is pretty sick...might have to add this concert to my summer to do list

  • holy hell i dont think i have ever seen that many people try to crowd surf before

  • OOO FUCK... SHIT.

  • He makes good mashups, but Girl Talk's live shows are pretty terrible. I'd much rather jump around to people playing instruments and seeing the passion in their playing. A dude on a computer just doesn't do it for me.

  • @Impromptwo well u do that

  • lolla is gonna be SICK WITH THIS DUDE FOR SUREEE, Im black and i cant wait lol

  • this looks like a great fucking time. Can't wait to see him at lolla this year

  • youtube.com/watch?v=gVyKxbePDp0

  • so stealing others peoples music and playing it in different orders is music? What is the world coming to...

  • @Bearswin8584 more like he takes music and makes it better

  • @Bearswin8584 I saw this dude live in Boston. It was insane. The guy is just very creative. His ear for beats and samples is incredible. If anything else, I look for creativity as much as I look for a guy who can play a mean bass. So just give his creativity credit and leave it at that.

  • Girl Talk has such good mash ups, but I cant see buying a ticket for a concert. I'd much rather enjoy the quality of my hi-fi stereo or headphones then watch him jump around on stage between some dude's pumping fist.

  • Quiero una máquina de tirar papel higiénico como esta para hacer una fiesta en mi casa !!! GENIAL GIRL TALK!

  • whats this song called?

  • @nollam22 Play Your Part (PT.1)

  • Im just thowing this out there... Put some Girl talk tracks on a DJ hero expansion... you know activision wants to

  • @Raphael2885 not gonna happen, he loses his appeal for money? this looks more fun than overdosing in a secluded mansion.

  • @WC39 its actually possible it would happen since the court has ruled what he is doing is his own creation. and using his songs would bring great difficulty matching them up to the second song they give you in the game since his is so many songs in one song. its actually an excellent idea. and girl talk has said in interviews he's all about the music if people want to enjoy his music in that way, and state it, he would probably do it.

  • @WC39 most artists actually like the music video games, because they get kids interested in the arts and can be played with a family. its only the true sellout artists like dave ghrol and courtney love who hide thier greed and lament of not getting ENOUGH money to be apart of them through a false sense of underground righteousness.

  • haha during this some dude pulled a girls panties and she thought it was me and she started freaking out at me...luckily she was crowd surfing

  • i cant believe how many morons there are who like shit music

  • my anthem

  • where are these people comign from lol

  • People fucking!!!

  • fucking people!

  • what's the sample @ 0.12 from?

  • stfu

  • i was ther it wassick

  • this was so awesome..the stage started breaking shortly after this and everyone had to get off! i was standing further back. biggest crowd for side stage i've seen. lolla yeeea!!

  • Where can I buy his jacket?

  • yeh at 4:00 its lookin boy by yung joc

  • does anyone know what rapper he is sampling at like 4:00 with come sail away?

  • lollapalooz=weekend for an excuse to never wear a shirt haha

  • and smoke pot.

  • like anyone needs an excuse.

  • hahaha touche.

  • gt all day

  • just got back from his concert here in ottawa. I met him like in person. it was crazy!!

  • True, the Bluesfest show he put on was great.

  • the girl on the left side of the stage with the pink top, black shorts and short blonde hair cannot dance for shit.

  • @jrkb300 i dont know man i dont see anyone else doing anything better

  • @jrkb300 maybe shes drunk

  • @jrkb300 i've seen worse

  • girl talks live show -> hit play, dance(preferably with girls)/crowd surf for two hours.

  • He has tons of samples, he has mental cues, and memorizes different samples that can be blended together. He plays different songs than those which are on his albums and plays a variety of different mixes at each show.

  • i've been to more than one show of his, and listened to many more here on youtube, and i've never heard anything, NOT ONE SECOND OF MUSIC, taken straight from any of his CD's.

  • holy shit that looks like a party

  • I fact I know about you. you misuse "your."

  • who are the people on stage?

  • its girl talk dude.... u can just hop on the stage and dance with greggy

  • this is awesome. what song is this?

  • play your part off of feed the animals

  • Comment removed

  • this shits amazing!

  • dude 3:16- so on, IS FUCKIN AMAZIG

    i love it

    what old song is that?

