I have been using Cedarcide for about a year now to treat both vacant and occupied apartments. I am using a tri-nozzel fogger and while there is some oily residue, it is not too bad and has not caused any surface damage. It does appear to dry away after a short while. The odor issue has not been a problem and seems to be over-powering for only a short while. I typically apply, allow the fog to "rest' for about an hour and then introduce fresh air. A light odor remains for up to three/four days.
I have used Best Yet cedarcide in my recent war on bedbugs. You're right! Very strong odor! I applied it to bedbugs directly and their little butts flipped backwards and killed them quickly. I applied it around the edges of a mattress. We sprayed it and left for awhile and it wasn't too bad. It was helpful to use in conjunction with the professional exterminators methods and made me feel like I could do something to help fight them off.
@lsvolley I'm in the industry. Sounds like you are also. I was always taught that cedar has a natural repellency that wears off over time. I don't know how long such a repellency would last on furniture. I never find insects in cedar closets. I recommend cedar mulch to my customers but the repellency there seems to be much shorter lived. This product seems to have promise but I would have the same concerns as this guy. I use Sterifab on bedding. odor goes quickly and is not oily.

What about cedar beds and furniture? WIll that work as a pesticide? Will bedbugs live on cedar wood?
