I just bought a Buck Canoe 0389BRS-B today, and was a little disappointed to see that it was made in China. The quality is good, but it would still be nice if it was made in the US.
@agentkapser No folding knife is designed to be thrown. They will break. Rock or no rock, regardless of quality, throwing a folding knife will break it.
@honda1296 I would say yes to all 3 questions. But with particular reference to the "strong" question; remember this is a small pocket knife and is meant for chores appropriate to its size. It is very strong for the size of knife it is and is a good quality build that will last a lifetime with proper care. If you are familiar with the Buck 110 then you can know this is just the same, only smaller.
i know it is said that the midspine lockback knives with the zytel handels, pocket clips and thumb studs are far more practicle then a gentlmens lockback knife but then again there is nothing like an old school wooden handle with brass bolster knife... i have this and the buck 110 and i love them both better than my cold steel voyagr and buck bantam.. proof that practicle isnt always better, the most practicle knife would probaly be uncool and boring and just a tool.....
@urkingod Depends if you wan't a lock back or a slipjoint. Also depends what style you like. But as a rule if you like the Buck 110 (or 112 or 55) then they really CAN'T be beat... -but you'll only realise that from handling one, not from photos!
actually the 112 is the "little brother" of the 110. However, Buck made the 55 as an everyday use knife, even smaller than the 112. You could say that the 55 is the baby brother of the 110.
i bought a few recently, and did handle changes to ivory and rare woods. always with me on weekends in town. great edc. good, detailed, and honest review. tks.

how can i maintain/polish the brass on my 110?
MahanHalkoja 5 months ago
@MahanHalkoja Just using a common polish is sufficient. Brasso would be a good choice.

No
the little brother is the 55 because half of 110 is 55