  • come sail away by styx!

  • really? the piano part that start? damn, ive only heard that song a million times lol, i guess i never really paid attention to it

  • personal goal......Get on stage with gregg gills...tick!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Man, the player haters on youtube never cease to amaze me.

  • Depends on who you ask. The way they revolutionized electronic music lends me to rank them as the best, just as how the Beatles revolutionized rock.

  • rofl 1:45 someones feet

  • nigga learn english

    *hear

  • Pure genius!

  • one of the reasons I regret missing lollapalooza last year

  • great sound and video quality

  • dabears245: LOL! I thought I was the only one who noticed that girl! That dance of hers is such a turn off!

  • Haha accomplished composer. Look, composing music is hard. I do it, too. I play guitar, banjo, and keyboards. But let me tell you, knowing 11 strings, 88 keys, and a couple dozen chords is a hell of a lot easier than having thousands of songs in your head and mixing them on the spot. I can't believe he does this live. I could never do this. Meta-music is harder than original music, except for classical and metal.

  • Exactly. I will defend him to the end of the earth.

No one is doing this better than him right now. No one.

He's the Daft Punk of this style.

  • You think he is mixing all of this live? He basically presses the 'play button' on his laptop.

  • i'd *love* to see any of you that's bashing him to sit down with a bunch of CD's and produce anything even remotely as clean as GT songs

  • I love Girl Talk and his mashups are amazing, but I'm going to have to agree with you.

I don't see what he's doing live other than pressing play and dancing.

  • I've been on stage for a girl talk concert and believe me he is doing more than just hitting enter. He mixes the tracks manually there on stage.

Its also just about the most fun you will have at a concert. So stop hatin...

  • You haven't been to many concerts

  • i was there!

    it was fucking insane

  • This is just a bigass party! and i wouldve loved to be there!!

  • DJs like Girl Talk and Dan Deacon inspire a new sound and genre. This is what musicians do. Elvis, the Beatles, and Hip-Hop in general have all had their credibility questioned. Mashing up, or cyber/musical composition, or whatever you want to call it, is experiencing the same criticism. It will pass.

  • dfresh523..ur a cock the mans a hero..sure hes not a musician but hes a fuckin savage dj, id say hes got more talent on his right foot then uve had ur entire life ya bell end!

  • not a musician? you kidding me?

  • What really pisses me off about this guy isn't his fame, but rather that so many people refer to him as a "musician". The dude's a good DJ, and he has a good ear, but instead of digging deep and using rare samples that people don't recognize and getting creative with those, he goes and uses top 40 hits. I'm not impressed, at all.

  • when you can make a mash up that compares to his you can talk... until then my friend... dont act like you know what your talking about.

  • @laxamazing pretty sure he makes this in cubase or something, not live with DJ gear. Not sure what he's doing up there exactly.

  • @kirydawg AudioMulch

  • i'd love to see moopyka even try to put something together this good.

  • at around 1:50 a chick in a pink shirt is seen on stage. Is she not one the he worst dancers you have ever seen

  • haha loooking boy!

  • So he just sits there at his laptop the whole time? What a lame. I don't get why this guy is so popular he just steals people's music and ruins good songs.

  • yeah, I just don't understand why millions of people appreciate his skills of matching up completely different genres of music into one awesome song.

    What a lame!

Those people at that concert don't look like they're having fun at all, do they?

  • actually...i had an incredible time...if you hate dancing and partying then yeah it would be lame

  • first, when did lame become a noun? second, what he does is actually quite complex, I'd like to see you make something half as creative as his throwaway works.

  • I made it a noun and I am actually an accomplished composer. See what I do is actually create original music instead of illegally stealing other's people's music so I'd say I make things that are even more creative than him.

  • how convenient that you are an accomplished composer. i myself have cured aids and fed an entire village in africa for three months. i also invented dinosaurs... and bread. regardless, theres this cool thing called clearing samples. DJs and mashup artists do it all the time. If you get clearance from an artist to use that music, it means they approve of what you do with their music, so id venture to guess that the majority of the artists he incorporates would disagree with you.

  • Hahaha that was funny but I'm actually serious about being a composer. I compose choral music for junior high and high school choirs. And the research I've done has all led me to the conclusion that Girl Talk doesn't get permission for the music he samples. I could be wrong about that though I'm not sure. Regardless, his music sucks and I don't find it creative at all. That's just my opinion though.

