This is not Miles. Nor is it Harry James. I know this for a fact, however for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the tune. I 'Shazamed' it and it came up on an album called "Songs for Japan". Pretty funny though. The poster has a picture of Miles saying that it's a recording of Harry James, which it isn't.
:) Miles Davis could get the most amazing sounds out of a trumpet, but I doubt very much he could have imitated this kind of style even if had wanted to.
i have almost every record of miles and i think i actually never heard this rythm in any of his songs (but maybe i'm still wrong). what i've found is, with the winamp auto tagger, that this piece is a part of a korean (i think) song: write that 이문세 - 애수 on youtube, and the first result (the pic with the girl on a grey wallpaper) is the song. and it appear clear why it's so brutally cut, because the rest is sung in korean. sorry for my english
