Wow. That's sad that she didn't pick up the languages and seems a bit odd. You will never completely understand a culture unless you speak the language.
@310socalifornia its not easy to learn a language. especially if ur a TCK moving around every few years its quite impossible to just "pick up" the language and be fluent like a native...
I am a Korean TCK and when I go back to Korea, most people there grew up there most of their life (though some people have travel experience) so they don't always understand what I am talking about. But I am truly lucky for my experience growing up abroad.