  • im pretty sure if the artists had a problem with him making songs out of their music there would have been a lawsuit by now and i can just about guess that you dont like mashup/rave music because your a highschool/junior choir composer....

  • Heh. Trick is, it would be so expensive to get the clearance for all the artists, that no-one could afford it. So he doesn't. His label is called "Illegal Art", by the way.

  • did Gregg borrow his clothes from Kevin Barnes

  • I was a couple rows behind whoever was filming this. Incredible show.

  • 2:18 is my favorite part. Such an amazing beat.

  • its TI - What you know Instrumentals

if you didn't know, and yeah.. it is pretty amazing

  • why give me a thumbs down

    thats a good thing

  • super cute

  • fun to listen and very substantial and emotional too

  • Just like Warhol and Lichtenstein, they took something and made it completely new, just like GT

GT is a pop artist bitch

  • Dude i was standing like right next to you!

  • oh shut yourself. Its not claimed to be amazing. Its just fun. its fun to listen to, fun to dance to. Why dont you go sit in your corner with precious radiohead whilst we go have fun. cya

  • Amen

  • Look, i love girl talk, i think gillis is genius, but dont be dissin on radio and equally genius band

  • gt uses radiohead in his mashups, so cant i do both?

  • tightest show at lolla fo sho

  • I just don't get it.

  • me neither

  • you don't need to get it

    that's the beauty of music

  • I wish I coulda seen his whole set - the stage they put him on was WAY too small for the crowd that he drew. I couldn't see a thing and I kept getting squashed - not fun!! But yay Greg - love GT =)

  • girl talk's tight. he's fun to listen to. so stop putting him down. who reallllly cares.

  • yall have taken all the fun out of girl talk

  • I want to find myself. I was front row right in the middle. It was insane. I was pushed up against the guard rail so much I had abotu 4 bruised ribs. Well worth it.

  • bunch of people climbing and sitting in the huge trees

  • i love the steve winwood in the background

  • dude i love girl talk

    fricken amazing

  • amazing

  • ahh my favorite part of the show was when he got on the boat n went over the crowd... freakin amazing!!!

  • i go to concerts all the time and I saw him last night and that concert, only about 1k people, was the most unreal thing ive ever been to. anyone hating and saying he isnt good at what he does, you can shut the fuck up, he has an unbelievable talent and no one else does it like him.

  • this was my second time seeing girl talk one of my favorites too. i saw him at pitchfork, lollapalooza, Nov. 4th in Milwaukee, and Nov. 8th in Chicago and everytime hes the fucking bomb.

  • why be mad at him? he's rocking the party, he has the most fun shows most people will ever go to... Enjoy it, or move along

  • oh my god he's so amazing. the mash ups that he creates are something else. and yes it is music since he is taking other MUSIC and making it into something else. it's just music in a different form

  • he's mixing songs live using only a laptop. You really need to have an open mind and a closed mouth. People don't want to hear or see your negative spoutings. Now go find a teddy bear and cuddle up with it...cuz I have a feeling you weren't hugged enough as a child.

  • and your point being? There are many artists out there that aren't musicians, yet somehow, manage to play beautiful music. Are you saying that in order to be able to play music, you have to be a classically trained musician? I think not. One of the great and many talents that God has bestowed upon man is the gift of creativity. And whether his instrument is a hunk of silicon, or a brass noise maker he's still classified as a musician. So why not just admit it--you are jealous!

  • man, if he's got hundreds bouncing like that, he must be doing something right, whether it is music of not

  • Ok. So tell me this. Artists like Armin van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, and many of the other trance/techno lords...does this make them mashup artists? No. They blend 2 or more songs together in a long stream of artistically blended beats, moods, and vibes. I'm not contesting the fact that this guy does mashups. But to not call him a musician is like saying someone who tags a subway car as not an artist. These folks take a medium and use it to their best ability.

  • I can see your point to an extent. And don't get me wrong here. I am, by no means, defending GT. And I see that our opinions, being what they are, will not always agree. I however do enjoy our friendly banter, so for now, this issue of GT sucking is closed. Oh, and if it's ok, I've added you to my friends list. Peace! =)

  • Of course our opinions will differ, yeah thats cool even if i dont use youtube like that

  • the thing is none of the music he creates sounds identical to the original songs, therefore taking pieces from the songs and speeding/slowing the tempo creates something completely different. this is an art.

