  • very good vid. I didn't realize you need to compare the plugs.

  • Forgot something too.Change the fuel filter during a tune up.Do you want to pay for an expensive fuel pump if it fails.A plugged up fuel filter will put a strain on the fuel pump and kill it.

  • Points went away in 1972,Chrysler was the first followed by Ford.GM went to electronic in 1975

  • lol at 2:23 does he say "good shit there" ?

  • @DonElmerLopez Nah he says good fit there.

  • @DonElmerLopez good fit there.

  • god i love that tune at the end haha

  • What exactly is a tune-up?

  • 4 people are mechanics.

  • I'm deaf - it would have been nice to see captions or at least a script link to go to. You had parts I was clueless as to what they were. I've maintained 1970's vehicles (I'm a woman with little auto experience) and these new cars are a nightmare to maintain. Like the guys were saying, I was taught to do one at a time. Disconnect the spark plug cable, change the plug (gaps set these days already) reconnect with the new cable. Move on to the next one (they were diff sizes back then too)

  • Hey hotb5y learn proper spelling and grammer You come on like a ghetto man

  • @Olddog231 grammar*** your comment is the biggest fail ive ever seen on youtube. idiot.

  • Great Job!

  • Lol @ the cheesy 80's music at the end.

  • what about checking the wires?

  • I didn't realize what make of car it was til i heard i start, honda =)

  • thanks for the video hommie, it was real simple.

  • this is such a great video, thank you so much for making this and posting it.

  • i got a 96 crown vic and i cant pass inspection cuz dey say dey can smell gas out my tailpipe....do anybody kno my problem?

  • you forgot to put anti seize compound...nice done video..

  • lòl_Ì_fEèl_sô_lõNËlý_tõDâÿ

  • @SesaaaLoniio360 Why did you say lol in that if all you do is paste that bullshit everywhere, you soulless fuck?

  • ok and whats the odds of having to fix the gap?

  • plugs seemed easy but caap and rotor got me lost. i think wires shoulda been done instead

  • imma say this im a beginner and im thinkin hell if its this easy to do a tune up i may just do it my damn self

  • thats wat u call a mullet lol

  • @Rocky334 He's a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll

  • another good tip if your changing spark plugs when you have aluminum heads is to wait untill everything cools down, cuz different metals expand at different temps

  • howcome he didn't change the air filter

  • lol, thats the same car that i have.

  • basic, but well done- thanks :)

  • I was just wondering if you can replace the parts while the battery is still connected to the engine ? thanks in advance

  • Gracias! Excelente Basic Video.

  • my check engine light is on on my 2001 Daewoo Lanos i was going to change out the plugs soon but what all do i need to check since the light is on?

  • @Matthew55904 - You'll need to have the vehicles onboard computer scanned to find out what trouble code is present and then diagnose from there. Most auto parts stores will scan the computer for you at no charge.

  • @Matthew55904 Fuel Injectors need to be cleaned/Fuel Injector Pump is going bad. Approx cost: $800 + labor + taxes

  • He forgot a few things...PVC valve, Air filter, gas filter..

  • @NASIMNASIM That's in another tuneup type (Basic, Advanced, etc.) and the filters need to be changed to keep your gas mileage at the exact MPG of the original manufacturer and the PCV valve must be changed to keep your PCV working properly. Also, the fuel injector pump/fuel injectors must be cleaned out or replaced if necessary to keep your gas mileage normal instead of 2MPG.

  • Great Video! my favorite part= 7:28 'Just Snug It Up' lol

  • Comment removed

  • wonder how easy or hard it would be to try and take out the spark plugs in my impreza... its a boxer so the plugs are way down by the sides... gotta try it out

  • Very educational, well done! You should upload your video to this site, Ewisdomtv

  • God I wish I could get to the back of my engine to get to the other 3 without taking half the damn engine out. =\

  • @zeepman Same here I have a '99 Taurus and two of the plugs are way behind the plenum.

  • good vid, but only wish it was a little more up to date. most cars dont have distributors anymore. but still good stuff to know.

  • good stuff here

  • It's much easier to changed one spark plug/wire at a time. that way there is no confusion on where the wires go. Also to avoid cross threading the plug, turn the plug left till it clicks. the click is a sign that the thread are perfectly aligned and ready to be turned right. Goodluck

  • i was taught that when i was like 10, it's a good way.

  • Not mentioned in the video, but always add some dielectric tune up grease on the plug boots to keep them from sticking on the ends of the plugs. Specially on cars with those long end plug wires that drop deep down a bore on the valve cover such as Hondas and Toyotas. When these style plug wires get stuck on the plug, you risk pulling the plug wire apart and leaving the end of it stuck down inside over the spark plug. Royal pain in the ass.

  • man ...ur really good !

  • thats a great video, not to short, and the way this man explain is bacanisimo, thanks auto repair help.

  • Thanks !!!! I never really had any auto advice , my old man is a tramp , so this video helped me with my truck!

  • is this suppose to be for beginner's, this guy is teaching like he's teaching level 2 shop student's

  • i have the same swivel head mac ratchet.... also if this is for beginners, he should instruct them to replace plugs and wires 1 at a time so not to get confused

  • he said if there not different lengths like them ones label them

  • @pfaffalicous he did lol

  • I like how he said on late model cars this has been simplified but they stopped making distributor caps in the late 90's (like 96 I think) but great video

  • mac ratchet

  • you do your job well sir, made everything clear for me, thanks

  • at 8:54...use original parts only, always compare old part with new and look hard for differnces.

  • he means OEM parts

If it is a GM use AC Delco

    If Ford MotorCraft

If Toyota, or japanesse cars use NGK or Denso

  • oem parts sometimes have the same code but might have difference, i saw that once with a ford timing belt, what i meant is that you should always check if the part you take off, is the same with the oem one, slight differences sometimes occur,

  • AC Delco now uses NGK plugs, so either or is fine.
