Deux de mes oncles ont du aller ce faire soigner a CUBA (un pays du tier monde!) car il ne pouvait ici. Start on the 20 go past the 6foot deep and 20foot wide pothole. Turn left at the 40 car pile up. Look at the olympic tower you are still paying for 40 years later. Don't turn right on red. Hit a pedestrain thay have no right, and your protected by no fault insurance.
Nice vid, i like the style of youre montage. But you missed all the streets life that make Montreal so special. Any major city has a kind of biodome, zoo ect... but Montreal have so much else to offer!
To response at pezzolla12, no it's not everybody who speek english in Montreal. But you can have a trip there and almost everybody will understand you. This city is both french and english from it's old history and it's citizens had to learn to live together. That bring an unique life experience that you can't find in Toronto or Vancouver. But i have to say that every other city in Canada are unique too, from Halifax to Victoria. The best thing to do is to take the wheel and drive it all! :)
it's because we all have imposed english classes, so not everyone will talk english perfectly but we almost all handle ourselves on holding a conversation,has I,m doing right now ha ha

I LIVE in Montreal , i walk the streets every day , and in I can assure you , you hear far more snippets of converation in English than you do in French. Of course there's loads of french , but in Montreal it's like 50/50; in the more remote areas of Quebec you couldn't find an anglo to save your life.

I'd say a good chunk of people in Montreal are Bilingual , so they can speak both languges well. But there are those who can only speka French and those who can only speka English (me). I'm not an economy expert, i'd say it's decent. Minimum wage is , like , 8 bucks , 8-something an hour.
you can visit many nice festivals in montreal and the nightlife is great,
i enjoyed toronto (btw the CN-tower is a must and the niagara falls aren't far away -> just stunning but very hmm "commercial") because everybody speakes english (my french is very bad), i've to admit that most of the people in montreal speak english aswell but i had the feeling that they would like me to speak french

You're right, unexpected90: many bus drivers & the less educated people are more reluctant to speak English, since they still see it as the language of the oppressor (Québec & Eastern Canada up to Louisiana was colonized by France & then invaded by Great Britain).
Mind you, wouldn't you make the effort to learn Spanish if travelling to Latin America (where very few people outside of the business / university communities speak English), or you'd complain that people don't speak YOUR language?

I think the video is cool, and the soundtrack catchy, but in no way does it show the true beauty of the city. The Olympic Stadium/ Gardens/ Biodome/ Insectarium, are not what make Montreal great, and is purely a tourist attraction.

I visited Montreal In June of 2007. I loved it. If I were to live in another place it would be there. I love the sound the metro makes, that horn. We stayed at Sherbrook and peel.

To response at pezzolla12, no it's not everybody who speek english in Montreal. But you can have a trip there and almost everybody will understand you. This city is both french and english from it's old history and it's citizens had to learn to live together. That bring an unique life experience that you can't find in Toronto or Vancouver. But i have to say that every other city in Canada are unique too, from Halifax to Victoria. The best thing to do is to take the wheel and drive it all! :)

I LIVE in Montreal , i walk the streets every day , and in I can assure you , you hear far more snippets of converation in English than you do in French. Of course there's loads of french , but in Montreal it's like 50/50; in the more remote areas of Quebec you couldn't find an anglo to save your life.

I'd say a good chunk of people in Montreal are Bilingual , so they can speak both languges well. But there are those who can only speka French and those who can only speka English (me). I'm not an economy expert, i'd say it's decent. Minimum wage is , like , 8 bucks , 8-something an hour.

you can visit many nice festivals in montreal and the nightlife is great,
i enjoyed toronto (btw the CN-tower is a must and the niagara falls aren't far away -> just stunning but very hmm "commercial") because everybody speakes english (my french is very bad), i've to admit that most of the people in montreal speak english aswell but i had the feeling that they would like me to speak french
all in all canada is a really great country and the people are relaxed and VERY NICE

You're right, unexpected90: many bus drivers & the less educated people are more reluctant to speak English, since they still see it as the language of the oppressor (Québec & Eastern Canada up to Louisiana was colonized by France & then invaded by Great Britain).
Mind you, wouldn't you make the effort to learn Spanish if travelling to Latin America (where very few people outside of the business / university communities speak English), or you'd complain that people don't speak YOUR language?

i just think that it's ridiculous of a busdriver to force me to speak french (actually he was able to speak english, but wouldn't speak english with us - tourists), if you came to austria you'd probably speak english with our busdrivers (would you find it nice of them to answer you in german...although they ARE able to speak english?)

I primarily tried to use French when I visited, but people always spoke back to me in English! Didn't bother speaking French so much in the hotel (The Queen Elizabeth) as was primarily full of Anglophones anyway.

ok i dunno where u live but i live in Montreal since 2005 and i really like it i've been pretty much all over mtl and i think I've seen everything and i really like it ,especially the bagels:D and about those ppl who don't have any money they are so because they choose to b and don't want to work ..man u can get a job practically everywhere with 8.00$ per hour(in 1 week it's gonna change to 8.50$/h)cos that's the minimum salary someone can get ,besides bar maids...