  • You are jealous and have no idea how he actually does his shows or even tried to make a mash up yourself....Be jealous until you are a more recgnized musician

  • yeah and robert rauschenberg simply rode the avante garde artist train in the 1950s. im not saying that GT will mean as much to music as Rauschenberg did to modern art, but what they are doing for their time is very similar. if you cant see any creativity what Girl Talk is doing you simply arent trying, or youre just too dumb to see it.

  • I've been making similar allusions to Girl Talk and artists as well, but people just don't see the art.

  • wow what a turd. He DOES create sounds retard, how do you think he blends the beats? There are plenty of custom loops there and new sounds added to make it smoother.

  • You and the 6 other people on this planet that dosent like GT

  • lol make that eight? Most people don't see the big deal about it because all he's doing is mixing things for us not like he should be paid to go to a concert and rock out with everyone else... but w/e it's my own opinion.

  • Well, looking at the fact that its never been done and its a revolutionary movement in music. I would say it is a pretty big deal.

  • Ever heard of a dj? i have it's quite literally what they do except that this guy made it worse. D.j.'s incorparate their own shit into the music or completely make a new piece of work while this guy simply melds music together and instead of adding something of his own like a dj does he leaves it at that and calls it new music *palm face*

  • Haha, you have no clue what your talking about. And your one of those nerds that does the *palm face* things. Get a life fag

  • I may be on the comp a lot but i do more than you so, no, you go get a life. I rock climb both in and out doors, ski and snow board, water ski as well, surf, kayak, canoe, kick box (amateur competition), play soccer and volley ball. So ya stfu you idiot just because i'm more intelligent than you does not mean that i waste my life away. K, thanks. Pwned.

  • Haha, once again with the nerd talk, who says "Pwned"? And I seriously doubt you do all those things, you just want to "pwn" me over the internet because thats all you can do!!! Haha, Soccer and volleyball are pussy sports bro, man up. And I gaurentee I know more than you because I do the same thing he does and that is so much better than anything you can do, (although you can probably beat him on Xbox Live)

  • I'm sorry but i do indeed do all of those things. I get around a lot during breaks and summer-time. Either way i do do more than most people and still manage to have the time to play games which is not bad. Either way i realize you have no way of knowing for sure and i don't care this is my last post on this pathetic thread i'm tired of pointless arguments. Bye.

  • This isnt a forum by the way, its comments, Lawlsanga. And uh Youtube, is a small galaxy of pointless arguments.

  • who cares what the fuck else you do?? "ok well i rock climb... pwned!" it takes tremendous skill to do what girl talk does- take songs and make them sound nothing like the original honestly i dont give a shit if you dont like it, but dont trash it as not music

  • Lol do you not hear all the loops and other noises behind all of this to make it blend togother? Saying he doesnt do anything but make them fade out and into eachother is just a plain idiotic comment man. Anyone can hear this and say every song is WAY diffrent then their orignal. Eitherway, it dosent matter. He's at lolapalooza,Nobodys forcing you to like it, go rockclimb and listen to a real dj, He dosent even call himself a DJ and emphasizes that.

  • whatever he is, it was a fun show for sure

  • I would suggest checking out some Amon Tobin,

who until recently used only pre-recorded samples for all his music or Steve Reich's early tape loop stuff(1965-66): It's Gonna Rain and Come Out. Really John Cage was the first to use record players as instruments in Imaginary Landscape No. 1 (1939). Look these names up on Wikipedia. I wouldn't consider their work uncreative because they only used samples and I play multiple instruments. You seem to have a dated interpretation of creativity.

  • Those techno artist might used 2-4 songs in one track. In one album Girl talk used 160+ samples not many can do that as good as him

  • *see post above*

  • Does anyone know what the song is that he syncs up at time 2:17?

  • what you know by TI

  • what he said

  • this looks so fun, i'm so pissed his show in november sold out. he plays all the jamz.

ahaha, your user name is awesome...mclovin.

  • finally done w/ my homework ne1 4 chat? Q
